Book 11 lesson 2 How To Give Advice.(Good morning/afternoon everyone/ judges. I’m NO ----candidate.)Good afternoon, judges. I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching design. My presentation is made up of six parts: analysis of teaching material, analysis of students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design. Now I am going to share them with you.First of all, I’d like to give some analysis of the material.This is lesson 2 in Book 11 Fun With English (Start from Grade One, published by Liaoning Normal University). This lesson is the second lesson in Unit One. The content is something about giving gifts on the Double Ninth Day. Discussing what gift one should give to others is familiar to the Ss, let the students learn happily and easily. During making cards for the old people, we can arouse Ss’ interests and train Ss’ abilities in doing things creatively.Based on the new curriculum standard,the teaching objects are:Knowledge object is to Enable the Ss to remember the following new words: double, festival, show, fold, wish, and get the Ss to be familiar with this sentence pattern:What shall we do for them? Why not make some cards?Ability objects are:1. Ss can use the sentences “Wha t shall we do for them? Why not make some cards?”in real situations. 2. Ss can understand the dialogue in Learn to say and act the dialogue. 3. To cultivate the communicative abilities and operative abilitiesEmotion objects are: 1. To arouse the Ss’ inter ests in English. 2. To train the Ss’ cooperative and creative abilities. 3. To arouse the Ss’ love for the old people.Based on the objectives, I make the teaching key points and difficult points as follow The key points are the dialogue in Learn to say, the words and the sentences in Try to use. The difficult points are how to use the new drills in real situations.After the analysis of teaching material, now let me analyse the students.When the festival is coming, the Ss often give some gifts to their teacher, mother or others. But they seldom give their grandparents gifts when the Double Ninth Day is coming. Some of them don’t know this festival. This class I’m going to begin the lesson from the date of the Double Ninth Day .And I will try to arouse the Ss’ interests inEnglish and love for the old people.According to the students physical and physiological characteristics,I will adopt Situation creating、task-based approach to improve the students enthusiasm,make the students learn to play and play to learn .The students will take part in the activities and finish the tasks cooperatively. They will use the language in a relax, democracy, and harmonious atmosphere .In order to finish my teaching, I will use recorder and pictures as the teaching aids .Now it comes to the most important part —teaching procedures, it including the following steps:Step 1 . leading inAfter the greeting, the teacher uses a guessing game to go over the words campus, term, idea, report, should, shall, etc. The students who enjoy games very much will focus their attention at once. At last when the student spells the word , “shall”,the teacher repeats like this, S-H-A-double L, it help to introduce the word “double”, and enter in the next part naturally.Step 2. PresentationTeacher shows the wall calendar using multimedia, points to September 9th. And explain that, It’s Double Ninth Day, it means “chong yang jie”. it’s a festival for the old people.Teacher begins from showing the date of the Double Ninth Day, then shows the new words step by step. First, help Ss do a individual activity, making sentences with the word show, such as “Show me your book. Show the way to me.etc”. At the same time, Teacher shows the meaning of “fold” by doing action. Ss learn to read and write the word in different ways.Next, teacher shows the cardboard again, and says: Oh, What shall I do? Yes, make a card. And show the steps to ss. The Double Ninth Day is coming. listen to the tape. Find what will Li Ming, Billy and Linda do for their grandparents?Ss listen to the tape quietly first, then read after it, read together, read by themselves in different ways. Teacher write the word “wish” on the Bb. and helps Ss say the plural form of wish, wishes. When the teacher is talking to the Ss in real situations, the new words and sentences are introduced and learned. The teaching process is natural and smooth.Step 3.PracticeAfter learning the words, sentences and the dialogue, the teacher asks Ss to do some practice and extention. This can train Ss’ habits and abilities of using English.Task 1: act the dialogue in pair work. Tell the Ss that they can use the sentences in the dialogue and also the sentences they have learned before. Ask Ss to practice in group first. Then act in front of the class.Task 2: make a survey .by the mean of investigation, .students do a survey in groups, find what they can do for old people, then report the result .And during practice and acting the dialogue, Ss get the quality of loving old people. Their cooperative abilities are improved at the same time.Step 4.Summing-upIn this step, ss sum up by themselves, they will talk about what they grasped in this lesson and make an assessment on each group.Step 5. HomeworkReport the result to their parents using the sentence pattern and key words .Finally, I will talk about my blackboard design. To grasp the main idea of Reading and use the information to talk to others, I will write the topic and the key words and phrases on the blackboard .。
