【第一卷】『利立浦特（小人国）』

1699年,外科医生格列佛随"羚羊号"出航南太平洋.不幸中途遇险,格列佛死里逃生,漂到利立浦特(小人国),被小人捆住.利立浦特人用专车把体积巨大的格列佛运到京城献给国王,他的出现几乎吸引了小人国所有的人.格列佛温顺的表现逐渐赢得了国王和人民对他的好感,他也渐渐熟悉了小人国的风俗习惯。后在国民帮助下，回到英国。

【第二卷】『布罗卜丁奈格（大人国）』

格列佛回家不久,就随"冒险号"再次出海,不幸又遇上风暴,船被刮到布罗卜丁内格(大人国).格列佛被一位高达20米的农民捉住.农民带格列佛到全国各大城市展览,最后来到首都.

格列佛在该国的第三年,陪同国王巡视边疆.几只鹰在空中争夺,箱子掉进海里,被路过的一艘船发现,格列佛获救后,乘船回到英国.

【第三卷】『勒皮他、巴尔尼巴比、日本游记』

在家呆了一段时间,格列佛又随"好望号"出海.这一次,格列佛所乘的船遭贼船劫持,格列佛侥幸逃脱,被一座叫"勒皮他"的飞岛救起.

格列佛又游览了拉格耐格王国,见到一种长生不老人"斯特鲁布鲁格".离开该国后,格列佛来到日本,然后乘船回到英国.

【第四卷】『慧骃国游记』

格列佛回家后五个月,受聘为"冒险号"船长,再次乘船出海.途中水手叛变,把他囚禁了几个月,然后被放逐到"慧骃国".在这里,格列佛遭到一种形状像人的名为"耶胡"的畜生的围攻.幸亏一匹具有智慧的马——"慧骃"来给他解了围。

六． 读后感

小说的第一卷中所描绘的小人国的情景乃是大英帝国的缩影。英国国内托利党和辉格党常年不息的斗争和对外的战争，实质上只是政客们在一些与国计民生毫不相干的小节上勾心斗角。

One of the most interesting questions about Gullivers Travels is whether the

Houyhnhnms represent an ideal of rationality or whether on the other hand

they are the butt of Swift's satire. In other words, in Book IV, is Swift poking fun

at the talking horses or does he intend for us to take them seriously as the

proper way to act? If we look closely at the way that the Houyhnhnms act, we

can see that in fact Swift does not take them seriously: he uses them to show

the dangers of pride.

First we have to see that Swift does not even take Gullver seriously. For

instance, his name sounds much like gullible, which suggests that he will

believe anything. Also, when he first sees the Yahoos and they throw

excrement on him, he responds by doing the same in return until they run

away. He says, "I must needs discover some more rational being," even

Gulliver's Travels is a classic work of satire written by Jonathan Swift

in the early 18th century. This novel follows the adventures of Lemuel

Gulliver, a ship's surgeon who finds himself shipwrecked on a series
