Christmas day is on Dec. 25th . people usually have severals days off from their work.

People go shoping before Christmas so the shops are very busy. People celebrate Christmas in several ways. They decorate Christmas trees, exchange presents, sing songs, eat candy and hang up stockings. They have a big family dinner. They also tell stories about Santa Claus. Santa Claus flies all over the world on Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas, and gives presents to all the children. On Christmas morning when children wake up, they run to the Christmas tree to see what toys Santa has brought them.

Christmas is an important Western holiday. All the family memebers come together to celebrate it. It is time for family reunion.

People often have a big family dinner on this day. Roast turkey is the traditional dish for thankgiving dinner and Americans like to watch a big football game on TV.

People play a lot of games and dress up as ghosts and witches. You can see many pumpkin lanterns at Halloween. kids often go to neighbours’ houses, knock on their doors and say “treat and trick” By doing this, They can get a lot of candies.

Spring Festival —春节
Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. It is on the first day of the first lunar month(阴历正月). On the eve of the festival, people will paste spring poems(贴春联)with lucky words. They prepare delicious food, dumpling is a must. They also clean their house, but there is no sweeping on spring festival for people think it will sweep away good luck. People often come back home to enjoy family reunion, the whole family will get together for the big dinner. They also exchange greeting with other friends and relatives.
Dragon Boat Festival 端午节
This day is on the fifth of the fifth lunar month, People often get together to watch the wonderful “Dragon Boat Race”(龙舟大赛)，Rice dumpling is a must on Dragon Boat Festival. This festival is in memory of the poet named Qu Yuan.
Mid-autumn Day —中秋节
It comes on the 15th of the eighth lunar month. People often gaze at the “Lady in the moon”(嫦娥)----enjoy the moon. And we can eat moon cakes and all kinds of fruits, Mid-autumn Day is also a family reuion. People miss families very much.
Lantern Festival 元宵节
It comes on the 15th of the first lunar month and it marks the end of the Spring Festival. On this day, people often eat sweet dumplings(元宵)for good luck. They will visit the display of lanterns(灯展)or go for temple fair(庙会)
New Year 元旦
It falls on the first day of the year. It marks the beginning of a year. People will plan what to do in the new year. Because they believe that the whole year's work depends on a good start in spring.
