2学情分析本课为湖南少年儿童出版社五年级下册的第五单元的第一课时。
语言功能:谈论日期及部分节假日。
语言结构:When is your birthday?It is on the fifth of March.International Children’s Day is on the first of June.3重点难点教学重点:掌握A部分的句型,B部分的单词。
教学难点:流利地按顺序说出12个月份的名称,灵活地运用句型“When’s ……”、“It’s on the……”谈论日期。

湘少版《小学英语》五年级下册Unit 5 Who was first?本课时的教学内容选自湘少版《小学英语》五年级下册Unit 5 Who was first?这一单元的主要内容是围绕话题“学校运动会”展开,通过Peter和同学们参加百米赛跑的故事引出英文序数词的教学。
该单元是对Unit 3和Unit 4中所学 be动词(is)过去式的复习、运用以及对基数词1~10的拓展和延伸。
本课时为本单元教学的第二课时,主要内容是语篇阅读教学,旨在帮助学生巩固英文序数词的用法,了解语篇大意,同时为本册后面几个单元中有关英文月份、生日的学习作好铺垫。
本单元的教学内容贴近学生的生活,课文篇幅较短且易读、易懂,便于学生模仿和学习运用。
另外,本课的教学内容有很强的教育意义,让学生理解体育比赛中“友谊第一,比赛第二”的精神追求。
学情分析本课的授课对象是小学五年级的学生。
他们从三年级开始学习本套教材,已经对英语产生了较浓厚的兴趣。
但随着年级的升高,语言量逐渐加大,有些学生对英语产生了畏惧心理。
指导思想针对目前小学英语教学中教学内容欠科学、对学生语言输入量不足等现象,课堂教学应设计与学生学习、生活紧密结合的活动情景,为学生提供高效的学习任务,促使学生运用所学知识实现知识的迁移,达到“学以致用”的目的。
本堂课侧重教学内容的科学安排和语言的有效输入,强调对学生语言实践的设计,以帮助学生有效学习语言。
学生在本堂课有趣的任务活动中体验师生、生生之间的多向交流,发挥小组合作学习的优势,进行有意义的练习与实践,充分发挥学生的学习主观能动性。
设计理念本堂课围绕话题“体育运动”展开情境教学,通过对体育运动的了解,让学生感知英文序数词的用法,突破了传统的“单词——句子——语篇”的教学流程,体现了“整体感知,分步训练”的阅读教学要求:先整体感知语篇,然后通过设疑、判断等来巩固运用新知。

2. 话题解读本单元涉及的是与生日(Birthday)有关的话题。
本单元出现了有关月份的单词,教师可以引导学生将12个月按spring, summer, autumn和winter进行划分,有利于提高学生的信息整合能力。
本单元要求学会具体日期的表达方式,教师可以加入中外重要节日的元素,既可以拓展学生的文化视野,又能帮助学生巩固运用所学知识。
本单元安排了填写Family Birthday Card和制作生日贺卡的活动,在活动体验中教育学生关心他长辈。
3. 难点分析本单元对话课中的难点主要是单词的掌握,新单词的数量较多,教师要注意分散难点,不要将所有的新单词教学都放在第一课时。
教师要运用多种教学方法,从单词的音、形、义等方面较好地帮助学生解决困难,让学生在听、说、认读和写方面都能基本达到要求。
在表达具体日期的时候,要使用序数词,按照本套教材的编排,本册第十一单元才会系统学习序数词。
为了降低学生的学习难度,能正确使用序数词,教师可以灵活使用教材,将本单元的教学安排在第十一单元后。

古罗马人这样称呼一月是为了纪念他们的守护神雅努斯(Janus)。

February (二月):来源于拉丁文的februarius,意为“净化”,它是古罗马的节日——菲勃卢姆节。
