学生生活是非常美好的，有很多美好的回忆。

我还记得我们班有一个男生，每天都在女生的宿舍楼下拉小提琴，（笑声）希望能引起女生的注意，结果后来被女生扔了水瓶子。

我还记得我自身为了吸引女生的注意，每到寒假和暑假都帮着女生扛包。

（笑声、掌声）后来我发现那个女生有男朋友，（笑声）我就问她为什么还要让我扛包，她说为了让男朋友休息一下（笑声、掌声）。

我也记得刚进北大的时候我不会讲普通话，全班同学第一次开班会的时候互相介绍，我站起来自我介绍了一番，结果我们的班长站起来跟我说："俞敏洪你能不能不讲日语？"（笑声）我后来用了整整一年时间，拿着收音机在北大的树林中模仿广播台的播音，但到今天普通话还依然讲得不好。

人的进步可能是一辈子的事情。

在北大是我们生活的一个开始，而不是结束。

有很多事情特别让人感动。

例如说，我们很有幸见过朱光潜教授。

在他最后的日子里，是我们班的同学每天轮流推着轮椅在北大里陪他一起散步。

因此，我在大学看书最多的领域是美学。

因为他写了一本《西方美学史》，是我进大学以后读的第二本书。

为什么是第二本呢？因为第一本是这样来的，我进北大以后走进宿舍，我有个同学已经在宿舍。

那个同学躺在床上看一本书，叫做《第三帝国的兴亡》。

混遍北大整整七年，没有一个女人爱上我的时候，我发现我的很多同学都已经谈了好几次恋爱。

有的同学已经娶上了美丽的女人，成立了美好的家庭。

当我发现至少每个同学都拥有一个健康身体的时候，我在大学三年级的时候得了肺结核。

发现好像所有的生活黑暗和不如意都集中在你一个人身上，幸亏在这样的过程中间我始终没有放弃自己身上唯一的力量，这个力量就是我觉得只要努力，只要奋斗，只要给我足够的时间，我应该能够改变自己的命运，我应该能够让自己的生活变得更好。

而这种感觉来自于什么地方呢，就是来自于我从小在农村的那种生活，来自于我自己高考的启示，因为对于我来说，农村孩子长大唯一可能的归宿就是在农村。

我十四岁初中毕业，紧接着命运就对我做出了宣判，当时中国有一个政策，叫做贫下中农子女，一家只能有一个上高中，我姐上了高中，因此就轮不到我。

所以其实我在十四岁的时候就认认真真地当过一回农民，在那个时候我就料定了自己这辈子大概只能在农村待着了。

但是，老天给了我一个非常好的机会，这个机会就是_以后，教育政策立刻就改变了。

我们的初中老师想起了我，说俞敏洪是一直喜欢读书的人，我们是不是可以把他破例地重新放到高中里面来。

做人要有正确的渴望，每天都取得一点进步我能够走到今天，站在这个舞台上，有一个重要的原因，就是因为我内心有一个比较温和的渴望，这个渴望就是希望明天能比今天更好，希望明年能比今年更好，希望五年以后能比现在的五年更好，跟国家做五年发展计划差不多。

因为有了更好的渴望，所以你的生命就会被自动带动着前行了。

当然，这种渴望到底是什么要弄清楚，有正确的渴望，有错误的渴望。

比如说很多政府官员落马，他们也是有渴望的，但不是渴望把自己的官当得更好，不是更好地为人民服务，而是钱越多越渴望，就走偏了。

也有很多企业家或者商人希望把自己的企业干好，但是他的渴望是钱越多越好，至于说钱是正道来的还是不是正道来的，最后忘了。

我身边出现了几个做企业的人，最后走偏了，进去了。

我觉得渴望非常好，它能带动你的生命前行。

但是这个渴望原则上至少要有正向的志向才行，保证做的事情、做人不能偏离太多，才能够让自己的生命行在相对来说比较宽阔的道路上。

我当然希望中国的年轻人都立志高远，从年轻的时候就能够定一个终生目标，比如当伟大的政治家，伟大的商人，伟大的企业家，但是我觉得并不是所有的人，甚至我认为大多数人是不可能把自己一辈子到底想要干什么想清楚的。

其实现在想来，这是一件多么可笑的事情，你怎么知道就没有喜欢猪的女生呢?就算你被女生拒绝了，那又怎么样呢?这个世界会因为这件事情就改变了吗?那种把自己看得太高的人我们说他狂妄，但是一个自卑的人，一定比一个狂妄的人还要更加糟糕。

因为狂妄的人也许还能抓到他生活中本来不是他的机会，但是自卑的人永远会失去本来就属于他的机会。

因为自卑，所以你就会害怕，你害怕失败，你害怕别人的眼光，你会觉得周围的人全是抱着讽刺打击侮辱你的眼神在看你，因此你不敢去做。

可以说青少年对于父母的第一次抗争，就拉开了一辈子和各种各样的束缚进展斗争的序幕。

因此，你进入什么样的大学并不是最重要的，重要的是你是选择努力还是选择放弃。

当我们大学毕业找工作时，发现有些同学好似很容易就找到了一份好工作，其中有的同学是因为确实能力强找到了好工作，但有的同学似乎纯粹是因为运气好，你怎么想都想不通为什么命运对你如此不公，让你能够找到的工作就是清扫卫生之类的活计。

如果你工作态度积极，把清扫卫生这样的工作做得极其认真而出色，最后就有可能被提升到很重要的位置上，如果你选择马马虎虎，敷衍了事，最后就可能变成失业人士。

第⼀个阶段实际上是新东⽅的家族阶段，第⼆个阶段是新东⽅的合伙制阶段。

新东⽅总共经历了四个阶段的发展：个⼈和家族阶段、合伙制阶段、股份制改造阶段以及国际上市阶段。

现在新东⽅是第四阶段，因为已经是美国的上市公司了。

第⼀个阶段，刚开始实际上就是我⼀个⼈在⼲。

从北⼤出来了没事⼲，我就早上去贴⼴告，下午坐在那⼉等学⽣来，晚上到别的培训机构去上课。

后来慢慢学⽣就多起来了，我发现忙不过来，也没钱请别⼈来帮忙，就跟我⽼婆说，你看我们现在⾃⼰办学校好像没有问题，你在中央⾳乐学院那么⾟苦，每天要骑⾃⾏车去上班，挺远的，你就⼲脆不做了，看你⼈长得⼜不算太难看，往前台⼀坐，说不定能多招⼏个学⽣呢，是吧?后来我⽼婆就真的从中央⾳乐学院辞职了，1992年辞的，和我⼀起⼲到了1996年。

她管⾏政、后勤、招⽣，我管上课和教师质量。

在这个过程中，还插⼊了⼀些家族因素，我⽼婆的姐夫、我的姐夫都到新东⽅来⼯作了，虽然他们都很能⼲，但这已经很明显带有家族倾向了。

⾄于我妈，她倒是没有参加过新东⽅的具体⼯作，她是觉得⼉⼦在新东⽅能养活她了，就给我做饭来了。

她这⼀来带来两个⼤问题：第⼀就是我们家就⼀间房⼦，我⽼妈和我们睡⼀间房，我跟我⽼婆晚上根本就没有空间在⼀起，这是个⼤问题。

⼤家知道，其实中国的婆媳关系是很⿇烦的，我⽼妈个性⽐较强，我⽼婆个性也蛮强的，两个个性强的⼥⼈在⼀起——⼤家应该知道是什么结果了。

所以总是有⼀种疙疙瘩瘩的感觉在⾥⾯。

第⼆，我⽼妈以前是农村妇⼥队长，特别喜欢⼲活，⼀看新东⽅地脏了没⼈扫，她就要扫地。

我想⽼太太要扫就扫吧，可是她扫着扫着就领着新东⽅的⼈在⼲活了。

⽼太太能很⾃动地就变成领导⼈——说实话，我⾝上有⼀点点我⽼妈的特点，能够通过努⼒地⼲活使⾃⼰变成⼀帮⼈的领导。

也许你的父母什么都没给你留下，但你脚下的这片广袤大地，却可以由你自己随便走，能走多远是你的事情。

人生中最重要的生命力量之一，生命的动力之一，是我们自己内心想要某种东西的欲望。

这种欲望其实就是理想，一种需要让我们的生命提升才能得到的东西。

理想是在我们生命遥远的地方，是我们愿意用三年、五年，甚至一辈子去实现的东西。

理想能够让我们不断打破现实走向未来。

每一个理想都是有阶段性的，随着一个又一个理想的实现，我们的生命不断扩张，能力不断增强。

所以，要用理想来指引我们的生活，来点燃我们内心自强的火焰。

讲到理想，我们不得不谈及另一个重要的话题，就是方向。

方向不是由理想来指引的。

因为理想可以做坏事也可以做好事。

怎么样才能把理想变成好事？就需要有正确的价值观引导，让我们知道什么东西是应该做的，什么是不应该做的。

我们可以用两个标准来衡量我们的价值体系正确不正确。
