By watching the DVD, they lead us to know about the pandas and example, pandas love eat for twelve hours a day. Snakes can’t hear, but they can dance…etc.On the other hand , the students know something about the pandas and example, pandas are fat,black and white. Snakes are long and have no legs. They prepare for the text especially the new words before the class. But maybe they can’t recoganize the difficult ones at all, though they may say some and it’s difficult to retell the story for them. So that will be paid attention to in class.Teaching aims:aims①Students can say the new words “snake, bamboo,believe, body, flute,gets frightened, DVD”.②Students can learn , know and talk about pandas and snakes.eg “Pandas eat for twelve hours a day!They love bamboo.” “The snake can use its body to dance. Do you like animals?Ss: Yes.T:So can you tell me what’s your favourite animal?Ss: Yes.Ask some Ss to say out their favourite animals freely.Step2 Lead inAfter the free talk, say “Do you want to know my favourite animal?”(Yes)“There are two riddles of animals. One of them is my ’s have a look.”Show the tips one by one on PPT to let Ss guess out the animals.(pandas and snakes) While guessing, stick the pictures of pandas and the snake and stick the their features learnt from the riddles on Bb.(Teach “snake”)Step2 New text1. Passage1Say “OK,can you guess which is my favourite animal, pandas or snake ?”(Pandas.)Then“Yes, good! Of course Pandas are cute. I like want to know more about pandas. For example, what do pandas love? How many hours do they eat a day? Do you want to know? OK, Let’s watch the video carefully, Daming and his grandma will tell us more.”Show the PPT and play the video. Let the students look,listen and find the answers.They love bamboo. (Teach “bamboo”on PPT with old words and a picture and Stick on Bb)They eat for twelve hours a day.( Stick on Bb)Then lead in “Wow, I don’t believe it.”“There are 24 hours a day, but pandas eat for twelve hours a day. It’s half a day. Wow, I don’t believe it. ”Teach Ss to imitate the tape and learn to say “Wow,I don’t believe it.”in the real situations by showing something more interesting about baby pandas and mother pandas on PPT.①Lead in. “Snakes can’t hear. I don’t believe it. Do you believe it?”②Play the to the tape and find two questions in Passage 2.Do snakes like music?Why does the snake come out of the box?Ask some Ss to say out the questions. Then say“Wonderful. Can you tell me the anwers? Please read again and underline the key words or sentences by yourselves.(Ss read and underline, Finish the task on PPt) Then check out answers. Teach “body”, “flute”, “gets frightened”by doing actions. Stick the features of the snake on Bb.3.The beginning and the end of the text“OK, now we know more about pandas and snakes with the help of Daming and his where do they know from? Read the beginning and the end of the text, then fill in the blanks. ”Showing the task on PPT, Ss read the beginning and the end of the text ,then finish the task.(They know about them from a DVD. It’s a present from Grandma. )Lead in “What an interesting DVD!” .Listen and say it with a real DVD. Stick the DVD and the sentence on Bb.4.Read the text together.Step3 Retell the text.Ask Ss to retell the text according to the Bb(Four stars) or according to the ppt(Two stars). Tell them they can choose any way.Then ask two Ss to have a show.Then let all students retell it together.Step3 Free talk and summarySay “ Boys and girls, after learning about pandas and snakes,what do you think of animals?” Ask children to have a discussion and then talk about it freely.Then have a summary “Animals are cute, kind, great, interesting or dangerous.
