Kaya has been more than the ideal student. In order to achieve the highest grades and my deepest respect, she has demonstrated outstanding leadership and maintained a clear sense of purpose. The academics at Eastern Little Hope are most challenging, and Kaya fulfilled all the requirements with the added challenge of honors and advanced courses. Kaya is an outstanding extemporaneous speaker and debater. She has won many awards on the speech and debate circuits, and qualified for national tournaments. Success in these interscholastic activities requires extensive research and persuasive skills. Kaya also holds the degree of Special Distinction, as a member of the National Forensic League.Due to its nature of metro, state, and national interscholastic competition, the successful high school forensics student serves by not only representing his or her school but also by representing his or her community as well. One of the requirements in my advanced class is to prepare lectures and guidance for the beginners. With Kaya’ s superior knowledge and involvement in the political sciences, she developed a strong sense of confidence witha charming attitude. Therefore, I could always depend on her to set the best example as an instructor. Because of her natural leadership abilities, Kaya was selected as our Debate Captain. On account of her mature approach to her responsibilities, I often thought of Kaya as a colleague.Since her classmates, my fellow teachers, and I will always hold her in the highest esteem, I sincerely recommend Kaya Stone as the ideal candidate for matriculation at Eastern Little Hope State.Respectfully submitted,Dan Peel, Ph.D.例三To Whom It May Concern:This letter is to serve as my formal recommendation for Andrew Fuller. Andrew has been my direct assistant for several years. He has been interested in obtaining an MBA degree for some time now and I feel that he would be an excellent candidate for your esteemed program.During his time here, Andrew has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a dedication to success. His efforts have produced high quality results time and time again. Last year, Andrew developed and successfully implemented a plan to streamline our production department. The plan was a major undertaking, requiring a great deal of thought and effort on Andrew’s behalf.Though Andrew is my assistant, he is also in an unofficial leadership role. Many of his co-workers seek his advice and support. Andrew is always there for them and is quite comfortable in the role. I feel his budding leadership abilities will become even more effective in a business school setting. For these reasons, I highly recommend Andrew Fuller as a candidate for your MBA program. If you have any questions regarding Andrew or this recommendation, please contact me.Sincerely,John Thomas Operations Manager Tri-State Directories例四Dear Sir:Esti worked for me as my assistant for one year. I recommend her without qualification for your entrepreneur program. While working in commercial production, I often relied on Esti to put together creative presentations, for which she described and outlined the artistic approach to the project, researching illustrations and photographic reference materials. Her creativity, resourcefulness, and ability to see a project through really made these presentations distinctive and successful. When we went into production on the feature film Hotcha, Esti was able to observe every step of the process, sitting in on meetings and working with people in all areas of the production from the moment the production was set in motion through the release of the film ten months later.During this time, she was an effective communicator, often serving as my liason to scattered members of the crew. She also coordinated projects involving numerous people, and her ability to work collaboratively while guiding the project quickly and effectively was outstanding. For example, when we suddenly needed to reconceive several action sequences that had already been storyboarded, Esti quickly found a new storyboard artist on location and worked with him, the stunt coordinator and the cinematographer through several drafts to make sure the new sequences worked, and then communicated with crew members from all departments, making sure everyone was up-to-date on the changes that were relevant to them. She even jumped in to draw a few last-minute storyboard changes herself.Esti's sensitivity, diligence, energy and sense of humor made working with her a joy. I highly recommend her as a welcome addition to the program.Sincerely,Jeff Kook例五To Whom It May Concern:It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I am writing to endorse Alice's application to your program. For the last 25 years at Blackmore University, I have been an ethics professor, as well as mentor to many interns and business students. I hope my perspective will be helpful to you as you evaluate this exceptional candidate. My first contact with Alice was during the summer of 1997,when she organized a summer conference outside of Los Angeles for teenagers interested in communication skills. During the course of the week, Alice presented material with such ease and humor that she set the tone for the entire workshop. Her creative ideas for presentations and activities were inventive and entertaining; they were also astonishingly effective. With participants from a variety of backgrounds, there was often conflict, and occasionally confrontation. While setting limits, Alice managed to respond consistently with respect and compassion. The experience had a profound effect on the participants and, because of Alice's exceptional skill and professionalism, she has been invited by many schools to offer similar management workshopsDuring the time I have known Alice, she has distinguished herself as a conscientious and energetic pioneer in the fields of leadership and management. I have enormous respect for her teaching and leadership skills, and have been pleased to work with her on many occasions.I know of Alice's continued interest in programs related to leadership and management development. She has instituted many impressive programs for her peers, and it has been an honor to consult with her on some of these projects. I have the greatest admiration for her work.Your program of study sounds ideally suited to Alice's needs and talents. She will be coming to you with thequalities of a natural leader: genuineness, intelligence, and integrity. She will also bring her interest in scholarly research and program development. Just as importantly, she would come with an enthusiasm for both learning and networking, as well as a resolute desire to understand new theories and ideas. It is exciting to think of the ways in which she might contribute to your program.I urge you to carefully consider Alice who is, quite simply, the most remarkable young leader I have ever met. Sincerely,Professor Aries St. James Blackmore University。

以下是小编为大家整理好的英文书信书写格式范文,欢迎大家参考学习哦!感谢信【1】20 June 20XXDear Mr. Seaton,Thank you very much for taking me with you on that splendid outing to London. It was the first time that I had seen the T ower or any of the other famous sights. If I'd gone alone, I couldn't have seen nearly as much, because I wouldn't have known my way about. The weather was splendid on that day, which I thought was rare. I still remember some people told me that in Britain there was weather and no climate. During the same day, it might snow in the morning, rain at noon, shine in the afternoon and be windy before the night falls. So I think I was lucky.I think the river trip was the best thing of all. London really came alive for me as we saw it from the Thames during that wonderful journey down to Greenwich. It was all tremendously exciting - a day that I shall never forget.Thank you for giving me such a great birthday treat.Yours sincerely,Linda Chen感谢信【2】20 July 20XXDear Mr. Wang,Thank you for taking the time to write your wonderful letterin support of MCEA (Maywood Chinese Education Association). Your letter clearly articulates all the major reasons children in Maywood will benefit from studying the Chinese language as part of their elementary school education. It provides invaluable support that will help making bilingual Chinese education a reality in Maywood public schools.Although MCEA would like to see Palo Alto public schools implement the first bilingual Chinese kindergarten class in September of 20XX, we have learned that the school district must take the time to understand how a new program will affect existing educational offerings, and to validate community interest. Nevertheless, MCEA, with more than 70 members, will continue to actively promote bilingual Chinese education in the Palo Alto public schools and will keep you apprised of the progress we make. Thanks again for sending a letter in support of MCEA. We' will continue to do all we can to realize this program both for families of Chinese descent and those with a general interest in participating in the growing economic power of China.Yours sincerely,George Chen建议信【3】Sample 121 June 20XXDear Mary,Thanks for your last letter. I'm so glad that you have been able (at last! ) to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I won't be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions. There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station. To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage. When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. But if you feel like some exercise after that long flight, you could stroll down to Cooper Park, which is only ten minutes away ? you can see it from the window.Cheers and looking forward to seeing you.Yours sincerely,Annie申请信【4】Sample 120 March 20XXDear Sir,I was very interested in your advertisement in today's edition of The Evening Post and I should like to apply to be a member of the Amazon Expedition team.I am twenty-three years old and have an honors degree in Botany from Bath University. Since leaving university I have been working in a research laboratory but my contract comes to an end in six weeks. I would particularly like to join the expeditionfor the opportunity it would give me to study the plant life of the area.I enjoy several outdoor activities including rowing and rock climbing and I consider myself to be both fit and healthy enough to undertake such an expedition. If you would like me to attend an interview, I would be able to come at any time convenient to you, (J1) my employers have agreed to give me time off for the purpose.I look forward to hearing from you.Yours faithfully,Lily Ma申请信【5】20 June 20XXDear Sir,I noticed an ad. In the paper today you said you were looking for people to join your expedition team. It sounded as if it might be fun so I'm writing to say I'd like to come along.About myself: I left school at 16 because I wanted to earn a bit of money. After that I got a few part-time jobs as a waiter, etc. But I didn't stick to any of them for long. Recently I've been doing a bit of hitch-hiking round Europe so I've had some experience of traveling the hard way which should come in handy on the expedition you're planning. By the way, I'm a great guitarist so I can keep you all amused round the campfire at night.Let me know when I can call in for a chat about dates and other details, etc.Yours,David Smith申请信【6】12 May 20XXDear Sir,I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years' basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the People's General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic. As a result of the publication in 20XX of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 20XXpatients.Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. Will OakleyInformation Architecture and Design IDr. TurnbullOct. 12, 2006Recommendation List: Changes I Would Make to CraigslistFive years ago I moved to Boston to go to graduate school. For months before my move, I heard stories of the horror that was the Boston Metro Area housing market; tales of how any good apartment is snagged within days of hitting the market, how if you want an apartment for September, you had better find it by June.I flew up to the city several months in advance and I managed to find a decent place with the help of a real estate agent, who was rewarded for his assistance with a fee equivalent to a month’s rent. But I figured that all of the effort and money was well worth it. My opinion changed within days of classes starting. Over and over I heard classmates tell stories of arriving to town a week before the first of September and finding great apartments with ease, free of any agent fees. When I asked them how they had achieved such a realty feat, each one uttered a phrase that has now become familiar to thousands.“Oh, I found it on craigslist.”On a page titled “what we’re about,” craigslist details their goals for their site as: •giving each other a break, getting the word out about everyday, real-world stuff.•restoring the human voice to the Internet, in a humane, non-commercial environment.•keeping things simple, common-sense, down-to-earth, honest, very real.•providing an alternative to impersonal, big-media sites.•being inclusive, giving a voice to the disenfranchised, democratizing ...•being a collection of communities with similar spirit, not a singlemonolithic entity. (Craigslist, 2006)By and large, the site has been successful in achieving these goals, as evidenced by the tremendous success it has been met with since its creation in 1995 (Craigslist, 2006). Craigslist now serves over 300 different regions in all fifty states and in over fifty countries and is the seventh most visited English language website (Craigslist, 2006).However, no business venture can rest on its laurels and hope to survive, and craigslist is no exception to this rule. In many ways, craigslist’s success has had a negative impact on the homepage. For instance, each craigslist homepage features navigation to the craigslists for other regions on the left hand side of the page. When craigslist served only a handful of areas, this provided users with an easy way to navigate to the regional page that was most relevant to them with ease. However, with the huge boom in the markets craigslist serves, this helpful section has transformed into a mass of dozens of links, occupying approximately a third of the homepage’s screen real estate. The sheer number of links in this section creates what Krug calls “visual noise” (2000, p. 38-39). This seems especially true when you consider how most users will never use most of the links and how the website remembers which particular city the user was last looking at. This means that after the user finds the city of most interest to him or her, they will likely no longer need that navigation section. So I decided to get rid of it (See #1). I give users access to the other region pages by placing a link labeled “Choose another region” beside the current city/region (see #2). It’s a slight increase in inconvenience to the user, but since it is likely a link they will useonly once, I think this inconvenience is worth the increase in homepage real estate and the decrease in visual noise.I utilized the gained space to include some advanced navigation forms that I thought might be of interest to craigslist users (see #3). First, craigslist offers the ability to create accounts for users who post often to their sites. I thought that they could also offer users who visit the site often to look at posts the option of creating an account. A benefit of doing this would be gaining the ability to create a custom list that displays the last five posts that contain a search term specified by the user. This would save users time by allowing them a way to get to information they will likely want without having to work their way through the site’s hierarchy or taking the time to use the site’s search feature. The second addition is a form of social navigation, giving users the five most popular search terms used on that particular region’s site. This will give users quick access to popular content, which is more likely to be of interest of them as well. These two new features will help the homepage better fulfill several needs that Krug believes a homepage should satisfy, including providing readers teases of content, timely content, short-cuts, and showing the user what they are looking for, something the current navigation heavy page does not achieve well (2000, p. 97-99).On the subject of navigation, I deleted a great deal of local navigation from the top area of the page. The original has tabs that refer to particular portions of the San Francisco Bay area. However, the abbreviated labels of these tabs are difficult to understand. I tried the tabs on the Boston site and was only able to identify one of the five from the tabs from sight. Labels creating confusion can lead to a loss of users and thus money, as Rosenfield and Morville point out (2002, p. 79-80). Rather than having usersattempt to figure out where they want to go by trial and error, or give up and leave in frustration, I deleted the tabs and inserted a link underneath the name of the city where the user can choose to narrow their search to a particular neighborhood (see #4). I also deleted the small “w” beside the city name that took the user to the Wikipedia article on the city. I believe that if users wanted to see the Wikipedia article, they would go to the Wikipedia website, not craigslist.Likewise, I deleted several of the items in the navigation area on the left side of the screen (see #5). Some I deleted because, like the “w” at the top of the screen, they linked to outside content that I thought was frivolous and not of interest to the user, such as weather or tide. (There’s for that.) Other links were deleted because they were repetitive, such as “help, faq, abuse, legal” link which links to the same page as the “help” link further down the column. “”Subscriptions” was deleted simply because craigslist no longer offers the service.I also moved the search box from the left of the screen to the upper right. According to Nielsen and Tahir, 35% of websites place the search here, rather than %30 percent who place it in the upper left (2002, p. 41). I believe that since most web browsers currently have a search feature on the left hand side of their browser bar the placing of the search in the upper left is much more likely to become a web convention. I also followed Nielsen and Tahir’s advice of not labeling the search box, but using the search button to accomplish that purpose (2002, p. 20). I also changed the button to the same shade of blue as the rest of the page’s unused links to continue the motif and to indicate to users that the button was clickable. Finally, both Nielsen and Tahir and Krug emphasized the importance of a strong logo and tagline (Nielsen & Tahir, 2002, p. 10; Krug, 2000, p. 105-108). To me, the logo for craigslist was difficult to discern from the rest of the links on the page. I considered making a more intricate, image based logo for the site. But I thought about the site’s mission of simplicity, the benefit of quick downloading that having no images offers, and the easy accessibility the current design offers. I decided I would keep the overall logo, which I think embodies the “stripped down” design scheme of the site, a design which keeps it free of distractions and makes it so easy to use. I did, however, what to modify the logo in such a way so that it looked like a logo. I accomplished this by increasing the logo’s size and by adding the tagline “I found it on…” before it (see #7). That phrase still captures the magic of craigslist as well today as it did the first time I heard someone utter it. It summarizes for a new user in only a handful of words what makes the site so wonderful.ReferencesCraigslist. (n.d.). Retrieved October 11, 2006, from .Krug, S. (2000). Don’t make me think!
