眼神透露出的10个信息(英汉对照)There is a reason why eyes are often called windows of the soul. While we can choose our words and control certain facial expressions, our eyes never lie. They portray our thoughts, reflect the lightest shades of emotions, express interest, boredom, surprise, approval, or disbelief. Without words ever being spoken, our eyes have the power to attract, to judge, to frighten and to caress. You have probably witnessed yourself how often a parent can hush playful children just by giving them the look. Or how a young couple can flirt with each other across the table without ever saying a single word.

Facial expressionsPerhaps you don’t know that in our life only 7% of human communication is through the actual words, and 93% of what we communicate with other is non-verbal. It’s an extraordinary data for us to think about how important the body language is. We use body language every where and every moment. It reveals the secrets of what you think and what you want, including the world leaders, sports stars, common people everyone on the world. We can separate the body language into three main parts, the body, the face, and the voice. Each part is relevant. If we become sensitive to the clues of these can help us communicate more effectively and understand other more easily. As a main part of body language, Scientists have dissected thousands of different expressions that appear on human face. Paul Ekman is an American psychologist who was a pioneer in study of emotions and their relation to facial expressions. He found that there were in fact seven universal expressions of emotions on the face: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, contempt and disgust. We all have them. There is no barrier of ages and countries. They appear pretty much the same way in our face. In our faces, we have 43 muscles. Different motions or positions of the muscles constitute our facial expression. There are some features of different facial expressions. Happiness: crow’s feet wrinkled, pushed up cheeks, movement from muscles that orbits theeyes. Sadness: dropping upper eyelids, losing focus in eyes, slight pulling down of lip corners. Anger: eyebrows down and together, eyes glare, narrowing of the lips. Fear: eyebrows raised and pulled together, raised upper eyelids, tensed lower eyelids, lips slightly stretched horizontally back to ears. Surprise: eyebrows raised, eye widened, mouth open. Contempt: lip corner tightened and raised only one side of face. Disgust: nose wrinkling, upper lip raised.Nowadays we emphasize facial expressions more than before. Technology like face reader is being used in all sorts of fields, such as consumer researches, marketing researches, security inspections and so on.Facial expressions lie in many secrets which we don’t know. Face is the index of mind. Generally, our faces can tell all about our moods and feelings. But sometimes a person doesn’t want to reveal his emotions and doesn’t want other know the truth. He will hide something. Perhaps this is a reason why we are interested in face analysis. Sometimes we try to hide something consciously, but the truth is written on all our faces. There is even more information to be gleaned from the human face if we have got the skill. It takes a keen eye to spot what’s known as a micro-expression. It is the expressions that come out quickly from our emotional state before we have time to think about them. There are some examples that help us know it better.Arnold Schwar Zengger is an Austrian American actor, politician and served two terms of the 38th Governor of California from 2003 until 2011. He was reported that he had extramarital love. During his campaign for Governor, he was responding to allegations sexual misconduct. At the speech, the micro-expression can explain that he was angry about having to make this apology and being attacked. He opened his mouth, and his nose muscle flared upwards into a momentary snarl. But it seems people didn’t spot this. Three days later, he was elected Governor of California. In 2004, a formal world champion track and field athlete Marion Jones held a press conference following allegations that she had been taking performance-enhancing drugs. Micro-expressions conflicted with what she was saying and revealed her true emotions. Her eyebrows were up and coming together in the corner, almost like a fear, surprise and fear almost together. The fear and surprise, it’s the dominant emotion that is leaking out subconsciously. Ideally that she was telling the truth, we would like to see the brows coming down. There was a hot spot that she created an unbelievably sad expression. The facial expressions seem to be at odds with someone is saying, or inconsistent with how they would be expected to behave in a given situation. Jone s’s facial expressions didn’t go with what she was saying. Three years later all that had changed, when she emerged from court to face the media again, having been found guilty of lying under oath to Federal Agents, she seemed more relaxed.Susan Smith is an American woman living as a prison inmate who was sentenced to life in prison for murdering her children. The case gained worldwide attention shortly, due to her claimed that a black man carjacked her and kidnapped her sons. However she told a lie. There was a fake cry, no real tears. We know when you start crying, your sinuses swell up, your nose starts drowning, and you start swallowing then the tears come out. But we didn’t see any of that in her face. Smith’s performance was peppered with hot spots. We didn’t see any stress in the forehead. She was closing her eyes, thinking about what she would say or thinking about what she did. Compared with Smith, during the same press conference her husband, David, his brow was down and he was engaged in stress. He showed his emotion. The fleeting facial expressions often escape our notice. We need to open our eyes and look at the body language. If we pay more attention to it, we can find something special and meaningful.。

介绍眼睛的使用英语作文Title: The Marvels of the Eyes: A Comprehensive Exploration。
Introduction:The eyes, often referred to as the windows to the soul, are one of the most fascinating and complex organs in the human body. In this essay, we will delve into the remarkable functions and capabilities of the eyes, exploring their anatomy, physiology, and the vital role they play in our daily lives.Anatomy of the Eyes:The eyes consist of several intricate components working together seamlessly to provide us with vision. At the forefront are the cornea and the lens, which focus incoming light onto the retina located at the back of the eye. The iris, a colored muscular structure, regulates theamount of light entering the eye through its central aperture, the pupil. Surrounding the eye are muscles responsible for its movement, allowing us to scan our surroundings effortlessly.Visual Processing:Once light enters the eye and strikes the retina, a complex process of visual perception begins. The retina contains millions of light-sensitive cells known as rods and cones. Rods are responsible for detecting light intensity and are crucial for vision in low-light conditions, while cones are responsible for color perception and visual acuity. Signals from these cells are then transmitted via the optic nerve to the brain, where they are interpreted, allowing us to perceive the world around us.Functions of the Eyes:Vision is undoubtedly the most prominent function of the eyes, enabling us to navigate our environment, recognize faces, and appreciate the beauty of the world. However, the eyes serve other essential purposes beyond sight. They play a crucial role in non-verbal communication, conveying emotions, intentions, and reactions throughsubtle movements and expressions. Moreover, the eyes contribute to our sense of balance and spatial awareness, aiding in coordination and mobility.Protective Mechanisms:To safeguard their delicate structures, the eyes are equipped with several protective mechanisms. Blinking, for example, helps spread tears across the surface of the eye, keeping it moist and free from debris. The eyelashes act as barriers, preventing foreign particles from entering the eye, while the eyebrows help divert sweat and other fluids away from the eyes. Additionally, tears produced by the lacrimal glands serve as a natural lubricant and possess antimicrobial properties, further protecting the eyes from infection.Impact of Vision Impairment:The importance of vision becomes evident when considering the impact of vision impairment on anindividual's life. Those with visual disabilities face numerous challenges, from difficulties in performing everyday tasks independently to limitations in accessing education and employment opportunities. Therefore, preserving and protecting vision is paramount, underscoring the importance of regular eye examinations and proactive eye care practices. Conclusion:In conclusion, the eyes are remarkable organs that afford us the gift of sight and facilitate countless aspects of our daily lives. 10 Most Important Eye ExpressionsThere is a reason why eyes are often called “windows of the soul”. You have probably witnessed yourself how often a parent can hush playful children jus t by giving them …the look‟. Or how a young couple can flirt with each other across the table without ever saying a single word. The language of our eyes is one of the most powerful and effective tools of non-verbal communication. And many times our success at a job interview, during business negotiations or on a first date depends on our ability to convey the right messages with our eyes. This is why it is so important to learn how to read the body language of the eyes and interpret it correctly. Here are the 10 Most Important Eye Expressions that we witness every day:1. Smiling eyes.Psychologists have long noticed that a sincere smile starts with our eyes. When we are genuinely happy the skin around the corners of our eyes crinkles, while a …social ly polite‟ inauthentic smile touches only our lips. Have you ever been in a situation when a shop assistant smiled at you, offering help and you immediately got the feeling that they were just trying to sell you something? Well, now you know why. The smile you had been given was not in the eyes.2. Shy eyes.People who avoid eye contact during a conversation are often perceived as insincere, deceptive and untrustworthy. Practice shows that this is not always the case. As strange as it may seem, a clear sign that someone is being dishonest is greater eye contact, not a lack thereof (as a liar knows we are looking for signs of deception and purposely prolongs eye contact). What does little or no eye contact mean then? Anything from shyness, to nervousness, to boredom.3. Friendly eyes.Looking a person straight in the eyes while carrying on a conversation sends a few clear messages to your interlocutor: you are comfortable in their company; you are relaxed and confident; you are paying attention to the conversation. This is why so many public speaking experts and motivational coaches advice maintaining eye contact with your interlocutors to make a positive first impression.4. …Shut‟ eyes.Covering the eyes, shielding the eyes, lowering the eyelids for a long period of time is a hard-wired unconscious attempt to block out something that we do not want to hear. For example, a man who is asked to work on the weekend may cover his eyes with his fingers rubbing them as he answers, “No problem”. What his gestures are portraying, though, is how he really feels about the prospective of spending his weekend at the office – he is not happy about it at all.5. Blinking eyes.Psychologists and body language experts have noticed that when we are nervous or troubled about something our blink rate goes up. Often such behavior is seen with liars. Although, it takes more than increased blinking rate to accuse someone of lying as the same reaction is often seen with people under stress.6. Drooping eyes.Have you ever talked to someone and got the impression that the person was not listening to you? That is because you saw a lack of eye blinking or what we call a …blank stare‟ on the person‟s face. Another not so obvious signal of boredom is a covert glance up and to the right. If you notice this body language of the eyes in someone you are talking to, accompanied by repetitive finger or foot tapping, yawning, and glancing at their watch take it as a sign to change the topic of conversation to something more stimulating.7. Calculating eyes.Eyes that move from side to side or look down are often an indicator that a person is processing information. As it turns out, it is much harder for us to maintain eye contact, while making calculations, because in this case our cognitive energy is divided between perceiving our surroundings and making the calculations. This habit of looking down or to the side when considering the right way to answer can backfire at a job interview as it is often erroneously interpreted as insincerity and a desire to hide something, so be careful not to glance away too much when talking!8. Squinting eyesSquinting or narrowing the eye orbits indicates with great accuracy discomfort, stress, evaluation and even anger. If you get squinted eye expression right after you say something, it could probably mean that the person doubts your words, disagrees with you or does not fully get their meaning. Therefore, it helps to clarify what is bothering your interlocutor before a small misconception turns into a heated argument.9. Interested eyes.In 1975 a distinguished psychologists Eckhard Hess found that the pupil dilates (increase in size) when we are interested in the person we are talking to or the object we are looking at. However, when interpreting this indicator, you must also take in to consideration the illumination of the room, as in darker surroundings our pupils will naturally dilate to let in more light.10. Glowing eyes. They say that when someone is happy, their eyes glow, while when the person is sad or depressed the glow of “light” in the eyes tends to fad from sight. Well, this is not just our perception. There is substantial research indicating that when our mood changes, the glow in the eyes changes as well. How to make your eyes glow with happiness and joy? Unfortunately, there is no other way then to become happier and learning to appreciate the small pleasures that life gives us daily!。
