中央区向北三四公里，纽约的贫民区就坐落在此，这里道路破旧，随处可以见成堆的垃圾，街头有大量的流浪汉，区域内一年就能发生几十起重大案件，低收入家庭每周排除领取政府补助，但根本供不应求，很难想象几站地铁的距离，相隔着两个截然不同的两个世界，纽约时而天堂，时而地狱。
