2024届河北省邢台市第一中学高三下学期二轮复习质检测试英语试题一、阅读理解There is a day in the life with AI, who follows your move: the way you travel, the food you eat, how you spend your money, the news you read and your social interactions...7a.m You wake up and glance at your iPhone, which unlocks itself using facial recognitionApple’s Face ID changes your face to a set of numbers that act as your own unique identifier. This biometric portrait is not set in stone-it uses AI to track changes in your appearance, updating its model if you grow a beard, change your makeup style or get older and it also detects whether your eyes are open and your attention is directed at your phone.8:30a.m You drive to work in your electric carCars such as the Tesla can do most of the ordinary aspects of driving. The vehicle’s AI system collects data from eight cameras, identifies obstacles, lanes, intersections and traffic lights and decides what action to take, whether moving skillfully into an awkward parking spot or overtaking a slow lorry. But self-driving cars know only how to deal with situations they have seen before and an ongoing challenge is how to equip them for rare and unexpected events.4:30p.m Your phone rings with a message from your Amazon Ring doorbell-a package has been delivered to your doorstepLast year, about one in five households in the UK reported having an AI-based home security system. Amazon Ring uses a motion-activated camera, heat sensor and radar and uses computer vision software to make users different when a person, or a package, is outside their property. Humans have a heavy heat signature and with the radar, the object moving in 3D spaces can be detected.9:30p.m You scroll (滚动) through a newspaper article that contains a special ad As you read news articles, scroll through social media, make Google searches and buy things online, you leave a trail of clues about who you are, what you might want to spend your money on-that is incredibly valuable for digital advertisers. AI sift (筛) this data for insights into your age, gender, lifestyle, income and your hobbies. This allows companies such as Google to serve up specific, targeted adverts that pop up as you scroll through a news article.1.Which of the following is the disadvantage of electric cars?A.Tendency to cut in.B.Speeding on the lane.C.Uncontrolled parking areas.D.Lack of information about emergencies. 2.What can we learn about AI from the text?A.Apple’s Face ID may change your facial features.B.Self-driving vehicles can replace human drivers.C.About 20% of English homes adopt Amazon Ring.D.AI can work out your personal online preference.3.What information does the text convey?A.We will live a better life with AI.B.AI enters many aspects of our life.C.The smartphone is a necessity for us.D.Personal information is no longer secure.Well, it isn’t a long story, but I wonder if you will really understand.I used to be crazy about hunting. There’s a thrill in hunting, an excitement that comes over you when a deer crashes out of the bush. After hunting, you feel great to show off with the boys.It was like that the last time I was in the woods. I went up into the hills alone, heading for a well-used deer trail. Sure enough there were fresh tracks in the snow. Then I saw him. A deer, a big beautiful deer! Surely I couldn’t miss! I waited for him to realize I was there and run away. But he fooled me completely. He came towards me! He was curious, I suppose, or maybe he was stupid—how else can you explain it?He must have known about men and guns. But he came closer, putting one foot before the other, slowly and purposefully. His big eyes never moved from my face. Well, that deer walked right up to me. Then he stopped and looked at me!What happened next is hard to believe, but it’s true. And it all seemed quite natural. Just as when a friendly puppy comes near you, I reached up and scratched his head, right between the horns. And he liked to be scratched. That big, wild, beautiful deer bent his head like a young horse. In fact, he practically asked for more. I scratched his head and his nose poked at my shoulder. He didn’t even tremble. Well, he finally went his way, down the hill and up the deer trail. Shoot him? Not me. You wouldn’t have either, not after that. I just watched him go.There’s very little more to tell. I picked up my thermos, and started walking back. I wasabout half way back when I heard two shots, followed by a dull slam a few seconds later. Those two shoots usually mean a kill. I had forgotten there were other hunters that day. Those hunters would never know they could have scratched his head...4.Why did the author mention his craze for hunting?A.To present a cause.B.To illustrate an idea.C.To make a contrast.D.To explain a phenomenon.5.Why did the author change his mind and let the deer go?A.The deer was stupid.B.The author was not prepared.C.Their interaction softened the author.D.The deer fooled the author into doing that.6.What can be inferred from the text?A.The deer was probably killed.B.The deer was alert to human beings.C.The author is an inexperienced hunter.D.The author was happy that the deer ran away.7.Which of the following might be the best title for the text?A.A Hunting in Late Fall B.A Lovely DeerC.The Cruel Killing D.The Last HuntingThe easiest and least complicated way to motivate somebody is quite simply to pay them attention. What you say is not important, nor necessarily is how long you spend saying it, as long as it’s something. “Nice weather” or “How are you?” will do.People just love attention, adults and children. Children love attention so much that they will do anything to get some. In fact, if children are not getting enough attention, they would rather be naughty and get told off than be “good” and be ignored. An interesting time in most households with young children is dinnertime-it’s the end of the day, everybody is tired, the house is in a mess and Johnny doesn’t like carrots and is refusing to eat his food. Again, the easy trap to fall into is to start getting cross with Johnny and getting into a big argument about his food. Again, he’s getting the attention he desires; even if it’s not the best sort of attention, it’s better thannothing. It’s fascinating if you are able to stand back from the situation and instead focus attention and praise on Johnny’s brother who is eating his food-after all, he is one that is doing what you want him to do. After five or ten minutes or so of being ignored, it’s amazing how quickly (usually) Johnny sees sense and obeys. I’ve watched my own children in this situation go from screaming from behind the sofa, saying “Mummy, aren’t I doing good dinner eating?”-all without having one word spoken to them by their parents, who are busily paying attention to their brothers. This fundamental need for attention, and doing whatever it takes to get it, doesn’t disappear when we turn into adults. Sure, there are people who are “real attention seekers” in a loud and extravert (外向的) way, and there are the shy, retiring types who don’t want attention in such a “sociable” way. But everybody still wants to be recognized and seen worthwhile.8.What will children probably do to get parents attention?A.They will get quiet for a long time.B.They will ignore their parents.C.They will behave naughtily.D.They will get cross easily.9.What does the underlined phrase “the easy trap to fall into” mean?A.A set-up situation parents are likely to go into.B.The household work that parents can not avoid.C.Some tempting food children easily love to eat.D.A bad habit children easily develop.10.An effective way to make children behave themselves may be ________.A.scolding them severely B.teaching them what to doC.giving them total freedom D.praising their sisters or brothers11.What point does the author make by relating to children’s behavior?A.Children s upbringing needs parents’ constant care.B.Children are usually extravert while adults are sociable.C.Both children and adults need to be seen as worthwhile.D.The motivation of children differs greatly from that of adults. For thousands of years, people have known that the best way to understand a concept is to explain it to someone else. “While we teach. we learn.” said Roman philosopher Seneca. Now scientists are bringing this ancient wisdom up-to-date. They are documenting why teaching is sucha fruitful way to learn, and designing innovative ways for young people to engage in instruction.Researchers have found that students who sign up to tutor others work harder to understand the material, recall it more accurately and apply it more effectively. Student teachers score higher on tests than pupils who are learning only for their own sake. But how children, still learning themselves, teach others? One answer. They can tutor younger kids. Some studies have found that first-born children are more intelligent than their later-born siblings. This suggests their higher IQs result from the time they spend teaching their siblings. Now educators are experimenting with ways to apply this model to academic subjects. They engage college undergraduates to teach computer science to high school students, who in turn instruct middle school students on the topic. But the most cutting-edge tool under development is the “teachable agent” —a computerized character who learns, tries, makes mistakes and asks questions just like a real-world pupil. Computer scientists have created an animated figure called Betty’s Brain, who has been “taught” about environmental science by hundreds of middle school students. Student teachers are motivated to help Betty master certain materials. While preparing to teach, they organize their knowledge and improve their own understanding. And as they explain the information to it, they identify problems in their own thinking.Feedback from the teachable agents further enhances the tutors learning. The agents’ questions compel student tutors to think and explain the materials in different ways, and watching the agent solve problems allows them to see their knowledge put into action.Above all, it’s emotions one experiences in teaching that facilitate learning. Student tutors feel upset when their teachable agents fail, but happy when these virtual pupils succeed as they derive pride and satisfaction from someone else’s accomplishment.12.What are researchers rediscovering through their studies?A.Seneca’s thinking is still applicable today.B.Better learners will become betterteachers.C.Human intelligence tends to grow with age.D.Philosophical thinking improvesinstruction.13.What do we learn about Betty’s Brain?A.It is a character in a popular animation.B.It is a teaching tool under development.C.It is a cutting-edge app in digital games.D.It is a tutor for computer science students.14.What is the key factor that benefits student tutors’ learning?A.Their sense of responsibility.B.The learning strategy acquired.C.Their emotional involvement.D.The teaching experience gained. 15.What’s the author’s attitude towards student tutors’ learning?A.Opposed B.Indifferent C.Ambiguous D.FavorableDon’t Lose MotivationMany of us have a dream that we would love to achieve. Having dreams is fine, but achieving dreams requires determination, single-mindedness, courage, and commitment.16 . Staying motivated can be hard, especially if you think you are being frustrated frequently. How, then, do we get motivated? 17 Motivational speakers outline their recipes for success. There are videos, books, documentaries, and online courses available to anyone seeking motivation. Our dreams are usually a bit vague (模糊的). 18 . A long-term goal will be the ultimate dream — let’s say, setting up a new business. Short-term and medium-term goals will be the stages on the road to the final goal.19 . Their attitude is going to be optimistic and confident, and you can draw on that yourself. Negative thoughts can soon disappear if you are with people who exude (洋溢) positivity.Often we can learn more from our mistakes than we can from our successes. If we make a mistake, then we have to analyze why. By thinking about the error, working out what went wrong, and seeking another way of doing the task, we are learning. We must not see failures as a bad thing. 20 .It is important not to worry about losing motivation. The important thing is to tackle it as soon as you realize your motivation has gone. Think about why your self-motivation has been lost and then get back on the road to success.A.The first step to achieving a dream is to turn it into a series of goalsB.Your plan itself is a source of self-motivationC.You can keep yourself motivated by mixing with other motivated peopleD.Above all, we must feel motivated to fulfill our dreams and remain motivatedE.Review your progress regularly to make sure that you are still on course for success F.They enable us to avoid the mistake happening another timeG.A whole industry has grown up dedicated to motivating people二、完形填空Ben was bothered every time he went through the kitchen. Disposing(处理)of waste has been a problem since humans started producing it.As more and more people choose to live close together in cities, the waste-disposal problem becomes Increasingly difficult.During the eighteenth century,it was usual for several neighboring towns to get together to select a faraway spot as a dump site.Residents or trash haulers(垃圾拖运者)would transport household rubbish, rotted wood, and old possessions t o the site.Periodically(定期的)some of the trash was burned and the rest was buried. The unpleasant sights and smells caused no problem because nobody lived close by.Factories, mills, and other industrial sites also had waste to be disposed of.Those located on rivers often just dumped the unwanted remains into the water.Others built huge burners with chimneys to deal with the problem.Several facts make these choices unacceptable to modern society. The first problem is space Dumps, which are now called landfills, are most needed in heavily populated areas.Such areas rarely have empty land suitable for this purpose.Property is either too expensive or too close to residential(住宅区的) neighborhoods.Long-distance trash hauling has been a common practice but once farm areas are refusing to accept rubbish from elsewhere, cheap land within trucking distance of major city areas is almost nonexistent.Awareness(意识) of pollution dangers has resulted in more strict rules of waste disposal. Pollution of rivers, ground water, land and air is a price people can no longer pay to get rid of waste. The amount of waste, however, continues to grow.Recycling efforts have become commonplace, and many towns require their people t o take part.Even he most efficient recycling programs, however, can hope to deal with only about 50 Percent of a city’s reusable waste.36.The most suitable title for this passage would be _______.A.Places for Disposing WasteB.Waste Pollution DangersC.Ways of Getting Rid of WasteD.Waste Disposal Problem提示:第一段告诉了读者本文的中心思想。
一、高中英语阅读理解1.阅读理解City trees grow faster and die younger than trees in rural forestry, a new study finds. Over their lifetimes, then, urban trees will likely absorb less CO2 from the air thah forest trees. As we all know, the earth would be freezing or burning hot without CO2. However, CO2is a greenhouse gas, meaning it traps energy from the sun as/heat. That makes temperatures near the ground rise. Human activities, especially the widespread burning-of fossil(化石)fuels, have been sending extra greenhouse gases into the air. This has led to a rise in average temperatures across the globe.Studies had shown forests readily absorb CO2, but there hadn't been much data on whether city trees grow, die and absorb CO2at the same rate as forest trees do. So some researchers decided to find out.To figure out how quickly trees were growing, researchers tracked their diameters (the width of their trunks) between 2005 and 2014. A tree's diameter increases as it grows, just as a person's waist size increases as they gain weight. About half the weight of a tree is carbon, research has shown. Most of the rest is water. Over the nine years' tracking, the researchers found city trees absorbed four times as much carbon from the air as forest trees. However, they were twice as likely to die. So over the lifetime of each type of tree, forest trees actually absorbed more CO2.City trees grew faster because they had less competition for light from their neighbors. In a forest, trees tend to grow close together, shading their neighbors. Street trees also benefit from higher levels of nitrogen (氮)in rainwater. Nitrogen helps plants grow. Waste gases from gas-burning cars also contain nitrogen, thus enriching city air with nitrogen. Later, rainwater may wash much of it to the ground. Some street trees may also have better access to water than trees in the country because the underground water pipes can leak.(1)What can he known about CO2 from paragraph 2?A. It is one of the side effects of greenhouses.B. It greatly accelerates the process of global warming.C. It results from the widespread burning of fossil fuels.D. It prevents the earth from becoming unsuitable to live on.(2)Why did researchers track the diameters of trees?A. To know about their growth rates.B. To find out how much they weigh.C. To check whether they were healthy.D. To assess the carbon amounts in them.(3)What advantage do city trees have over forest trees?A. They are more likely to access growth promoters.B. They can enjoy more water coming from the air.C. They can enjoy more shade from neighbors.D. They are better at competing for light.(4)What will probably be talked about if the passage is continued?A. How urban trees can live longer.B. Why city living makes trees die young.C. How trees respond to dry soil conditions.D.

Arthur Miller(19152021)is universally recognized as one of the greatest dramatists of the 20th century. Miller's father had moved to the USA from AustriaHungary, drawn like so many others by the“Great American Dream〞. However, he experienced severe financial hardship when his family business was ruined in the Great Depression of the early 1930s. Miller's most famous play, Death of a Salesman, is a powerful attack on the American system, with its aggressive way of doing business and its insistence on money and social status as indicators of worth. In Willy Loman, the hero of the play, we see a man who has got into trouble with this system. Willy is “burnt out〞 and in the cruel world of business there is no room for sentiment: if he can't do the work, then he is no good to his employer, the Wagner Company, and he must go. Willy is painfully aware of this, and at a loss as to what to do with his lack of success. He refuses to face the fact that he has failed and kills himself in the end. When it was first staged in 1949, the play was greeted with enthusiastic reviews, and it won the Tony Award for Best Play, the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It was the first play to win all three of these major awards.Miller died of heart failure at his home in Roxbury,Connecticut, on the evening of February 10, 2021, the 56th anniversary of the first performance of Death of a Salesman on Broadway. 本文讲述了亚瑟·米勒,HY著名的剧作家,以及他的著名的戏剧?男售货员之死?,当这部戏剧第一次搬上舞台时,赢得了宏大的成功,获得了三项大奖。

APhysical fitness refers to good health, and is the result of regular exercise, proper diet and nutrition, and proper rest for physical recovery. A person who is physically fit will be able to walk or run without getting breathless and he or she will be able to carry out the activities of everyday living and will not need help. How much each person can do will depend on their age and whether they are a man or woman. A physically fit person usually has a normal weight for height. The relation between height and weight is called the Body Mass Index. A taller person can be heavier and still be fit. If a person is too heavy or too thin for the height it may affect the health.Mental health refers to a person's emotional and psychological well-being. "A state of emotional and psychological well-being in which an individual is able to use his or her thinking and emotional (feeling) abilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life."One way to think about mental health is by looking at how well a person functions. Feeling capable and efficient, being able to handle normal levels of stress, having good friends and family, and leading an independent life, and being able to "bounce back," or recovering from hardships, are all signs of mental health.Public Health refers to trying to stop a disease that is unhealthy to the community, and does not help in long life or promote your health. This is fixed by organized efforts and choices of society, public and private clubs, communities and individuals. It is about the health of many people, or everybody, rather than one person. Public health stops instead of encouraging a disease through surveillance (监督) of cases. To prevent being sick, it is good to do healthy behaviors, such as hand washing, vaccination programs and so on. When infectious diseases break out, washing hands may be especially important.26. 阅读理解(一)------CSome years ago, writing in my diary used to be a usual activity.I would return from school and spend the expected half hour recording the day's events, feelings, and impressions in my little blue diary.I did not really need to express my emotions by way of words, but I gained a certain satisfaction from seeing my experiences forever recorded on paper. After all, isn't accumulating memoriesa way of preserving the past? When I was thirteen years old, I went on a long journey on foot in a great valley, well-equipped with pens, a diary, and a camera.During the trip, I was busy recording every incident, name and place I came across.I felt proud to be spending my time productively, dutifully preserving for future generations a detailed description of my travels. On my last night there, I wandered out of my tent, diary in hand. The sky was clear and lit by the glare of the moon, and the walls of the valley looked threatening behind their screen of shadows.I automatically took out my pen...At that point, I understood that nothing I wrote could ever match or replace the few seconds I allowed myself to experience the dramatic beauty of thevalley. All I remembered of the previous few days were the dull characterizationsI had set down in my diary. Now, I only write in my diary when I need to write down a special thought or feeling.I still love to record ideas and quotations that strike me in books, or observations that are particularly meaningful.I take pictures, but not very often—only of objects I find really beautiful.I'm no longer blindly satisfied with having something to remember when I grow old.I realize that life will simply pass me by if I stay behind the camera, busy preserving the present so as to live it in the future.I don't want to wake up one day and have nothing but a pile of pictures andnotes.Maybe I won't have as many exact representations of people and places;maybe I'll forget certain facts, but at least the experiences will always remain inside me.I don't live to make memories—I just live, and the memories form themselves.9.Before the age of thirteen, the author regarded keeping a diary as a way of________.A.observing her school routineB.expressing her satisfactionC.impressing her classmatesD.preserving her history解析细节理解题。
