Hello,everyone.Today I’d like to introduce Hayao Miyazaki and his cartoons to you.Let’s look at some posters.Have you ever seen or listened these movies?Monster Princess,My Neighbor Totoro,Castle in the Sky,Kiki's Delivery Service,Spirited Away,Howl's moving castle.Well,All those movies are created by Hayao Miyazaki,who is a Japanese manga artist and prominent film director and animator of many popular anime feature films.He is a legend(传奇) of Japanese animation industry.I will introduce it in the following parts,The Introduction of Hayao Miyazaki,Some Representative films,Some sceneries in the films and The main ideas expressed in the films.The first part is the Introduction of Hayao Miyazaki.He is born in Tokyo in January 5th,1941.and his family owned a factory that built airplanes.fell in love with planes and flying at the early age.If you are familiar with his films,you must have seen the often breathtaking flying scenes that are his personal trademark.At that time,Television cartoons are big business in Japan, where around 40 new animated TV series are produced every week.Having produced some of Japanese TV animations, Miyazaki found that television was too restrictive,and prefered to make full-length animated movies.These are his experiences in animation.he joined toei animation in April 1963 and worked as an animator.In 1984,”Nausicaa of the Valley of the wind”was released,which was ahuge success,enabing Miyazaki and Takahata to set up their own company,Sthdio Ghibli.They were finally free to centrate on doing what the liked best:making high-quality animated feature films.His achievements are as follows.an Oscar for lifetime achievement in 2014;the 87th Academy Awards;and the 2018 lifetime achievement awardThe second part is Some Representative films. So far, Miyazaki has created more than 50 animations, each film is stunning. Of course, it was done in collaboration with his team.These are his early works.and here are his recent works.we may be familiar with the movies like Castle in the Sky,My neighbor Totoro,Spirited Away and so on.Now I’d like to introduce two of my favorite filmsThe first is Spiried Away.This film tells the story of a girl named Chihiro who accident came to a supernatural world.In the world,her parents becames pigs because of edacity(贪吃).To rescue her parents,she got a job in the Soup House with the help of a young boy named Haku.This is a story about growing up, friendship and finding ourselves.Here are some roles in the films.Chihiro is the image of an ordinary little Japanese girl.In the film, She is placed in the Soup House, a reflection of modern society,no parents to rely on,she learn to use her own potential to survive.Finally,her kindness and perseverance saved her parents and friend.Haku is a dragon that once lived in human world in a river called "amber river”, He entered the Soup House to learn magic.However, his behavior is controlled by Mother Tang's curse.Finally, he finds his forgotten real name and past, and helps Chihiro and her parents leave the town.The faceless man,Represent those who have no self, He was empty and lonely;Mother Tang,represent human greed.and the rot god,represent human damage to water resources.and these are other roles in the films.The second is Howl’s moving castle.which tell that an expert hat maker named Sophie has changed from a beautiful 18-year-old girl to a 90-year-old woman because of offending the witch. She enters a moving castle, where she meets Howl, who can't fall in love with anyone but knows magic, and works with the rest of the castle to unlock the spell.The third part is Some sceneries in the films.look at these pictures.They are all about the natural sceneries.most of them are forest,green,comfortable,leisurely,pure and fresh.here are some humanity landscapes.this is the architecture in Spirited Away.it’s set in Hongya cave,Chongqing.really beautiful.These are the European style architecture.and the early Japanese style architecture.This is a shot of the great Kanto earthquake in The wind rises , which took Miyazaki 15 months to make just for four seconds. He has reached a certain level of perfection.The fourth part is the ideas expressed in the films.It can be summed up as free and peaceful,female consciousness,growing up,man and nature.In his films, many of the main characters are able to communicate with other creatures in nature.The main characters in the seven animated films all contribute to maintaining the ecological balance.His films advocated the idea of harmony with nature.The main characters in his works are mostly women. 80% of the characters are heroines.
