Topic: My Favorite Holiday

Introduction:

As a student in college, I have experienced a variety of

holidays throughout my life. However, there is one holiday that

stands out among the rest - my favorite holiday. In this essay, I

will discuss the reasons why this holiday is so special to me and

how I typically celebrate it.

Body:

My favorite holiday is Christmas. This holiday holds a special

place in my heart because it is a time when my whole family

comes together to celebrate. I have many fond memories of

decorating the Christmas tree with my parents and siblings,

baking cookies, and exchanging gifts. The atmosphere during Christmas is always warm and festive, filled with love and

laughter.

One of the things I love most about Christmas is the

tradition of giving and receiving gifts. I enjoy picking out special

gifts for my family members and seeing their faces light up when

they open them. It is a time of year when we truly show our

appreciation for one another and spend quality time together.

Another aspect of Christmas that I cherish is the food. My

family always prepares a big Christmas dinner with all the

traditional dishes like roast turkey, mashed potatoes, and

cranberry sauce. We sit down together at the table and enjoy a

delicious meal while reminiscing about past holidays and making

new memories.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, Christmas is my favorite holiday because it

brings my family closer together and allows us to create lasting

memories. The traditions, the food, and the time spent with

loved ones make this holiday truly special. I look forward to

celebrating Christmas each year and am grateful for the joy it

brings. Overall, my favorite holiday is Christmas because of the love,

joy, and togetherness it brings.

Unit 3: A Letter to a Friend

Dear Sam,

I hope this letter finds you well. It has been quite some time

since we last spoke, and I wanted to take this opportunity to

catch up and share with you what has been happening in my life.

Firstly, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I have

recently been accepted into a study abroad program in Italy. I

will be spending the next semester in Florence, immersing myself

in the culture, learning the language, and hopefully making new

friends from all over the world. I am both nervous and thrilled at

the prospect of this new adventure, and I cannot wait to see what

the future holds.

In addition to my studies, I have also been keeping busy with

various extracurricular activities on campus. I have joined a

photography club where I have been honing my skills behind the

camera, capturing beautiful moments and scenes around the

university. I have also started volunteering at a local shelter, helping out with the animals and making a difference in the

community.

On a more personal note, I have been focusing on self-care

and mindfulness. I have been practicing yoga and meditation

regularly, which has helped me de-stress and find inner peace

amidst the chaos of daily life. I have also been reading more

books, exploring new hobbies, and spending quality time with

loved ones.
