The best way to learn English is to use it. I try my best to use it in daily life, such as writing an English

and watch English movies. Joining the English club is also a good way to practice spoken English. I often

write English letters to my epals who live in America or England. Besides, I make English study plans so

that I can make good use of my time to study English, which really helps me a lot in my English study. I

② Methods of learning English

Here are my methods of learning English.

First, I usually watch English movies and listen to English songs. I think it's a relaxing way to learn the

correct pronunciation and proper expressions. Second, reading passages on the same topic helps a lot in

learning new words. In this way, the new words can be repeated and I can understand their meanings better.

What's more, it’s a good habit to keep a diary in English. That helps me think in English and improve my

writing skills as well.

English is a bridge which connects the world and us. It's interesting to learn it. I hope I can make

greater progress in the future.

How to be a good learner

To be a good learner, we should have good habits and ways of learning.

We need to get ready for our lessons before class and always listen carefully in class. After class,

we must go over the lessons and finish our homework on time. It’s good to study in groups and help

each other. We should do more reading in our free time. If we have any problems, we’d better ask

others for help. As a student, working hard is important, but don’t forget to do sports and keep

healthy.

I think all above is helpful to us to be a good learner.

The MidAutumn Festival

Lunar August 15th of a year is the MidAutumn Festival. It is one of the most important festivals in

China. It is also a Chinese traditional festival. On this day, people often get together to have a big dinner

with their family. At night, people often enjoy the bright full moon and eat all kinds of delicious mooncakes

in the open air. The mooncakes are round like the moon. They carry people's wishes to the families they love.

Some people don’t e back home until midnight. How happy they are on this day! This is the MidAutumn Festival in China. I hope you’ll like it.

The Spring Festival

I think that my favorite Chinese festival is the Spring Festival. It’s one of the most important festivals

in China. It’s also a Chinese traditional festival. It is celebrated in January or February.

Before the festival, people clean their houses. They think cleaning sweeps any bad luck. They make

their houses beautiful with paper cuts. On the eve of the festival, family members get together and have a

big meal. Then they watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. At midnight, they set off fireworks to wele the

New Year.

During this festival, people visit their relatives and friends. They wish each a happy year and good luck.

They eat all kinds of delicious food. It is my favorite festival because we kids get lucky money from old

people. Everyone has a good time during the festivals. It makes me feel happy.

I was so glad to get your email. My favorite traditional Chinese festival is the Dragon Boat Festival. It

is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month

every year. It’s a day to remember Qu Yuan, a great poet.

On this day people usually eat zongzi and hold dragon boat races. They also drink realgar wine, hang

Chinese mugwort around the doors and wear a spice bag with them.

What makes the festival special for me is the dragon boat race. The members of the dragon boat team

have such great team spirit — everybody tries their best to win the race.
