Being fit is a way of saying that a person eats well, gets a lot of exercise, and has a healthy
weight. If you are fit, your body works well, feels good, and can do all the things you want to, like
running around with your friends. Here are five rules to live by, if you are a person who wants to be
fit.
⒈ Eat many kinds of foods, especially fruits and vegetables.
You may have a favourite food, but the best choice is to eat many kinds of foods. If you eat
different foods, maybe you can get enough things that your body needs. Some foods, such as green
vegetables and fruits, are good for your health.
⒉ Drink water and milk most often.
When you are really thirsty, cold water is the No.1 choice. And there is a reason why your
school shop offers cans of milk. Kids need calcium to grow strong bones, and milk is a great source
of it.
You probably will want something other than (除了) milk or water once in a while, so it is OK
to have 100% juice, too. But do not drink too much drinks containing sugar. Too much sugar is not
good for your body.
⒊ Listen to your body.
When you are eating, notice how your body feels and when your stomach feels comfortably
full. Sometimes, people eat too much because they don't notice when they need to stop eating.
Eating too much can make you feel uncomfortable, and after a period, it can make you fat, which is
unhealthy.
⒋ Limit screen time.
What's screen time? It's the amount of time you spend watching TV and DVDs, playing
computer games, and using the computer. The more time you spend on these sitting-down
activities, the less time there is for you to do some sports, like playing basketball, bike riding, and
swing. Try to spend no more than two hours a day on the computer or in watching TV.
