The Proposal
Chancy carefully took out a jewel box. He could not help but rubbed it like a hundred times. He knew he kept sweating. After all, he was going to propose to his girlfriend Julie in the later dinner. He had dreamed about this coming moment million times and his heartbeat struck quicker and quicker.
Julie is Chancy’s eight-year close friend. In the former time, they just got together to drink coffee, went to the same club, hung out with other joint friends. Although they have spent pretty much time together, they have never generated love emotion to each other. But after they took part in their friend Mark’s wedding, they began to care about each other and started their dating time.
“Honey! There you are!” A sweet voice coming out of Chancy’s thought. Here came Julie, his beloved girlfriend. Chancy gently took her chair out and they began to order their food.
Julie suddenly felt cold and asked her boyfriend for his coat. He slowly grabbed his coat but he touched his jewel box.
“I can’t ruin this big surprise for her.” Chancy thought.
“Sorry, dear, I can’t give you my coat.” Said Chancy.
“Why?” Julie asked in doubt.
“Why didn’t you remember to bring your coat here? If I give you my coat, I can be cold.” Chancy answered bitterly. Julie had no idea there was a big surprise but felt Chancy’s indifferent.
In the process of eating, Julie suddenly saw her ex-boyfriend, Richard, who was coming into this restaurant. Because there were no vacant table,
so Julie asked him to join them and ate together. Chancy got no chance to propose.
When Chancy got home, he felt very depressed. He thought Julie realized his weird actions, but he still wanted to give her this surprise. So he decided to create a big reversal.
He constantly told Julie that he despises marriage and marriage is the least useful thing happens in the world. Anyway he said lots of bad things about getting married to let her know he is not going to marry her. Julie was very upset.
The next day when Julie was at work, Richard came to her office and told her that he was still deeply in love with her. He said. “ I know you have Chancy after that day in the restaurant, but only can he offer you marriage and take good care of you, I will let it go. If he can’t promise you anything, I will marry you. OK?”
Julie was in deep, twisting thought. She still loves Chancy but he showed loathing over marriage. She decided to ask Chancy one more time whether he will marry her or not.
But Chancy still stuck to his plan and never change his word. Julie cried out of the room . Chancy thought everything was smooth but later their friend Mark told him the ex-boyfriend thing. Chancy felt collapsed. He was going to upset her but offer her a bigger surprise by proposing to her in a suitable time. It is ruined.
Chancy sadly reached his home. He slowly opened the door but the room was filled with romantic candles. Vaguely he saw Julie standing in the corner and heard her saying, “ You wanted it to be a surprise.”
It turned out to be another reversal. Julie told Mark about Richard and Mark had to tell Julie Chancy just wanted to give her a huge surprise, and that’s why he was getting so weird before. Julie was happy and they came up with this surprising idea.
In this room, Julie slowly kneed down on one leg and said. “Chancy, in all my life, I never thought I would be so lucky as to fall in love with my best friend…” She choked with sobs.
Chancy also kneed down and said s oftly, “ I thought, it mattered when I said, and where I said it. Then I realized the only thing that matters is that you. You make me happier that I ever thought I could be. If you let me, I will spend the rest of my life to make you fell the same way. Julie, would you marry me?”
The ending is happy. They got married and have had a happy life since. If you truly love someone, do not let him(her) go. Just marry.。
