Friendship is one of the greatest pleasures that people can enjoy. A true friend does indeed
find pleasure in our joy and share sorrow in our grief. Our friend is always at our side to give
us help and comfort．
Knowing how valuable friendship is，we should be very careful in our choice of a
friend．We must choose someone who has a good character，whose activities are good and
who shows kindness of heart．
A true friend can always be trusted，loved and respected. Friends share each other‟s joys
and sorrows．They help each other when they are in trouble，and cheer each other up when
they are sad．The most important thing is that a friend always understands you．

When Tom was at age of thirteen, he began to keep diaries in English. At first it seemed
difficult to him, but now it has begun to be easy. He knows it‟s not possible to learn English
well without more practice and he likes reading, listening, and speaking. After school he often
goes to the library to read English stories.
He is often busy with writing his diaries and has little time to watch TV. After he finishes
writing his diary, he always tries to correct mistakes with the help of the dictionary. He thinks
that keeping diary is one of the best ways to improve his English study.

Henry wants to borrow a book from the library. He comes to the library with his classmate.
They can‟t see any assistant in it, but some robots standing there. Henry says to the robot,
“Hey, give me a book on music.” But the robot doesn‟t move. Then another student tells
Henry, “You must say „Excuse me‟ and „please‟ first when you want some help.” Henry does
so and the robot brings him the book. But Henry can‟t get the book from the robot‟s hands. He
thinks for a moment, then he says a word to the robot. The robot gives him the book. Henry
takes the book and goes home happily.

Sam‟s grandfather is seventy years old, and he is a little weak because of his age. Now he

grandfather has to return the videos and the CD-ROM in two week‟s time, and the books in
one month‟s time. Why does Sam‟s grandfather borrow the books，the vidoes and CD-ROM
