因为是不及物动词,后⾯当然不能带宾语了,但是可以有状语来修饰。

摘要:英语教学作为一门语言教学,一直都是众多专家和学者探讨的课题。
究竟是先教单词后教课文,还是在教课文时教单词,一直都有不少教师在尝试。
本人在多年的教学中发现,如果教单词时能连着句子,词不离句,甚至把它们串成对话和短文,将有助于克服孤立教单词时的弊病,有助于帮助学生在课堂上巩固所学单词和课文内容,提高学习效果。

英语老师都知道,现在的学生多数不爱学习,他们一离开课堂后就不能自觉学习,连单词都记不好,更不要说让他们学好对话、课文了。
所以,教师在课堂上要充分利用好课堂,及时帮学生巩固所学单词和句型,不但要使学生在课堂上记忆和理解新单词,还要使学生掌握和运用新单词。
如果教师能够在课堂上将课堂知识包括单词、重点句子甚至课文融会贯通起来,编成句,编成文章,能够根据学生情况重新“编写”教材,提高单词的重现率,学生的英语学习就能达到事倍功半的效果。
我们学校使用的是由北京仁爱教育研究所编著的Project English 。
该教材着重情景教学,所以没有人教版的那些句型操练,而且又缺少配套练习,所以重点知识不够突出,新单词的重现率低。
如果教师在授课时不分主次,对所有单词和课文平均用力,学生的记忆效果就会大打折扣,课堂效果收效甚微。
为了提高课堂教学的效率,为了能让学生在课堂上就能掌握使用英语,本人仔细研读了该英语教材。
本人在研读教材时发现,该教材每一章节的单词都不是孤立的单词个体,它们多数是彼此相连的,是可以成文章的同一话题中的整体单词。
如果教师能够在教课文前,创造一些真实情景,引导学生运用这些单词,同时把他们学过的一些语法编入其中,让学生在学单词时能准确地使用单词,那么,他们在学课文时就省心了。
因为他们在学课文前就已经把单词复习了好几遍,而且还掌握了课文
中的一些难句和重点句,那么学习起课文来自然轻松多了。
一、编情景式对话
我们以八年级Unit 2 中的Topic 1 You’d better go to see a doctor. 为例。
在126页的单词表中,按照在课文中出现的先后编排了下面单词:have a cold, toothache, dentist, cough, sore, backache, fever, flu, stomachache, at night, coffee, tea, boil, boiled water, lift ,这些是课文25页26页的新单词。
当我一看到这些单词的时候,我马上就想到了人们平时经常出现的各种小毛病的情景。
于是,在使他们掌握了这些单词的发音后,我开了一个话题:
老师:请(病)假用英语说就是ask for a (sick) leave 。
你们平常不是经常会有同学请假吗?(然后我指了指当天请假没出操的学生。
)What’s wrong/the matter with him? (写在黑板上。
)Say it in English .
学生:He has a headache.
老师:What should he do? (鼓励学生用本节重点词should ,并写在黑板上。
)学生:He should go to see a doctor. (写在黑板上。
)
老师:Does he need to see a doctor now?
学生:No. Maybe he should take a rest first. (Maybe是上一单元重点词)
显示了重点句型,为了能够把刚学的表示病的单词“串”起来,我又开了另一个相关话题:
老师:If a man has a cold, what will he be like?(顺便复习条件状语从句。
)学生:Maybe he’ll have a fever and have a headache.
Maybe he’ll cough all the time/day and night(下一节学的短语,提示学生适当运用。
)
老师:What should he do?
学生:He should go to see a doctor and drink more boiled water.
……
这样,虽然我在讲授单词时花了比较多的时间,但是学生掌握新单词就容易多了,自然,他们使用起这些新单词就准确得多。
而且,因为该课难点和重点在学单词时就掌握好了,所以,在教课文时就可以快度点了,时间还是可以省回来的。
二、滚雪球式扩展和运用单词
1. 几个单词或短语一起记忆
如教Unit 1 中Topic 3的新单词foreign 时,我利用构词法知识让学生推测出 foreigner的词义。
之后,我就说:
“foreigner”comes from “foreign”. It means “A person who comes from a foreign country.
当教了下一个短语 make friends后,我要学生表达:
I made friends with a foreigner yesterday. 我昨天和一位外国人交了朋友。
2. 加入旧版本的常见短语
在Project English一书中,有些单词是没有列出与之构成的常用短语的,这需要教师在讲授的时候要注意加上去。
例如Unit 1 中Topic 3的新单词pick,单词表中没有列出其他版本有的短语pick up sth./sb.捡起某东西/顺便载了某人。
我会举一些常用常见的句子如:
Pick the money up, please./Pick up the money, please.请把钱捡起来。
(我会顺便讲动词+副词的短语的特殊用法。
)
I picked Ms Zeng up on my way home.我在回家的路上顺便载了曾老师。
(我是顺便复习短语on one’s way home 。
)
三、列举近义词或同义句。
有些课文中比较难记的近义词或同义句子,可以在教单词的时候就让学生认识,等他们学课文时,已经是在复习巩固了。
以 Unit 1 ,Topic 3为例,在22和23页中有以下新单词:the People Republic of China, host, take place, modern, Greece, motto, ring, symbol, stand for等。
我会和学生聊聊2008奥运会的事情,然后让他们熟悉用英语表达:
China hosted the 2008 Olympics./China was the host of the 2008 Olympics.
The 2008 Olympics took place/(was held) in Beijing.
The first Olympics took place/(was held) in Greece in 1896.
The motto of the Olympics is “Faster, higher, stronger”.
The Olympics rings are a symbol of/(stand for) the Olympics Games.
利用以上教词汇的艺术,把单词编成句子、对话甚至短文,鼓励学生运用新单词,提高了新单词的重现率,在课堂上既帮助了学生记忆单词,又使学生的学习成绩大大地提高,从而调动了学生学习英语的积极性。
