Day!

Hi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I go to

Oakwood Elementary School and I'm here today to share my

awesomely awesome ideas about how we can protect the

environment and planet Earth by planting lots of trees on Tree

Planting Day! Trees are so cool and important. We need to plant

more of them to make our planet greener and healthier.

First of all, trees give us the air that we breathe! They take in

carbon dioxide and make oxygen. Without trees, there wouldn't

be enough oxygen in the air for people and animals to breathe.

That would be really bad! Trees are like amazing air filters that

clean up the pollution in the air from cars, factories, and stuff like

that. Planting more trees means cleaner, fresher air for everyone.

亲爱的老师、同学们：

全球气候变暖、生存环境日益恶化，严重威胁着人类的健康与生存。世界哥本哈根会议“低碳生活”的呼吁和上海世博会“绿色低碳”的倡导，无不证明：遏制气候变暖，发展低碳经济，是全人类共同的使命。为了你、为了我、为了他，也为了我们这个赖以生存的地球大家庭，更为了明天的美好生活，学校工会、团委联合向全体师生发出“倡导低碳生活、共建绿色校园”的倡议，号召全体师生从现在做起、从身边做起：

1.树立低碳意识。低碳经济与校园息息相关，打造低碳校园生活我们责无旁贷，我们要不断增强节能低碳的紧迫感和使命感，牢固树立低碳理念，人人争做低碳标兵，处处体现低碳文化，时时参与低碳行动。

2.养成低碳习惯。低碳并不遥远，就在我们身边!低碳既是一种美德，也是一种生活方式，举手投足皆可低碳。节约用电、节约用水、节约用纸、节约粮食是低碳;爱护树木、不践踏草坪，讲究卫生、不乱丢杂物，健康出行，少乘机动车，也是低碳;不用一次性用品、少用塑料袋、不买不必要的物品更是低碳……

3.开展“校园低碳生活日”活动。与其坐而论道，不如起而行之。为了以实际行动参与低碳绿色校园建设，学校决定开展“校园低碳生活日”活动。定6月3日(周四)为校园低碳生活日。低碳日当天，要求全体师生做到(1)节能减排。全体师生步行、骑自行车或者乘坐公交车进校，不开车、不骑摩托车，以减少二氧化碳排放量。(2)节约用电。随手关灯，做到人走电停; 不开电风扇;不使用电器时，关闭电源,不使用待机状态。(3)节约用水。及时关闭水龙头，不浪费一滴水。(4)节省资源。重复使用纸张，双面打印。(5)合理回收。不用一次性木筷、纸杯、纸巾、餐盒等，减少垃圾。认真进行垃圾分类，合理回收有效资源。(6)爱护学校树木和环境卫生，不践踏草坪、不乱扔杂物。
