正译法和反译法 —表达方式

汉语句群知识对汉英翻译实践非常重要。一 方面，它有助于我们加深对原文语篇的理解和整 体把握，另一方面还可以增强我们在构建译文语 篇时的超句意识，从字句的准确进而达到句群范 围的语义连贯。这样，有了意义明晰、条理清楚 的句群，在译文中组段成篇就容易了。
5.2 句群内的衔接与连贯
句群层次的翻译操作强调超句意识。句群范围内 的句子都是按照合理的、易于理解的逻辑关系连接成 一个整体。这些关系既包含语法关系，又有语义与逻 辑关系，如并列、承接、递进、选择、转折、因果、 假设、条件等等；它们既可以靠语序表示，也可借助 虚词表示。
译文根据英文形合的特征，不但添加连接词 “whilst”，贴切地描述诸多往事同时涌上心头的情景， 实现原文的表情功能，而且还用“now”、“then”等 词明示原文中隐含的叙事时间关系，用“and”加强整 个段落前后的连贯性。
⑵ 有一天，他忽然得了疾病，赶快叫人去请东街的 汪医生。那家人急急忙忙地跑去，一时寻不着东 街的汪大夫，却把西街牛医生王大夫请来了。差 不多先生病在床上，知道寻错了人；但病急了， 身上痛苦， 心里焦急，等不得了，心里想到： “好在王大夫同汪大夫也差不多，让他试试看 罢。”于是这位牛医王大夫走近床前，用医牛的 法子给差不多先生治病。不上一点钟，差不多先 生就一命呜呼了。
不过，汉语段落可以包含一个或一 个以上的主题，英语段落一般只有一个主 题，如往往有一个明显的主题句，其他句 子则层层展开，以支持主题句。
但无论英语还是汉语，各段落的主 题都是篇章主题的一部分，在篇章中气承 上启下的作用。
5.4 段落功能与意义的再现
汉语段落英译时，我们除了考虑各句译得正确、 地道以外，还必须考虑到句子以外的因素，即段落 主题性，句与句之间的衔接性以及各句所反映的概 念或命题的连贯性。否则，译文将貌合神远，无法 实现原文的全部功能和意义。

什么是句群？
句群也叫“句组”或“语段”，是指在结 构上前后连贯、具有一个明晰中心意思的一 组句子。
句群是大于句子、小于段落的语法单位和 表达单位；
句群中的句子是采取一定的语法手段组合 起来的；一个句群表达一个相对完整的中心 意思。
两小时的面试起初定在6月2日，但后来推 迟了举行。这次面试组织得很好，让人满 意。
汉语句群11种： 1.并列句群; 2.连贯句群; 3.递进句群; 4.解证句群; 5.总分句群; 6.因果句群; 7.转折句群; 8.选择句群; 9.假设句群; 10.条件句群; 11.目的句群。
