本单元主要介绍了国内外不同的节日，文化气息浓郁，教学内容丰富。

本单元以同学们熟悉的传统节日开始，而且八年级已经学过一些相关的内容，素材来源与学生生活，同学们就有表达的愿望和诉求。

教材Section B 部分主要是围绕西方的两个节日Halloween,Christmas展开，侧重两个节日的文化内涵，让学生更深层次地理解西方文化，激发了学生学习兴趣，提高了他们的学习效率.。

由that, if /whether引导的宾语从句和感叹句是教学重点，学生能利用所学知识表达自己的态度或做回应。

本节课是一节听说课。

首先通过节日向学生呈现中国传统节日，回忆这些节日的名称以及与这些节日有关的文化专属用语，并引入相关短语。

这是本单元的第一课时，应该通过简单的听力活动输入新的语言，发展学生听说能力，让学生体会本单元的主题语言及文化内容，建立一定的感性认识。

学情分析在学习本单元之前，同学们就已经学习过一些中外节日的词汇和句型，而且对于本课时的学习内容，大部分同学已经有了一定的了解，而且中外节日是学生比较感兴趣的话题，这是学习本课时的优势。

另一方面，到了九年级，学生在学习上出现了分化的现象，有的学生英语基础薄弱，语言拓展的运用能力比较弱，而且学习过程缺乏耐性。

教师可以安排这些同学通过复习七年级和八年级的相关内容，熟悉本单元的话题，鼓励学生积极学习，激发学生学习兴趣。
