F-7M/FT-7 AIRCRAFT GPS MODIFICATION SCHEMEOne , F-7M modification GPS1 SummarizeThis is about GPS Modification scheme that F-7M/FT-7 for BAF.2 System Composition2.1 One display control unit of GNC-300XL GPS.2.2 One GPS transformer.2.3 One GA56 antenna .2.4 One AT016 GPS antenna.2.5 One power transformer box .2.6 GPS Emergency-normal communication change-over switch .3 Configuration Modification3.1 High frequency antenna install place modification3.1.1 Move battery and move relation cables on cover.3.1.2 The cover will be drill one small hole about 20mm on it. For the high frequency cable connect. see Fig-1Fig 1 High frequency antenna install place3.1.3 According to the hole of the AT016 antenna produce, drilling 6 holes about 10mm with the antenna match 2124T851 and cover of the battery. Then, install it on down cover of the AC with 6 pc HB1-202-M6-26.See Fig-2Fig 2 AT016 antenna install position3.2 Upper equipment cabin seal plug fixed position .3.2.1 Move the transceiver, electron parts and vertical gyroscope etc relation accessories on upper equipment cabin.3.2.2 It will be drill two holes on upper equipment cabin left 6 frame for install seal plugs. the position will be fixed according to the AC status.3.3 Install GPS main machine (control box) supportThe main machine(control box) will installed on the front cabin by right windscreen, and the support will be make according to AC status. see Fig-3Fig 3 GPS main machine (control box) support install place 3.4 Install GPS Emergency and Normal communication change-over switch (Note: because installed to F-7/FT-7 throttle, it cannot move and change, so it cannot install BIT newly, only can install change-over switch, use same BIT in throttle. When it use normal communication, the switch will be ahead to front, then,it use BIT in throttle can normal transmitting. When it use emergency radio of GPS , the switch will be towards the back, then, it use same BIT in throttle can transmitting. This purposeis through the M2022L two-way switch to carry out.)3.4.1 One 12mm hole will be drilled on the left operating panel near the throttle for install M2022L two-way switch . see Fig-4Fig 4 Install GPS Emergency and Normal communicationchange-over switch3.4.2 The cables will be laying in the left operating panel by the throttle to come from CCU.3.5 The inside circuit in CCU will be modification according to GPS radio need.3.6 install GA56 antennaAccording to Fig 5 install the GA56 antenna on cover of thefront equipment.Fig 5 GA56 antenna install place3.7 The power supply transform box of the GPS will install on right base in upper equipment cabin.4Make cable of the GPSAccording to the schematic diagram Fig6, make following cables:4.1 According to need make cabin cables.4.2 According to need make upper equipment cabin cables. 4.3 According to need make high frequency cables.4.4 According to GPS circuitry connect list to check list 1,2,3,4 connect line correctness.5Laying the cables in aircrafta)The high frequency feeder line (WP-CHCOMM) in cabinlaying to seal plugs from the cabin right side windscreen to front begin.b)The high frequency feeder line(WP-CHCOMM) in upperequipment cabin laying to down the antenna place to pass the battery cover and seal holes from 6 frame right side begin. other cables keep in the upper equipment cabin.c) Top high frequency feeder line (WP-CHGPS) front layingto the upper antenna place in 2 frame from 6 frame .d)Main machine(control box) cable (WP-CH1,WP-CH2) frontlaying to behind right switchboard from cabin rightwindscreen , another cable front laying to 6 frame connect seal plugs.e) Upper equipment cable laying to left 4 frame , another connect seal plugs in 6 frame. (WP-1)cable will be lay to the transform install place in 2 frame to connect the power transform .6Assemble and connect accessories.a)The antenna base will be install on the battery cover withHB1-202-M6×48 screws.b)The electrical transform will be install in upperequipment right side.c)Upper antenna will be install the equipment right front.d) The M2022L two-way switch will be install to left operating panel. Then , the GPS radio cable will be welding to the switch .7All plugs will connect and make safe .8Operating and checking .a)check work state oneself.b)GPS emergency radio check.c)GPS navigation check.Method of operation detailing will be carry out according to the special use maintenance book.9 Operating principleA typical GPS for the aircraft is consisted of antenna ,signal processing circuit and processor .Basic function of the receiver is capturing satellite signal ,restoring orbit data, measuring distance and Doppler frequency. Then it processes these information in real time to ovtain the position ,velocity and time of the aircraft.10 Power supplyGNC300XL is supplied with 27VDC by the airborne electric network, and 14VDC is provided through 28VDC transformer .Display control unit :10~15VDCCurrent consumption of the display control unit:13.8V 1.35A13.8 5.5A(In transmission)6 Operation of GPS systemAll controls of the GPS system are provided on GNC300XL display control unit. Panel of the control unit is as shown in according to the maintenance technology book about GNC-300XL SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEM.7 Cable plugs connect listNo1 GPS cable check list(WP-CH1)No2 GPS cable check list(WP-CH2)Two , FT-7 Modification GPS1 FT-7B aircraft GPS modification difference F-7Ma)FT-7B down antenna AT016 will be move to aircraft topbehind cabin.b)Upper antenna will be install to the right side of theupper equipment cabinc)The cables laying and cable accessories will makeModification according to the AC statue2 Other operation and checking same F-7M.3 Main parts Install3.1 GNC300XL display control unit: located at upper right windscreen of the main instrument panel in cockpit.(see Fig 3 ) 3.2 GA56 antenna :located on the front equipment bay cover ,on the right side of frames 2~3.(see Fig 5)3.3 GPS transformer: located on lower layer at frames 45 in the front equipment bay.3.4 AT016 GPS radio antenna :located on the aircraft symmetrical axis out of top access cover at the aircraft between frames 14~15.3.5 The M2022L two-way switch will be install to left operating panel.
