教学设计说明
经过多年的英语学习，五年级学生的认知水平已经在不断提高，抽象逻辑思维和创造思维也有了较大发展，并且对英语有较浓厚的学习兴趣，也有一定的基础。但在这个阶段，学生的英语实际应用能力是非常有限的，这也促使他们十分渴望能用英语解决日常生活中的实际问题，在实践中提高自己的英语水平。所以在教学设计方面，教师要针对其年龄特点以及已有的基础，采用文本再构、创设真实的情境让学生去学习语言，运用语言。还要通过各种有趣的活动帮助学生将枯燥的语言变得生动而又易于记忆，让学生在感知、体验和参与中获取知识，形成能力。
在学习本单元前，学生已在四年级学习了表示各个房间的英文词汇，如：living room,
bedroom等；同时，本单元要学习的单词与学生的实际生活息息相关，如photo, water
bottle, bike, plant, clock等; 这样的学习很大程度引起了学生的兴趣，大大丰富了学生日常交流的元素，为日后的学习奠定基础。
单元教学任务分析：
主题： There is a big bed
新版PEP五年级英语上册第五单元主题为 There is a big bed，通过围绕“房间”这一话题，创设了各种房间的情景，让学生能够掌握与房间物品有关和表达方位的英语词汇，并能用There be句型对房间的物品摆设和位置进行描述，在创设的情境中联系实际生活，用There be句型正确地描述出某处有某物。
本单元涉及到的与房间物品和方位有关的词汇有：photo, water bottle, bike，plant、clock，in front of , beside, between, behind，above。而在句型方面，要让学生能够理解There be句型的含义，并且能掌握并运用There be句型进行问答练习，如：—What’s
in your bedroom? —There is ..... —Where is the ......? —It’s in front of the ....... —What’s in front of the..... —There is .....in front of.....
本单元围绕bedroom、room、house、home等情景，先采取Zhang Peng与其他朋友之间的对话形式，对他的房间环境进行介绍、了解，从而贯穿本单元与房间摆设有关的词汇以及句型，最后再采用Zoom和Zip两个人物去在讨论Where is the can’s
home?的故事形式，对整个单元的内容进行巩固总结，使学生能够对自己的房间进行描述，掌握如何表述某处有某物，运用某物在某处的There be句型，联系生活，增加其说英语的自信心。

2、知识要点介绍
1）能够听、说、读、写photo, water bottle, bike，plant，clock，in front of , beside, between,
behind，above这11个词汇。

3）能够学习并掌握辅音字母组合ai，ay在单词中的发音规律，做到发音准确、到位。
