英语故事阅读是外语阅读最常见的形式之一。
《普通高中英语课程标准(2017年版)》要求普通高中英语必修课程、选择性必修课程和选修课程将故事纳入语篇类型中。
故事融合口头语和书面语,能够为英语学习者创设相对自然的语言学习环境,缩小母语和英语学习环境之间的差异;读故事能够让读者获取信息和新行为范式,触动情感从而认同故事角色,改变对世界的认识、激发行为等。
[1]结合现有研究,故事阅读教学要求教师指导学生在理解过程中围绕故事内容建立一个情景模型(Situational models),包括故事角色、角色目标、为实现目标而开展的活动、遇到的障碍、角色间的冲突、心理活动等。
理清事件之间的因果联系是故事阅读的关键所在。
[2]Gernsbacher 1990年提出的“結构建构框架”(Structure Building framework)认为,理解的目标是建造连贯心理表征或结构,包括“奠基”(Laying a Foundation)、“映射”(Mapping)和“转移”(Shifting)三大认知过程[3]:用初始输入的信息建立起一个基础心理结构,奠定基调,简称“奠基”;当后续信息与原结构一致时,就把该信息“映射”到原结构上,使其继续发展;若后续信息与原结构不一致,则被“转移”到新的子结构上。
