Teamwork is all about working together to achieve a mon goal or purpose. Is teamwork out of

date? Why is it so hard to effectively conduct teamwork in those days?

One way we employ teamwork in everyday lives is by being a parent, It is parents' job to teach

their children the basic skills and give them the knowledge they need to be successful in life. This, to

me, requires teamwork. For example, the mother teaches her children manners and good health skills,

while the father teaches them how to catch a ball or drive a car. However, in today's society, we find

that more and more parents are feeling that this teamwork is a one-sided thing. According to a

report ,there are 13.7 million single parents raising their children in the US and this could be due to

the fact that parents don't take responsibility for their children, so they leave one parent to do it alone.

This is a sad fact, and it reflects that effective teamwork is losing ground in the parenting aspect of

our everyday lives.

Another place where teamwork affects us greatly is in our jobs. It doesn't matter if you have a

small pany or a large pany: if you have at least one employee and yourself, then teamwork works. I

have noticed that with the current economic recession (衰退), people are racing to grab jobs but the

quality of people's work has gone down greatly. It just appears to me that people do not take pride in

their work any more. They get to work as fast as they can, just to receive the paycheck, but their

quality standards fly_right_out_of_the_window. So I think teamwork is losing ground in the

workforce.

As you can see, we run into the aspects of teamwork in just about everything we do. Do you

believe teamwork is really losing ground in today's society? I think it is.

My daughter recently asked me what a travel agency does. There is one located on our street

and it has just been pletely rebuilt. I told her that they helped people book their trips and vacations.

“Why haven't we ever been there?” she wanted to know. “Because we do everything ourselves

online these days” I explained. “But why do it yourself if other people want to do it for you?”

she wondered out loud.

The answer is that the travel agency makes a little bit of money on each ticket you book

through them. If you book your ticket yourself online, you save that money. Saving money sounds

great except that when you think about it you typically spend three evenings paring prices to end up

saving $30 on a $300 trip. All those $30 discounts add up of course so I guess we should be happy

with that.

Consider books for a moment. Buying your book at Amazon saves you maybe 30% to 40% on

each book. Add to that the convenience of shopping from home and getting the package delivered to

your home address. So far so good. Unfortunately, that does mean you spend too much time

browsing Amazon. while you could do something fun instead. Like maybe reading an actual book?

Then the package arrives and you aren't home and end up having to pick it up at the local
