Presentation
1. Show the picture of the text.
Depart the students into four groups. Each group has two maths problems.
Is this sum right, boys and girls?
After they finish it, the teacher ask the students.
Yes, it’s right. Your homework is good.
The sum is wrong, let’s try to correct it.
Teach the two words: right and wrong.
2. Now, let’s count from 1 to 100. Teach the students how to count numbers. Pay
attention to the difference of thirteen and thirty.
3. Ask the students to count the numbers one by one quickly. And correct the wrong
ones.
4. Listen to the tape of Part A, and repeat after the tape. And at the same time ask
some students to translate it into Chinese sentence by sentence.
5. Do some sum exercises. The teacher say some sums orally, then let the students
say right or wrong. Such as:
T: Four and five is seven.
Ss: No, that’s wrong. It’s nine.
T: Three and two is five.
Ss: Yes, it’s right.

Consolidation
1. Do some listening exercises. Ask the students to take out a piece of paper. The
teacher say some sums, let the students write them down on their papers, then tell
the answers. Let’s see who is the first one to do the sum right.
2. Free talk among the students.
2 . Listen to the tape of Part A and Part B. And imitate after the tape.

1. Ask the students to count the numbers from one to one hundred.
2. Do some listening exercises, do some sums. Such as: What’s eleven and twelve?
It’s twenty-three.
Presentation
1. Play a game. The teacher show her two hands, and ask:
T: Is there anything in my hand?
Ss: No, there isn’t.
T( put a short chalk on her hand) Is there anything in my hand?
Ss: Yes, there is.
Then the teacher hide her hands behind the desk, and then show her two wrists, and
ask them that question. Let them guess if there is anything in her hand. If there is, let
them guess in left hand or right hand.
3. The teacher write the sentence on the blackboard. And then let the students read
after the tape.
4. Ask some students to act as the little teacher to play this game.
5. Give the children three minutes to read the story in Part D by themselves. Then
the teacher play the tape of it, let the students read after the tape. And ask the
students to translate it into Chinese.
6. The teacher tell them how the words which have the letters “pl” pronounce. And
read after the tape, and ask them to recall more words which have these two
letters.
7. Learn to write the two words right and wrong.
