PEP8 Unit 1 How Tall Are You?第一课时一、教学目标1.能够听、说、读、写形容词的比较级形式:taller stronger older younger shorter。

二、重点难点1、能够听、说、认读A Let’s learn部分五个形容词的比较级形式,并能用含有比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。

2、能够听、说、读、写四会单词,并能根据一定情境使用含有形容词比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。

三、教学学具1、录音机,三年级下册六单元Let’s do部分的录音磁带和本课录音带。

2、本课时的单词卡片。

3、测量身高和体重的工具。

四、教学过程Step1. Warm up(1) Chant:教师播放三年级下册六单元A部分Let’s do的录音“Tall, tall, tall, make yourself tall…”师生一起吟唱并做出相应的动作。

(2) Free talk:T:Good morning/afternoon! Boys and girls.Ss: Good morning! Miss/ Mr…T: How are you? Ss: I’m fine. Thank you! And you?T: I’m fine, too. T: Yes, Liu Xiang is tall. (课件出示姚明的图片。

)Look at Yao Ming. What’s he like? Ss: He is tall, too.T: Yes, he is tall. He is taller than Liu Xiang.Make a chant: taller , taller, taller, Yao Ming is taller than Liu Xiang.T:Yao Ming is taller than Liu Xiang. Liu Xiang is shorter than Yao Ming. (在short 后面用红笔加上er. 领读、拼读单词并说句子。

)Make a chant: shorter, shorter, shorter, Liu Xiang is shorter than Yao Ming.(2)在一组学生问答练习结束时,教师接着说:“You are taller than me. But I am stronger than you.”在原来的板书strong后面用红色笔加上er.领读并拼读单词。

告诉学生像thin这样的单词,在变为比较级时,要双写最后一个字母再加er.Make a chant: thinner, thinner, thinner, you are thinner than me.(3)教师指一学生问:How old are you? S1: I am 12/… years old.T: I am 35 years old. I am older than you. You are younger than me.在黑板上原来的板书old, young 后面加上er. 领读,拼读单词并练习说句子。

二、教学难点:1 掌握A Let’s talk 部分的四会句型。

2 能用本单元的语言,如:How tall are you? I’m 164 cm tall. You’re shorter than me. You’re 4 cm taller than me. 等调查同学的年龄、体重和身高并就调查结果进行分析比较,做出汇报。

三、课前准备:教师准备录音机和本课时的录音带。

教师准备第一课时的单词卡片。

教师让学生准备好事先测出的身高和体重的数据。

四、教学过程:Step1 Warm up (热身)1. Oral talk教师让学生用英语说说自己、朋友或家人的情况。

如:My Chinese name’s Wang Ling. My English name’s Mary. I’m 11 years old. I study in Beijing Primary School. I’m in Class One Grade Six. I like swimming and drawing. I can draw some pictures. Look, this is my picture. What’s in the picture? Is there a park in the picture? Today is Monday. It’s March 4. It’s sunny. I’m good at English. I’m a good s tudent.教师让学生就口语展示内容进行相互提问。

如:What day is today? It’s Monday. What’s date today? It’s March 4.What’s the weather like today? It’s sunny.What’s her English name? Her English name is Mary.2、Review (复习)教师告诉学生要访问几名优秀学生,请其他同学就访问的内容进行纪录。

访问内容为:How old are you? How tall are you? 访问人数为5人。

教师小结采访结果,使其他学生再次订正纪录内容。

教师根据学生的纪录询问How tall is A? How old is A? How tall is B? How old is B? Is A taller than B? Is B older than A? 等。

Step 2 Presentation1.Let’s chant2.Let’s try教师播放Let’s try部分的录音,学生听录音,圈出录音材料中所描述的大象。

教师带领学生一起说说这三只大象的样子,教师问:What is the Mother elephant like? What is the Father elephant like? Is the Mother elephant stronger than her son?3.Let’s talk教师指着一名身高超过自己的学生说I’m 160 cm tall. You’re taller than me. I’m shorter than you. How tall are you? 该学生回答:I’m 165 cm tall. 教师接着说Oh, You’re 5 cm taller than me. 然后教师板书下面这组对话并重点带读最后一个句子。
