The most fascinating arrangement is to make models in person. If you would like to come, you’d better learn about the history of Chinese architecture in advance.I am sincerely looking forward to your presence. Please rely soon.Yours truly,LiHuaI was standing by my car when a man with broken English suddenly appeared. He said if he could he would help me. I said I thought there was a gas leak because I smelled it. He got under the car, and 2 minutes later, he slid out and said it was all fixed. He asked me to start it up and see if it worked well. Actually, at first, I was a little skeptical. But I did as he said. To my delight and relief, my car did indeed roar to life and had power.I thanked my rescuer and asked him if I could pay him for his help. He shook his head instantly and politely refused my offer. I thanked the nice man again and gave him a big hug. My heart was full and said he was a blessing in my life. His face lit up and had a beautiful smile. My sister and I were both teary eyed and extremely grateful. There are so many stories of rudeness and unkindness to others but I have been blessed many times by kind and helpful people.英语听力原文Text 1W: I won the first prize in the National Writing Contest and I got this camera as an award!M: It’s a good camera! You can take it when you travel.Text 2M: What would you like for dessert? I think I’ll have apple pie and ice cream.W: The chocolate cake looks great. But I have to watch my weight. You go ahead and get yours.Text 3W: The queue is so long. The movie is going to start in 15 minutes!M: It’s the weekend... I guess we just have to wait...W: Oh, look! They opened another counter.M: That’s great. Let’s queue over there!Text 4W: Our telephone bill goes very high this month!M: How much is it? I’ve made several calls to the USA.W: No wonder! But I think you can get it through the money changer, in the shopping center across the street.Text 6W: So how’s our presentation about the restructuring of the company coming along?M: Fine. I’ll start with a brief review of the reasons for the changes. After that, I’ll outline the new company structures. Then I’ll hand it over to you to discuss the timeline and summarize and will take q uestions together at the end. Anything else?W: Oh, yeah, we should let the staff know the channels of communication. Do you know who they can contact or direct questions about these changes?M: Yes. But there’s a problem. As I start describing how quiet it is to be out in the woods, I keep mentioning how much effort it takes to keep going. But that’s not part of my paper. Now I don’t know how to explain t hat feeling of peacefulness without explaining how hard you have to work for it. That’s common, right?M: Yeah, I guess so...Text 8M: Miss Jones, could you tell me more about your first job?W: Yes, certainly. I was a marketing consultant, responsible for marketing ten U.K. hotels. That’s why I’m very interested in this job.Text 9M: And where is this?W: These photos are from the Taj Mahal in India. We went there about ten years ago for our honeymoon. M: It was really romantic!W: Yeah. The Taj Mahal was a very romantic place. The guide told us there is a famous love story behind this building that all Indians learn in school. She is only 10 years old, but she has been playing the sport for four years, and she loves it.“The one thing I like most about tennis is the game. It just really gets my attention more than anything I do. It just brings up the fire in me.”Andrea lives in Washington, D.C.She is one of around 900 children who use the free services of the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation. The Foundation was set up in 1955. It gives children from 8 to 18 years old a chance to play tennis, and learn school-related and other skills.Audra Bell works with the Foundation. She says the lives of children change when they decide to join the program. “They learn discipline and they learn mental toughness (坚韧) and all of the things that tennis teaches you as a whole. It’s really amazing to see.”The group’s president, Rebecca Crouch-Pelham, continues. “You’re on the court, you’re playing singles, you’re by yourself and you’re relying on yourself.”。
Many people desire success, yet few of them have tried really hard to achieve their goal . Blaming their failure on lack of ability , they fail to realize that it is lack of efforts that leads to their undesirable situation. What made me realize the above truth was my experience in the first year of high school . Top student as I was in junior middle school , the poor scores I got in the first two tests in high school made me realize that all my classmates were overachievers , who seemed tobe much more clever and capable than me . So stressed was I that I just gave up trying , getting distracted in class and pitying myself for not being a genius. Fortunately , the teacher in charge of our class came to my rescue , telling me that I should have more confidence in myself ,adapt to high school and put more efforts in my study .Inspired by what he said , I made a plan for my study and spared no efforts to carry it out . Tired as I was , I was glad to see my efforts off . Now , I work as diligently as before and I am referred to as an overachiever as well .。

录音稿1.W---Ah… it’s such a lovely day. It reminds me of last week, doesn’t it remind you of the same thing?M--Oh sure I mean that was just so fantastic, that holiday!--I love that city, you know.2.M--Peggy, what are you doing going through all those newspapers?W--I’m trying to find a flat and I’ve got to go through all these advertisements. I just can’t find anything good.3.W--well Mr Thomson. The first and important thing I have to tell you is that … mm… there is really nothingseriously wrong with you… physically that is. My…er …my very thorough re-examination and the …the report show that basically you are very fit. Yes… very fit…M--Thank goodness.4.M--Oh, come in, take a seat. I’m the Careers officer. You’re Cathy, aren’t you?W--That’s right. I’m Cathy.--And you ‘d like some advice about choosing a career?--Yes, please5.W--Hello, John. Nice to see you. Come in. How are you?M--Fine, thanks. A nn. And how are you? I expect your students are keeping you busy at this time of year?--Ah, well. I can’t really complain. Now, I don’t think you’ve met Peter Patterson, haven’t you? Peter, this is John Middleton. He’s the local lawyer.6W: Hi,Stuart. how's school going?M: Oh, hi, Lisa. School is really , really tough right now, exams are coming in twoweeks.--Geez. Stuart, you sound stressed. Exams, yes, I used to dread this time of year. I used to stay up before and hope I was studying the right stuff.--That's the hard part of studying last minutes; you run out of time, have to pick and choose areas of focus and guess what will be on the exams. It's always a bit of a gamble. To add more stress I have a part-time job on top of studying!--Can't you take some time off from your job, Stuart?--No, I need the money to help pay my board. I thought I was doing pretty well all term balancing school and work, but now I'm finding it's next to impossible finding the time to both study and work. After coming home from my job I have to hit the books for a few hours every night, whether I have the energy or not. Sometimes I just want to go to sleep...I'm so tired--Well, Stuart, you know it's not going to last forever. It's like you just have to find that extra energy to get through it all. Before you know it, you've graduated! Twenty years from now you will look back on this time and remember all the fun you had.--No doubt, thanks, Lisa. I know you're right. I'll probably even look back on my job with fondness too.7W: Hi, Alan.M: Hi, Rachel. I did not feel good ye sterday, and couldn’t make it to class. Because I am not doingvery well in this course, I am wondering what Dr. Millard covered in class yesterday.-- Well, we had a lecture on sustainable development in forests. Dr. Millard pointed out some of the advantages and disadvantages of it.-- I noticed the next chapter in our textbook is called “Sustainable Development”. Chapter 6, isn’t it?-- Yes, we covered the first part of Chapter 6. He told us to read from pages 156 to 170. Also, during the last half of class we divided into groups of three for a project. The groups had to come up with their won topic on some aspect of sustainable development. The group I’m in, with Harry and Susan, didn’t focus too well, and we didn’t even come up with a topic. A couple o f groups seemed quite focused. The project is due a week from Friday.-- Was I put in a group?-- I don’t think so. There were about 4 or 5 students missing today. Perhaps, if you showed up for class early on Wednesday and spoke with Dr. Millard, he could assign you a group.-- Did you take lecture notes?--Yes, I did. I was just going to put them on my computer. Would you like me to email them to you?-- Oh, yes. Thanks very much.8M--Parcel Express, good morning. Can I help you?W--Good morning. I’m thin king of sending a parcel to New York next week. Can you tell me what the procedure is, please?--Certainly. When you ring us, we need the following information: the invoice address, that’s probably your address, isn’t it? And then, the pickup address if that’s different. And a contact phone number.--Just a moment, I’m taking notes. Phone number, right.--Then we need the full name, address and phone number of the person you’re sending the parcel to.--Ok, anything else?--Yes, the weight and size of the pa rcel. That’s height, width and length. And the value of the goods and a full description.--Value, description.--Yes, but don’t’ seal the parcel. You need to leave it open so that the driver can check the contents when he collects it. After the recent bom bing, the airlines said that we’d have to check all parcels. They told us we had to do it.--Fine, now last question. How long will the parcel take to get to New York?--One to two working days. There are daily flights at midday. And if we collect the parcel from you at 10:15, then your parcel catches that flight and it’ll arrive within 24 hours.--Right, thank you very much. You’ve been very helpful--Not at all. Goodbye.--Goodbye.9M: Hi, I’m Martin. Have you just moved into Room 315?W: Hi, I’m Julia. Yes, I just got here. Nice to meet you.-- Nice to meet you. Where are you from?-- I’m from a small town near Vancouver, Canada. What about you? Is that a Swedish accent I hear?-- I’m from Stockholm. I’m impressed you knew my accent.--My grandparents are Swedish. So I have this booklet with the rules and regulations. It looks likethere are a lot of them.-- Not really, there is an attempt to keep the place quiet and tidy. The quiet policy is in effect from 11p.m until 6:30a.m, but it is self-policed. You are not allowed to smoke or cook in the rooms.-- So do we all use the same kitchen?-- Yes, and we generally all do our own cooking ,although sometimes on Sunday night, we do a pot luck then have leftovers for a couple of days.-- Is there a storage area?--Yes, in the basement.-- I can’t think of anything else. Is there anything we haven’t covered?-- Hmm. Take extra care not to lose your room key and always lock your door. It’s a 15 minute walk to the Housing Society to get another room key. It also costs $5. Do you have a car?-- No.-- That’s good, as parking is a problem. Here comes Tony, let me introduce you.10Attention all passengers, platform change, this is a platform change. The train, now standing at platform 9, is the 10:48 train, calling at all stations to Nanjing. Please note, the train on platform 9 is not the 10:52 train to Jinan. Thus, a nearby restaurant usually becomes their dining-place. However, home-cooked meals are better for many reasons.First, home-cooked meals are cheaper. A family can buy a wide variety of cheaper fresh food at the supermarket than in a restaurant. Next, you can buy exactly the food you like. Restaurants sometimes serve meals with vegetables that are not wanted. Finally, home is a more relaxing place to eat. Family members can learn more about each other quietly at home than in a busy restaurant. In a word, eating at home is better than eating out.。

However, many people are not aware that chances are always for those who get well prepared. I didn’t realize it until I went to high school.Soon after I became senior one student, a singing competition was to be held in school. I love singing but I was very shy then and had never sung at the top of my voice in public. I could only sing to myself most of the time. Somehow, I wanted to have a try. When I talked about it with my parents, they inspired me to follow my inner voice and told me as long as I got well prepared, I would make it. With their encouragement, I became confident and practiced hard after class. Sometimes, I would turn to my music teacher for help. When I felt I was ready, the day came. Standing on the stage, I took a deep breath and began to sing with my full emotions. It turned out that I won the first prize .This experience has taught me a precious lesson in my life. If you are not successful yet, most probably you haven’t been well prepared. Once you have, chanceswill surely favor you.听力录音稿:Text 1:W: Hey, Mike! What are you doing here?M: Mary! It gives the girls not only free accommodation but a splendid environment to learn the language.W : It may well have been that way before, but does the system work like that now? It’s become more of a business now, hasn’t it? In many cases it merely gives the families a chance to make money from the girls, without giving the girls achance to learn the language.M : Not at all. It is a very good way, you know, of bringing people of different nationalities together. And anyway, the girls continue to come over in the thousands.W : Yes, but don’t they complain that they find it hard to meet English people, especially people of their own age?M : I’m not sure that is so. The interesting thing is that in spite of everything the girls are really quite content, there is evidence for this, you know.W : Yes , that is all very well, but don’t you think it’s surprising that very few of them keep in touch after they go back home?。

Since you asked me about the National Day celebrations this year, I am honored to tell you some details. It was in order to show our love for the motherland that my school held a singing competition the day before the National Day. Every class was required to choose a song about loving our motherland to compete against each other and we practiced a lot before the final competition. Without doubt all the students tried their best to sing well. Owing to our efforts, my class won the first prize in the end, which we thought was the most significant gift for our country. On October 1st, there was a grand Chinese military parade on the Tiananmen Square to celebrate the 70th birthday of our country. Most people in China watched the live broadcast of it on TV or on the Internet, which was supposed to be one of the most popular events during the 7-day holiday. In a word, never have I experienced a more unforgettable holiday before. How I wish you had come to China and watched the parade with me at that time!Best wishes!YoursLi Hua听力原稿Text 1M: Are you going to the first floor too, Madam?W: I am going to the parking lot. They say with "hip-hop treatment”, many of the words to the hip-hop songs can reach out to people with emotional problems. A team of doctors wrote a report about this in a special medical magazine. The doctors said a lot of hip-hop music speaks of getting over hardships and big difficulties in life. The report on hip-hop and mental health says hip-hop artists use their talents to des cribe their world and be free. There’s often a message of hope in the lyrics. The doctors chose five hip-hop songs for the treatment. One of them is “the Message” by Grandmaster Flash. Another is called “Juicy” by the Notorious BIG. This tells people they can be successful even if others say they can't. BIG explains how teachers said he would be nothing, but then he became a superstar.。
