一、教学目标

2. 按照故事内容完成B项问题，并尝试给故事起个名字。
3. 能够通过学习故事，了解动物是人类的朋友，我们要爱护动物，保护动物。

四、教学过程
I. 【Warm-up】
1. 播放本单元Fun Time C部分中歌曲，复习本单元重点内容。
设计意图：创设氛围，使学生快速进入状态。
2. Free Talk
What’s your favourite animal?
Is it helpful?
What can it do for you?
Is it your friend?
What animals are people’s best friend?
设计意图：通过谈话，激发学生的学习兴趣，为本节课的学习做铺垫。
II.【Pre-reading】
1. 教师引导学生看本课故事的配图，猜测故事大意。
设计意图：培养学生学会利用故事配图，观察配图并猜测故事大意的能力。
2. 观察第一幅图，并提问：
1) Where were they?
2) What did the dog look like?
3) Was the dog helpful?
4) What can the dog do for the girl?
设计意图：初步认知文本内容，形成阅读期待。
III.【While-reading】
1.Read and answer.
教师引导学生打开课本，自主阅读故事1并回答刚才的问题。学生在回答问题的同时，教师可将关键词呈现在黑板上：lost her sight, get a special dog, blind, cross the street。
1)They were on the street.
2)It looks like a guide dog.
3)Yes, it was.
4)It can help her go anywhere.
设计意图：初步认知文本内容，验证并预测回答这些问题，理解文本。
2.Follow the tape.
播放录音，学生跟读。
设计意图：整体感知文本1，在跟读过程中，训练学生语音及节奏。
3.Look and answer.
教师出示故事图2，引导观察并回答问题。
1) What happened in the picture?
2) What was the boy doing?
3) What was the cat doing?
4) What do you think of the cat?
设计意图：初步认知文本2，形成阅读期待。
4.Read and answer.
引导学生看故事2，并引导学生回答问题。在回答问题的同时，教师可将关键词呈现在黑板上：heard a terrible noise, get up, licking his face, push away, bit, on fire, pick up, ran out of the
house。
1) There’s a fire inside.
2) The boy was sleeping.
3) The cat is licking his face.
4) ...
设计意图：认知文本内容，验证并预测回答这些问题，理解文本。

设计意图：整体感知文本2，在跟读过程中，训练学生语音及节奏。
III. 【Post-reading】
1.Answer the questions.
1) What is the name of Sharon’s guide dog?
2) Why did Sharon want a guide dog?
3) What can the dog do for her?
4) What is the name of Daniel’s cat?
5) How did Daniel’s cat save him?
设计意图：通过几个问题，再次整体感知文本，同时将关键词再次串联起来，为后面的复述奠定基础。

学生四人一组，有感情的进行朗读。
设计意图：通过组内朗读活动，再次整体感知文章。
3. Retell the story.
学生尝试根据教师展示的PPT关键词进行复述。
设计意图：通过关键词提示引导学生进行复述，提高学生概括能力。
4.Brain Storm
