W: Not yet. What is the weather going to be like on Saturday?

M: How about a picnic at Rock Park? Spring is a good season for that.

W: Good idea.

you ever been there?

W: No, it’s my first visit here. How can I get there?

M: You can get there by Bus No. 3.

W: How far is it from here?

M: It’s about 20 minutes’ ride.

W: That’s a long way. Well, could you tell me where I can catch the bus?

M: There is a bus stop on Bridge Street, opposite the subway station. That’s not far from here.

M: An article about wild animals in the magazine. It says that few wild animals will eat a man if

they’re left alone. Even a lion may run away if it meets a man.

W: Really? Don’t lions kill and eat men?

M: Actually they only kill and eat men when they have grown too old or sick to catch their food.

Men are afraid of wild animals, but they don’t know wild animals are afraid of them, too.

W: That’s interesting. Oh, it’s already half past five now. I’m a little hungry. Time to prepare

dinner.

M: Where is Mom? She hasn’t come back yet?

W: No. She went to Grandpa’s. She won’t come back till tomorrow morning. So I’ll cook tonight.

M: Is Grandpa better now?

W: Yes. Mom called this afternoon and said Grandpa is much better now. But she’ll stay there for

one night to make sure everything is all right.

W: You don’t seem to be in a good mood. What’s wrong?

M: I’m afraid I have to move. The owner wants to increase the rent. You know, I don’t earn a lot

of money.

W: How much do you have to pay now?

M: Now I only have to pay 500 dollars a month. But if I continue to live there, I’ll have to pay 100

dollars more per month. I cannot afford it.

W: Why not share an apartment with a friend?

M: I don’t like living with others. I prefer to live alone. I’m not good at dealing with others. I once

lived with a friend, but in the end, we didn’t even talk to each other.

W: What happened?

M: He had some bad habits, but I didn’t know it before we lived together. I asked him to change

his bad habits, but he didn’t listen to me. I insisted, so in the end, he started hating me.

W: What were the habits?

M: He liked smoking in the apartment. He also liked inviting his friends over for drinks, which I

hated.

Hi! I am a boy from England. I have a big family, my dad, mom, elder sister and younger

brother. I’d like to tell you a little about our everyday life.

The day starts at about 7 o’clock when Dad and Mom get up. We have breakfast at 8 o’clock.

After breakfast, my sister, brother and I put on our school uniforms and go to school. Dad goes to

work by car. Mom, my sister, my brother and I go to school by bus. My mom works in a hospital

near our school. School starts at 9:00 am and it is over at 3:15 pm. After we get home, my sister,

brother and I usually watch TV. Dad usually gets home at about 6:30 pm. We eat dinner at about

7:00 pm. In the evening, my sister, my brother and I usually do our homework before watching

TV again. Mom helps us with our homework. On Saturday, my brother goes to the football club,

my sister goes to dance classes, and I go to the basketball club. On Sunday, we usually go to the
