Children should begin their formal schooling at an early age
People have different views on what children should do at a very early age. Some
think that children should begin their formal education and start to spend most of their
time on studies. Others believe that it is still time for young children to play. Both
views are based on respective ground.
Those who argue for the playing time for children suggest that children at a very
early age are still too young to focus their attention on learning. Their brain may not
be ready for serious studies such as comprehension and memorizing learning
materials. These people are partially right, for it is true that young children can hardly
concentrate. Their attention on one thing lasts for no longer than 15 minutes or so. But

第一类： 记叙文
（1）记叙文的概要, 一般包括记叙文的六个要素(who; when; where; what; how; why), 也就是考生应先通读阅读短文，找出这六个要素,然后用自己的话将这六个要素串成一两句话即可。当然, 不一定每篇记叙文都包含这六个要素,但“某人做了某事, 结果如何”是应当包括的。因此, 要写好概要, 需找到以下两个问题的答案：
1）谁做了什么？(who did what)
2）结果如何？ (what was the result)
☆ 特别提醒：如果是夹叙夹议的文章，还要找主题句或利用“写作内容”给出的提示，写出故事给我们的启示、教育或其中的一个道理。
（2）记叙文概要的参考模版：
The story is about …, from which (启示）......
The passage mainly tells us that …, which shows that（启示）......
The author thinks / points out / tells us / holds the view that …, through which（启示）......
According to the article, we know that …
写作项目是全国高校英语专业学生八级考试（TEM-8）五大项目之一，它的分值占总分的20％，考试时间为60分钟。该项目要求考生在规定的时间内根据提示写出300字左右的文章。文章力求做到观点清楚、例证充分、结构严谨、层次清楚、合乎逻辑、语言得体、无重大语法错误。
要想写好一篇文章，考生应该注意以下几点：
(1)审题
在写作考试中要写出符合题目要求。高质量的作文，第一步是审题。所谓审题，就是通过阅读写作题目及相关信息或要求，正确领会题目的含义，了解题目要求，为构思合乎具体写作要求的文章思路及框架打下基础。数年来TEM-8写作项目已形成自身的特色。这个特色就是，该项目内的几个部分（观点、情景、标题、写作要求）具有内在的联系，从而构成一个整体。因此，审题就意味着不是仅仅浏览一个标题，而是要兼顾其他部分。只有这样，学生才能真正明确写作目的，领会写作要求。
以TEM-8—1997的写作项目为例。该年的标题是 SOWING THE SEEDS，NURTURING
GROWTH AND HEARVESTING THE REWARDS。如果我们孤立地看题目的话，就很难领会该篇作文的具体要求和目的。但是，一旦我们把标题与前面的情景与观点部分联系起来，这个标题的含义就变得清晰：它要求学生用标题所含的耕作过程来比拟获得大学学业成就的过程。同时，对具体语篇模式的要求（即ANALOGY）也显示在这部分中间。至于对作文修辞框架的要求，则出现在标题下面的一段文字中。总而言之，提高审题的准确性有利于学生理解题目含义，了解写作要求，进而有针对性地构思作文内容、布局等。然而，在历年写作阅卷中我们发现，审题有误仍是学生经常犯的错误之一。
归纳起来有以下几点：
1）不熟悉TEM-8写作的设计特点，以为只看标题即可 着手写作。这常常导致在文章内容上出现严重偏差。 2）对情景观点部分的理解一知半解，未经仔细斟酌就提笔写作文。这往往会造成学生采用错误的语篇模式。

Of all the great changes that have taken place in the system of
compulsory education, school uniform of diverse patterns has proved to
be a success. Today, however, a controversy towards school uniform
