Unit 7 Will people have robots?

Section A

教学设计

Period 1 1a-1c

教材分析

本节课是一节听说课。首先通过机器人的图片设置问题Do people have robots now?和Will people have robots in their homes in 50 years? 引起学生对现在和未来的思考,从而导入新课并输入目标语言。因为本单元是学生学习一般将来时( will)的重要组成部分,一开始应该尽量让学生接触丰富的语言材料,感知、体会目标语言的运用,并进行模仿性输出。

教学目标

1.学生能学会重点词汇以及目标语言。

2.熟练运用目标语言谈论未来的世界。

3.在听的过程中体验感知目标语言在真实语境中的应用,并学会提取关键信息。 教学重难点

重点:future, environment, building

难点:1 -Will people use money in 100 years?

-No, they won’t. Everything will be free

2. There will be (more/less/fewer) free time.

3. more, fewer, less表示数量的用法

课前准备

让学生课前通过各种信息源了解人们对于未来世界和生活的各种预测。准备好录音机,制作多媒体课件及学案。

教学过程

Step 1: Lead-in

Ask students: Do people have robots now?

Students would probably say that robots are working in factories.

【设计意图】

把学生引入一般现在时态的情境,也为下一步进入一般将来时态并谈论将来作好铺垫,同时也能给学生较强的时态对比感。

Step 2: Presentation

Ask students two questions:

1. Will people have robots in their homes in 50 years?

2. Will people have robots in their homes 100 years from now?

【设计意图】

在未来,机器人能否走进我们的家庭生活,问题贴近学生的生活实际,让学生有表达的欲望,有话可说并自然而然地接触到一般将来时态。

Step 3: Listening to 1a

Before listening

Ask students:

1. to read the predictions in la;

2. to check A for agree and D for disagree;

3. to discuss their ideas with their partners following the example in 1c.

T: What are other people’s predictions? 【设计意图】

观察与思考引导学生在听前浏览、预测和判断信息,形成信息期待。

While listening

Work on lb

Ask students to listen for the first time and circle the predictions they hear.

Listen and check the answers.

Listen and repeat to their pronunciation and intonation.

【设计意图】

通过听的方式输入功能句型,达成知识目标,先听后读,培养学习英语得良好习惯,同时可学习正确的语音语调,争取能让学生说一口标准流利的英语。

After listening

Work on 1c

Ask students make predictions about the future.

Homework:

未来100年后的生活会是什么样的?请你写出六个预言。

I think....... in 100 years.

教学反思

本节课的设计体现了任务型教学的设计理念。整个任务链的设计均围绕学生生活实际,逐层递进,逐步完成各个环节,最大限度地调动了每一位学生的积极性。

Period 2 Section A 2a-2d

教材分析

教学过程

Step 1: Free talk

A: Do you think there will be robots in people’s homes?

B: Yes, there will. I think every home will have a robot.

A: Will kids go to school?

B: No. Kids won’t go to school. They will study at home on computers.

T: Everything is possible.

【设计意图】

让学生迅速进入课堂主题。

Step 2: Work on 2a&2b.

T: What about people, free time, pollution, cars, trees in the future?

1. Before listening, ask students to circle the words according to their own predictions.

2. Listen and circle the words they hear.

3. Check the answers.

4. Listen again. Check(√) the predictions they hear.

5. Listen and repeat to improve their pronunciation and intonation.

【设计意图】

通过听的方式输入功能句型there will be以及比较级more,fewer,less; 先听后读,听前听后有思考;指导学生如何在听到信息后快速记录。

Step 3: Work on 2c

Make conversations about the predictions in 2a and 2b.

The teacher gives evaluation.

【设计意图】 引导学生运用合作学习得方法或者更为灵活得方式巩固所学得功能句型,实践语言,鼓励学生大胆张口模仿表达,培养较好地语言表达习惯;培养学生运用目标语言进行交际的能力。

Step 4:Work on 2d

1. Ask students:

T: What do you think of the environment in our city today?

S: It is polluted.

【设计意图】

把学生引入对现在环境问题的思考,为下一步用一般将来时态谈论未来的环境和城市和词汇方面的准备。

Ask students: Will the pollution be better or worse?

What will happen in the future according to the book Jill is reading?

【设计意图】

未来的城市环境会是怎样,无人得知。设置这两个问题可以激发学生阅读的兴趣。

2. Reading.

(1) Give students the questions:

What will the future be like in the book?

What can people do?

(2) Ask students to read the conversation and answer the questions.

(3) Check the answers.

观察与思考让学生带着问题阅读,提高阅读后获取信息的效率。

【设计意图】

通过阅读快速获得主要信息,熟悉其中的话言,为接下来的口语表达活动作准备。

Step 5: After reading

1. Ask students to read the conversation again and pay attention to the oral English.

2. Ask students to repeat after the tape.

3. Role-play the conversation

【设计意图】

让学生跟读模仿来体会所学语言结构在真实语境中的使用,掌握正确的语音语调并学习使用连读、不完全爆破等技巧。
