It is taken from the first book of Grade Seven published by Hebei Education Publishing House . I have decided to say the lesson from seven parts:Analysis of the teaching material,Analysis of the students, Important and Difficult Points, Teaching methods, Learning methods, Teaching procedures and Blackboard design .Part 1. Analysis of the Teaching Material:1. Status and Function.Lesson 25 is the first lesson of Unit 5. This unit focuses on the topic of “Family and Home”. The functions are talking about family members,talking about age ,talking about position.The grammar of this unit is present continuous tense and prepositions.By learningthis lesson, Students will learn to introduce their family members and their jobs .2. Teaching Aimsa. Knowledge Goal:Master four “skill” words and phrases:Family,son,daughter,mother,brother,sisterMaster some sentence patterns of introducing family members and their jobs .b. Ability Goals:Develop the students’abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Train the students’ability of working in pairs. Develop the students’abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.c. Emotional Goals:Encourage students To say their family members and their jobs in English. Increase their interest in speaking English , take great interest and enthusiasm for English learning and set up self-confidence in expression.Part 2. Analysis of Students.Students of Grade 7 have studied English for more than four years ,They have grasped a certain amount ofEnglish knowledge. They can cooperate with their classmates to finish a task. On the other hand,Students' ability of using English is limited; Their abstract thinking is not fully developed. And their English learning level are different from each other. They need teacher’s help and encouragement in their further study.Therefore, all of these should be taken into consideration in today's teaching.Part3. Key and DifficultiesBased on the requirement of new course standard and the students' characteristics, the important and difficult points are to develop the students’reading ability and master the usage of key sentences correctly.Master the four “skill” words and phrases.Master the sentence pattern about asking family members and their jobs.Part 4. Teaching MethodsThe main instructional aims of learning English in the middle school is to cultivate students’abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good senseof the English language. So in this lesson, I’ll mainly use “Communicative”teaching method, “Audio-visual”teaching method, “Task-based”teaching method, “Classified”teaching method and Cooperative Learning teaching method. I’ll give the students some tasks and arrange some kinds of activities, like talking, watching CAI, and reading in roles.Part 5. Learning MethodsIt ' s good for students to listen to the recording very often and to learn English well.In class,students should actively participate in every teaching activity designed by teachers. Give students plenty of time to read and say. Cultivate the student ' s slightly reading ability. By this way, teacher can change the book knowledge into student ' s knowledge and language ability.So the learning methods of this lesson are pair work、group work 、individual work and discussion.Part 6. Teaching ProceduresStep 1. Lead inLead in by discussing the following questions:1.How many people are there in your family?2.What does Jenny’s mother do ?3.What does Jenny’s sister do?Discuss the questions in groups,I’ll show some pictures of different jobs,such as bus driver,teacher, worker, student, policeman.Ask the students to talk about them for three minutes and then let them present their results in class.Step 2. New WordsPass courseware to show the students a picture of family, help students understand the meaning of words and can accurately grasp the pronunciation of new words.Step 3. Language PointsThrough the sentence of courseware, let students understand the meaning and usage of some key phrases such as:1.My mother’s name is Mary Smith2.My father is a worker.3.My sister is a student.Step 4. ListeningLet students listen to the tape, familiar with the text content, and through a small test to consolidate the language knowledge.1.What is Mary Smith doing?2.What does Bob do?3.What is Lynn doing now?Finish the task in class orally.Step 5. ReadingRead Part 2 of the lesson and answer the following questions:What is Jim Smith doing?What does Jenny do?Finish the task in class orally.Step 6. ActivitiesGreet with friends in groups. Make up a dialogue between three or four students,then present in front of the class,the following sentences can be used:Can you tell me your family members?What do they do?Wait for several minutesand let some groups act out their dialogues in frontof the class.Step 6. Homework1. Finish off “Let’s Do It!”No. 3.2. Write a short note to introduce their family membersand tell their names and jobs.Part 7.
