When I was being bullied in 4th grade, she fiercely defended me. And when my grandpa passed away, she was by my side with comforting words and kleenex. My family and I went on an amazing trip to Europe. We visited so many incredibleplaces and had experiences that really opened my eyes to the world.Our first stop was London, England. I have to admit, I was a little nervous at first because I had never traveled so far from home before. But London was absolutely amazing! We saw all the famous sights like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London. My favorite was definitely the British Museum though. Seeing artifacts and treasures from ancient civilizations like Egypt, Greece, and Rome was mind-blowing. I felt like I was transported back in time.After a few days in London, we took the train to Paris, France. Paris is every bit as beautiful and romantic as people say. The Eiffel Tower was breathtaking, especially all lit up at night. I tried snail for the first time (not my favorite) and my little brother even ate a frog's leg! We spent an entire day at the Louvre Museum and I saw so many legendary works of art up close, like the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. I couldn't believe paintings and sculptures created hundreds of years ago could still captivate me so much today.From Paris, we traveled down through the Swiss Alps to Italy. Switzerland was like a fairy tale with its green meadows,snow-capped peaks, and crystal blue lakes. But nothing couldprepare me for the magic of Venice. Riding in a gondola along the winding canals was such a cool experience—it felt like being in another era before cars and modern transportation. St. Mark's Square was packed with pigeons and classic Italian architecture. And the food in Italy? Out of this world! I had the best pizza, pasta, and gelato of my life.Our final stops were Rome and Vatican City. I was blown away by ancient Roman sites like the Colosseum and Roman Forum. To walk the same grounds as iconic figures from thousands of years ago like Julius Caesar really put history into perspective for me. It was all so beautiful and ornate, I felt like I was surrounded by heaven on earth.Aside from seeing so many bucket-list destinations, some of my favorite parts of the trip were the simple moments. Trying to navigate foreign subway systems and learning basic phrases in new languages. Getting lost and inevitably found again. Bonding with my family without the distractions of everyday life back home.This trip made me realize how big and amazing the world is, with so many different cultures, histories, arts, and ways of life to discover and appreciate. It opened my eyes in a way textbooks and classroom lessons never could. I came back with a new curiosity about our global community and can't wait to plan my next adventure abroad. Traveling awakened a hunger in me to keep exploring, learning, and growing as a citizen of the world.
