Yikes.But hey, at least we've got options besides cars when we need to get around, right? If you need to travel long distances over water, you can hop on a boat or ship and let those babies cruise along the ocean's surface. Some ships are massive cargo vessels that carry shipments of goods across the seas. Others are luxury cruise liners where you can sip pina coladas and work on your tan. Either way, ships are super important for trade, travel, and other maritime needs.Traveling by ship definitely has its perks compared to cars and planes. You get to experience the open water, salty sea breezes, and potential whale sightings if you're lucky. The amenities on modern cruise ships are pretty insane too - pools, theatres, fancy restaurants, you name it. The downsides? Ship travel is slooooow, it can get boring being stuck at sea for days or weeks on end, and hurricanes are a legit concern sometimes.For those times when you really need to get somewhere fast, that's when you call in reinforcements from above - planes. Seeing the world from that vantage point, all the little cities and landscapes below, is something most of our ancestors could have never even imagined. If that's not the epitome of human ingenuity and progress, I don't know what is.At the end of the day, despite some of their flaws, modes of transportation like cars, ships, and planes have utterly revolutionized how we live. Thanks to them, we can travel to practically any corner of the globe for work, adventures, or just to experience new cultures.
