The Book Reading ReportHe was a man, an ugly man who was abandoned by his mother and the society. No one in the world was sympathy with him because of his deformed appearance. Erik lived in the underground city which is designed by him, located in the opera house and was dark and damp. Since he lived there, there always happened strange things. And he was regarded as a ghost. When he found Christine, he fell in love with her. He awarded her a wonderful voice. He taught her to sing songs in the darkness. He only appeared in the night and always wore a mask. He wanted to have her love. He threatened her to stay with him; otherwise, he would kill her lover, Raoul. She couldn’t make up her mind. However, she was so kind that she gave Erik a kiss. Being lack of love, Erik was moved by Christine, he finally let her go with her true lover and he would be alone forever until die.The Erik’s life was tragic. He was ugly in his face and in fact ugly in his soul. He always thought that his misfortune was caused by others but it was made by himself. His heart was as dark as his place. He never opened his mind to others, and never accepted whomever to get in his mind. He only lived in his own world. He is lonely.Christine always regarded Erik as her angle of music, but I think she was Erik’s angle of soul. Her kindness saved herself and her lover, and warmed a cold heart. Kindness can save a man; oppositely, unkindness can destroy a man. A world that looks prettiness as an important thing is very common. In our daily life, we sometimes were judged by our appearance. Good looking can give us luck, because it makes people feel comfortable. On the contrary, bad looking people may be judged prejudicially. It is unfair but on common. Just like Erik, his looking wasn’t good, and even deformed, which made his mother became disgusted with him and abandoned him. In my opinion, the reason that caused his misfortune can be found not only in his own, but also in his mother and the society. We can’t decide what we are look like, but we can control what we do. Sometimes life is cruel, it forces us to be numb and cold. We always have trouble in doing something, and have no chances to choose in many situations. We may usually think that we are lack of strength to struggle. We are helpless. And someone will choose negative actions just like the ghost of the Opera. I think it is stupid. We can do many things when we face difficulties. Believe it or not, an optimistic action can bring us good fortune. The life is fair that if you hold a good spirit, it will return you a good luck. Never complaint how bad you situation is, but always find reasons from yourself. Give yourself a good reason to live, and hold an optimistic mood to struggle with difficulties. Even everyone in the world forgets you; never abandon yourself by you own.

As I walked out of the theater, my mind was still buzzing with the mesmerizing performance I had just witnessed. The haunting melodies, the dazzling stage sets, and the gripping storyline all blended together to create a hauntingly beautiful experience. Little did I know that I was about to encounter a ghostly presence, a mesmerizing phantom that would stay with me long after the final curtain call. The "Phantom of the Opera" production I had the pleasure of attending was a sublime example of theatrical excellence. From the moment the lights dimmed and the orchestra filled the air with their enchanting overture, I was transported to a world of mystery and allure. The talented cast commanded the stage with their powerful voices and graceful movements, effortlessly drawing the audience into their spellbinding story. The central character, the Phantom, was the embodiment of darkness and intrigue. He was a tormented soul, hiding in the shadows of the theatre, manipulating the performers and audiences alike. His haunting presence evoked a sense of both pity and fear, as we glimpsed into the depths of his troubled past. The way he effortlessly transitioned between moments of vulnerability and sheer malevolence was both awe-inspiring and chilling. But amidst the darkness, a love story unfolded. Christine, the young and innocent soprano, became the object of the Phantom's affection. Their unconventional relationship was both beautiful and unsettling, as Christine struggled to navigate the boundaries between devotion and self-preservation. Her angelic voice resonated through the theater, a sound that captivated both the characters on stage and the audience in their seats. The production was a visual feast for the eyes. Elaborate stage sets transported us from the opulent opera house to the candlelit catacombs below. Each scene was meticulously crafted, with attention to every detail. The grand chandelier, a symbol of both elegance and chaos, descended from the ceiling in a breathtaking display of technical wizardry. The costumes, ranging from lavish ball gowns to haunting masquerade outfits, added an extra layer of enchantment to the performance. The musical score was a masterpiece in itself. It weaved its way through the entire production, guiding the emotions of the characters and the audience. From the haunting melodies of the Phantom's signature song, "The Music of the Night," to the heart-wrenching duets between Christine and her childhood friend Raoul, the music elevated the story to another dimension. It was a symphony of emotions, capturing the highs and lows of human experience. But perhaps what struck me the most about "Phantom of the Opera" was its timeless appeal. Despite being set in 19th century Paris, the themes of love, obsession, and the struggle between light and dark are universal and relatable. The characters grapple with their inner demons, reflecting the conflicts we often face in our own lives. It serves as a reminder that beneath the façade of grandeur and beauty, there lies a fragile humanity that is susceptible to both love and despair.Leaving the theater that evening, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had been touched by something extraordinary. The experience of watching "Phantom of the Opera" was more than just a night of entertainment; it was ajourney into the depths of the human soul. The haunting melodies, stunning visuals, and captivating performances left an indelible mark on my heart. As I reflect on my encounter with the theater's phantom, I am reminded of the power of storytelling. It has the ability to transport us to uncharted territories, to awaken our deepest emotions, and to unravel the complexities of the human condition. The magic of the theater lies in its ability to create an immersive experience, where the lines between reality and fiction blur, and we are left with a profound sense of connection. In the end, the phantom remains a specter, forever etched in my memory. His presence lingers, a reminder of the profound impact that art can have on our lives. The theater, with its beguiling charm and timeless stories, continues to beckon, promising new encounters with the elusive, captivating characters that inhabit its stages. And I, forever under their spell, will eagerly return to the theater, ready to be transported once again into their world of shadows and enchantment.。
1. Read each review and summarize what it is saying.Review One: “The Phantom of the Opera” is a horror story, but this movie turned out to be a cotton candy musical romantic movie. And it seems like the audiences were fall into school of musical appreciation when watching this movie.Review Two: The movie remains the same as it was in Gaston Leroux’s original 1911 novel. In this movie, Christine Daan in the “not a girl, not yet a woman” age, so she is easily being duped.2. Pick one review, do you agree with it or disagree with it? Why?In Review One, the author wrote that “As an audience member, you just need to know which school of musical appreciation you fall into.” To some degrees, I agree with this point. When I was watching this movie, I couldn’t help thinking a music class I had when I was in the high school. At the beginning of the class, the music teacher told us that we were going to appreciate a film. The film was related to music, because most of the words in the movie were expresses by singing a song. And these songs are famous in the world. He showed us that there were two films in his hand, and one was funny, one was a little horrible. Finally we chose the funny one, The Sound of Music. And the other movie was The Phantom of the Opera. In my mind, the story is simple and we can find similar topics in other films or books. The reason why the movie is famous, in my opinion, is the music, which is the biggest reason. So, I approve the first author’s idea.3. Using these two pieces as examples write your own review of the film.Who is born to be loathed by others? Who is born to be unwelcomed by others? The girls who called “Nakusa” or “Nakushi” in India are unwanted by their families, just because the families need to pay more for their marriages than boys. The children who are in bad health conditions are always dumped by their parents, just because their parents need to spend a lot of money on curing them. The people who are not as beautiful as others, or we can say, they have something wrong with their appearance are disliked by the people around, just because people like appreciating beauties? The leading role, the phantom of the opera, belongs to this kind of people. He has the face which earned his mother’s fear and loathing. In Christine Daan’s (the heroine) eyes, the face is so distorted and deformed, it is hardy a face. So he lives underneath the Opera house, always in the darkness. He doesn’t know the life outside. He doesn’t communicate with others. When he met the little girl Christine Daan in the opera house and found she was also an orphan, he began to feel pity to her and taught her to sing. The day came; Christin e’s beautiful voice became popular. He came up and took her to his place. They sang together. At that time, she was infatuated with him. But when she saw the face of Erik’s (the phantom of the opera), she was shocked and frightened. When she saw Erik killed a man, she was afraid of him, hated him. Then she began to love Paoul, the new patron. Then the tragedy began. Erik loved Christine and wanted to get her back to him. Finally, she chose Paoul.Christine’s feeling to Erik changed from infatuation to fear and loath, just because of his ugly face. And Paoul, who even couldn’t recognize Christine until he found she was beautiful and shinning on the stage, was only a deceptive man.So the only attractive role in this movie is Erik, the phantom of the opera. He’s a genius. He’s an architect and designer. He’s a composer and a magician. Whether his appearance is good or not, he is the most beautiful role in this film, although he is rude sometimes.People should remember that it is totally wrong to judge a man from only one aspect.。
The phantom of the opera Andrew Roy Webb is a composer of Broadway musicals. Ghost also translated as the phantom of the opera, opera theatre or opera. Premiered in 1986, in 1988 seven received the Toni prize, is one of the musical's four major plays. "The phantom of the opera" music brings us a visual and auditory enjoyment.Whether it is a ghost, Kristen or Raoul can bring us different perception of music, they go to the interpretation oftheir love with your own voice. This is undoubtedly to the audience is a kind of beauty to enjoy music. This is a typical and touching love story, about a mysterious ghost haunts the opera with a mask to hide her ugly face, fall in love with a soprano singer story. There is the complex feelings of the characters, dramatic conflict filled with tension, as well as the nineteenth Century society unique that erupted from rigorous mysterious fear andrepressed. Stage unfolds the Grand Theater momentum magnificent, the ghastly terrorist underground world, sensitive young aristocrat, delicate and charming girl donna. And the face, that is hidden in the callous terrorbehind masked inferiority jealousy, rage and fragile heart, almost all can mobilize the audience emotional elementsare concentrated in the Caston Lehu de in the original work, and in Webb's hands as it brushed the dust, and thensplit fanghua.I think the most wonderful opera arias than the ghost of the first act and the heroine Kristen below the ancient The Paris Opera House, soulful duet "unfathomable depth of two two people of the phantom of the opera", singingmany bel composition, musical motives in different tune again and again, the time that the Yizhenyihuan like sleephalf awakened drama show incisively and vividly, emotional integration will be filled with love and fantasy behaveand plaintive, perfect and moving; use the melody rhythm in a dotted figure, there is a strong push and a sense of tension, produced the first emotional climax of the play, Kristen and the ghost with singing, so that the audience was completely immersed in the beautiful, sincere and somewhat sentimental romantic love story, while also looking forward to the ghost, Kristen, Raoul these two men and a woman's feelings the next will be how to develop. When Raoul of the Christian feelings give affirmation will sounded a The point of no return, I saw Kristen'sfascination with phantom and dependence, I think she is the love of a few degrees of phantom of the opera, but the fact is the phantom of a deep dependence. There is still a "All I Ask of You", is repeated in the play a melody, in different games for different roles have different lyrics. It can be said, this is the theme melody, a different interpretation of different roles, different lyrics, the expression of two men of Kristen different love."The phantom of the opera" is not only made amazing achievements in music and art, in the circumstances of thecontent is more and more audience very deep shock! At the end of the film, the film gives us a lot of imagination.Kristen cemetery next to the corner, a red rose with a ghost had given her the ring, lying there quietly, despite years of passing waves. So quiet ending but let a person feel the wordless true lingering in my mind. The theatre has been dilapidated, youth has become the old man, hegot monkey music box ghost, and be enshrined in thedeath of the wife of the tomb, wish have a sigh of relief, this is his wish, or her last words? To be sure, she never forgot her angel, when her husband saw the grave was parked in a single tied with black ribbon of red roses -- thatis the ghost of a token of love, just set the specter had intended to send her a diamond ring wedding, her husbanddidn't feel particularly surprised the audience saw his maturity and the wife really understand. Time elapsed, roses are red.In short, this is a very worthy of recommendation musical a look, thank the teacher played the phantom of the opera "for us"!
Minnie Driver

Don't overestimate your own strength in the collective, because when you choose to leave, you will find thateven without you, the sun will rise as usual.(页眉可删)高中生歌剧魅影音乐剧观后感歌剧魅影音乐剧观后感1他生下来就相貌丑陋无比,令人恐惧,于是他的第一件贴身衣物就是—面具。

One love, one lifetimeThe phantom of the Phantom, Erik, who was born with a horrible face, was abandoned by the whole society. In his heart, being abandoned by his own parents was a ghost which haunted him and made him suffered a lot. Though he was a gifted artist, he was still a ignorant child in his heart. He has been separated from the outer world when he was only a little boy. All he knew about the world was bondless darkness, endless sadness and continuous lash and reproaching. There was no love in his limited knowledge of the world. That was so terrible that only love- Christine- can illuminate his soul, get him out of darkness, end his sadness, bring him happiness. However, did Christine love him? Who was the true love of Christine, the phantom of the opera or the vicomte de chagny ? Maybe only Christine knew the answer. In my opinion, I think it was Raoul. During my spare time, I have put myself into the world of “The Phantom of t he Opera”. It tells us a mysterious and miserable love tragedy which happened in the 19th century. Christine was one of the unknown actresses in the Paris Opera House. One day she took the place of the most famous part in Faust unexpectedly. She did a beautiful job and everyone was surprising by her amazing talent. At the same time, the “Vicomte de Chagny”Raoul who was Christine’s friend in her childhood was attracted by her, as well. Soon they became fall in love with each other. But the phantom Erik loved Christine too. He tried his best to keepher of his own.Christine had been training in singing, but could not say to whom she was learning to sing. Then Raoul found there was a man in Christine's dressing room. To hear Christine speak to another man that way filled Raoul with jealousy. He wanted nothing more than to discover the identity of his hated enemy. But he found nothing other than darkness when he ran into the room.Raoul asked Christine who was the mysterious man, Christine, but only to tell him that the man was her teacher "The Angel of Music". In Christine's childhood, her favorite stories were ones about the Angel of Music. Her papa often said, “The best musicians will hear the Angel of Music. They can never see the Angel, but the Angel's voice will fill their ears with wondrous music when they least expect. ”When Christine said she had been visited by the Angel in her dressing room, of course, Raoul did not believe in her. Was she trying to tell him that the voice was the Angel of Music speaking? Raoul could not believe it. He believed that the Angel of Music was a legend, he did not exist. The entire situation seemed so ridiculous. Raoul became very sad and angry. He even thought that Christine was having an affair with the mysterious man.At the end, Christine told Raoul the truth when some trouble thing happened. The mysterious man was the phantom of the opera. He taught her singing and loved her very much. Christine was taken into theunderground palace by Erik and saw the face behind the mask. The phantom's face was like the face of death itself. Four holes were where the eyes, nose and mouth should have been. Christine pretended that his face did not horrify her. Erik was finally convinced that she would return to see him. So, he finally let her leave his underground palace. Christine realized that she could not be married with Raoul. So they pretended to be engaged. About a week into the game until Christine dis- appeared. The Persian helped Raoul finding Christine. They found the underground palace and almost killed by the phantom of the opera. Raoul could give up his life for Christine. However, Christine, she agreed to marry Erik in order to save her true lover. With the deeply desperate, Christine said “I hate you, Erik. I hate you with all my heart. You can make me marry you. You can do anything you want with me. But, I will despise you for the rest of our life together.”Something snapped in Erik. He suddenly realized the meaning of love. Christine truly loved Raoul. He knew now hat in seeking her love, he had won her hate. He could not stand it. Nobody could stand that one person he loved hated him with so much passion, even the phantom of the opera. Finally, Erik let all of them leaving the palace. Soon after, the young viscount and the talented opera singer disappeared. No trace of the Phantom of the Opera was ever found. People eventually discovered the underground palace and the lake, but no one could explain who couldhave possibly lived there.Ever since the abduction of Christine, the Phantom never haunted the opera again. As for Christine and Raoul, on one ever heard from them. It is rumored that they took a train north. Some say they disappeared into the Scandinavian countries to live a peaceful, happy life together. It is said that if you visit the Scandinavian countryside, you will meet their descendants. You'll know who they are because they echo Christine's angelic voice.Erik act as a bad and terrible man in the story, but in fact he is just lack of people’s caring. In my opinion, if he parents staying with him, and if there’s someone teaching him and concerning for him. We will see a warm-hearted and happy Erik. As for Raoul and Christine, I am deeply impressed by their uneasy and true love. I admire their bravery in front of the great difficulties. Especially when Christine is disappear. Raoul tries his best to find out Christine, even though it’s very dangerous and thrilling. Raoul uses his own life to protect Christine. Fortunately, they can stay with each other forever. In our real world, not everybody can do as Raoul. Raoul has als o fought against his better judgment of Christine’s birth, his family’s expectations, the inferiority of Christine’s birth, his rank. Of course, Raoul treats Christine as the most important thing. One the contrary, some people treats their position power so important that they often miss other happiness in daily life like true love or family. Many of which often escape from reality, they would rather be the coward. Maybe, we can get what a really want if we could be brave enough. The story gives me a world full of happiness and sorrow. It tells me to be optimistic to the world. It also teaches me to care more about others. And I believe that love and peace will be our world’s main theme. So let’s be friendly to everyone and always be ready to help others. Isn’t that future will be more beautiful?。
A Lack of Love Can Change one’s LifeIn 1880, it was a miraculous thing in Paris Opera. Christine was the heroine of the book “The Phantom of Opera”, who has beautiful voice and was good at singing. This was only for the director back of her. At that time, the partner Raoul in her childhood appeared and was falling in love deeply with her. Everything was changed. The director whom Christine had never seen and was the phantom of the opera also fell in love with her. And then, because of the manager of the opera who didn’t give the 5 box and also some money that the phantom wanted to Erik. Erik, the phantom killed two people. Then he kidnapped Christine. Raoul and the mystery Persians went to look for her. Eventually, Christine realized that the best way to save her lover was to come to terms with Erik. So she kissed him. This made Erik know that Christine’s love for Raoul was beyond her life. Then he left and never appeared. The phantom’s way of love let Christine become intoxicated and also made her frighten. But the love from the phantom was too rude and crazy for her. When the phantom became hysterical, Raoul said that he would give her freedom. So Christine’s choice was only for the need that she needed to be protected but lost her value. In the end, she kissed Erik. Maybe she was not scared of him and wanted to know about him or tried to rescue his soul. Because of lacking love from his mother, Erik had been longing for warmth. For him, Christine was the angle in his life, she brought light for him. He gained love and warmth from her and even gave up his love to help her true lovewithout protest. This is not Erik’s fault. A good looking is not all for a man. Erik’s mother got tired with the ugly appearance of him and let him put on the mask when he was only 2 years old. She never kissed him or said a warm word. This made Erik with and caused all his misfortune. So the love education is the most important thing in one’s life. It can guide one’s behavior and the direction of psychics. What can you guess the world will be if there is no love? People are far away from each other and don’t know how to care the people around them. The world will be so cold that we can not live. For Er ik, love doesn’t mean to occupy. It means to understand. He used his power to love Christine but he ignored the feeling of Christine and brought pressure and frightening. This is not true love.Whatever love, friendship, kinship or even the feeling between strangers, they are all belonging to “love”. Love is mutual and both sides can gain happiness and understanding. This is called “Great Love”.Why not to use our love to make the world become more and more beautiful? Review of the movie——the phantom of the operaAfter enjoying the phantom of the opera, the movie which is adapted from a classicalmusical, a feeling beyond my words filled with my heart. The next day, I bought this DVD and watched it again and again. Though a lot of critics insist that this movie is too gaudy and nondescript, in my mind, it is a perfect amalgamation of the traditional musical and the modern movie. At the beginning of it, the film is in black and white, in most cases, it represents that it is the memory or things happened in the past while this story adopts the flashback and the black and white stands for “nowadays” in it. Maybe it implies that after that romantic as well as horrible affair, after the phantom’s leaving, after the falling of the chandelier, the opera went towards to decay step by step. The shot which struck me the most is neither the phantom’s show to Christine of the under world, nor the kissing between he and Christine, but the revival of the opera when the chandelier in pieces was showed to the people on the bidding block. The gorgeous chandelier ascended by inches. It passed the grand stage, the pews with red velvet, and the elegant sculptures and exquisite frescos which surrounded the luxurious opera and its vaulted roof. It’s fire which illumi nated the state. It’s gust which wiped off the dust of the seats. It’s soft hand which whisked the cobwebs of the sculptures. It’s also paint which recolored the frescos. The classical and shocking music began to play with the deep, a little horrific note at the same time when the dusty cover of the chandelier was unveiled. Flappy dust blur our line of sight. Ashen doves flied at every directions. With no particular reason, this shot made me feel very sad for the great change what time brought, for the romantic story following.A genius of art, the phantom, who was born with a horrible face, was abandoned by the whole society, though he encountered some kind person as the maiden who cried for his pathetic destiny and at last delivered him. However, apparently the phantom did not think so, in his heart, being abandoned by his own mother was a ghost which haunted him and made him suffered a lot. Add insult to injury, his master was even crueler tohim. “It’s in your soul that the true distortion lies.” Christia n said. He didn’t know the value of life. He didn’t know that there are also many beauties which worth cherishing in life. That’s why in the end Christine called him “pitiful creature of darkness”. He was not an evil, not a villain. He was not a sophisticated criminal, not a hardened killer. In fact, though he was a gifted artist, he was still a ignorant child in his heart. He has been separated from the outer world when he was only a little boy. All he knew about the world was bondless darkness, endless sadness and continuous lash and reproaching. There was no love in his limited knowledge of the world. That was so terrible that only love can illuminate his soul, get him out of darkness, only love can end his sadness, bring him happiness and also only angel, his lover, his salvation, in my opinion, he didn’t really love Christine, but his own illusion of her, in his mind, Christine was the sculpture he made, she was always pure, beautiful and the most important, belonged to him. After watching it, it is hard for us to tell, who is good, who is bad in this film. The only thing I was thinking was that all of the three were poor. A lot of my classmates thought that Christine was a peacockish woman because she should stay and accompany the phantom and save it with her love, but she left with Raoul. We always say that beauty isnot the most important. However, how many of us can really pay no attention to the appearance? How many of us can bear the bondless dark and live without security? Raoul was also a victim in it though a lot of the supporters of the phantom think he rapped Christine. He didn’t need her as he has already had so many things. But what did Raoul do wrong? He was such a excellent youth. He was handsome, rich but not proud, also hewas ready to do something for art. The only thing he did was that he fell in love with a girl who fell in him as well. They were all manipulated by the destiny.I will always remember the rose in the snow. It bloomed enthusiastically in the lonely snow. Just like love also always blooms in the most desperate darkness.2011614180111Movie introduction——the phantom of the opera This movie describes love story , which happened in the Paris Opera House in 19th century .In 1882, in the cave deep place of the opera house, lived an ugly music talent , because of his terrible appearance , he had to wear the mask.
