2. It will be snowy and hot today.

snowy是形容词，表示“雪的，多雪的”。它是由名词snow+y构成，大多表示天气的形容词，都可由名词后加-y构成。

3. It’s rather cool today,isn’t it?

rather在此是副词，表示“相当地”。此句是反意疑问句，回忆反意疑问句的变化方法。

文本分析

本单元的主题是“Olympics and Records”,共6个语篇；第一个语篇为Danny想创造一个新世界纪录，但浅尝辄止；本课是单元的第二课，为两封电子邮件。在邮件中，来自加拿大的Danny和中国笔友李明就“Record”这一话题进行了交流。Danny谈到了自己所在班级的两个纪录和两个世界纪录及自己最喜欢的纪录；李明主要提到自己刚打破了校跳远纪录；两人都表达了自己对纪录的感受。

文章中，对纪录进行描述时，用到了形容词和副词的比较等级，此语法项目在八上第五单元已出现，本单元继续学习并在语境中加深对比较等级的理解和实际运用。本文的价值取向在于学生通过对本文的学习，能够正确认识“Record”的价值所在。
