Factory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) AuditsCostco WholesaleThe Factory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Audit aka Factory Capability Audit is a requirement for all Costco items. The audit looks at the factories capabilities, capacities, processes and compliance for producing products.The audit provides a transparency to Costco about the factory producing our goods. The audit is not connected to an item, but instead it is connected directly to the factory. This means that in the case of a factory that is producing multiple items, only one audit is needed. The GMP audit looks solely at the factory - no matter whether Costco product or another retailer’s product is being produced at the time of the audit. If your facility has already gone through a GMP audit for a different retailer, please provide that audit, so the GMP staff may review it and see if it meets the needs of Costco.Audit times are typically 1-2 man days and the cost varies by factory location and 3rd party auditing firm around the world.
