so ... that ... 意为“如此······以至于······”。that 引导的是结果状语从句，其结构是

“so + 形容词/副词+ that 从句”。

Eg: I liked it so much that my father bought it for me.

Such„„that当形容词后跟可数名词复数或不可数名词时，只能用such。如：

They are such lovely children that we all like them.

1. So that以便，为的是，引导目的状语从句, 后面加句子。如：

I got up very early this morning so that I could catch the early bus.我今天早上起得非常早，以便能赶上早班车。

意思相同词组：in order that 后面加句子。

如：I got up very early this morning in order that I could catch the early bus.

类似词组：in order to 后面加动词原形。

如： I got up very early this morning in order to catch the early bus.

2. So„„that, such„„that如此-------以致于--------的区别

（1）若形容词在单数名词前时，既可用so,也可用such，但不定冠词的位置却有所不同，具体表现为：so+adj.+a(n)+n.+that=such+a(n)+adj.+n.+that 。如：

It was so interesting a book that I read it the whole night.=It was such an interesting book that

I read it the whole night.这本书很有趣，我读了一整夜。

（2）当形容词后跟可数名词复数或不可数名词时，只能用such。

如： These are such beautiful flowers that we all like them. （3）当名词前有many, few, much, little等修饰词时，一般用so而不用such。如：I liked it so much that my father bought it for me.

（4）so单独修饰形容词或副词，such单独修饰名词。

如：He is such a man that we all. want to make friends with him.

He ran so quickly that nobady could keep up with him.

3 . be made of “由„„材料做成”，用于能看出原材料的，而be made from用于看不出原材料的。

如：The table is made of wood.这张桌子是由木头制成的。（可看出原材料）

The paper is made from wood. 这些纸是木材做的。（看不出原材料）
