贵州省兴义市第八中学高一英语万峰林旅游解说词素材Commentaries on scenic spot of WanFeng Peaks ForestLadies and gentlemen, nice to meet all of you!Welcome to the scenic spot of Xingyi WanFeng Peaks Forest, a national geological park in Xingyi City. I am XXX, your guide of. I am glad to show you around the beautiful Peaks Forest . During the visit, there will be three stops and you can get off to take photos. The General Peak is the first spot that I would like to introduce to you. Please look at the smallest peak in the field which looks like a stone pillar. We call it the General Peak. There are several reasons why we call it this name. First, during the period of Republic of China, several generals came from this place. The shape of the peak also looks like a general who holds his head up high. The mountains behind the peak are just like a large number of mounted and foot soldiers waiting for the general’s commands. Beside the general, there are two vice generals to safeguard him. The left mountain looks like a camel with noble humps and half-kneeling legs while the right mountain looks like a turtle with his head reaching out and a broad back. Surrounded and protected by a large number of mounted and foot soldiers, the General Peak becomes the symbol of Xingyi WanFeng Peaks ForestIn the following segment, the mountains are the most and the density is the highest. The remote mountains has no stops while the mountains nearby are independent and have their own shapes, tier upon tier and are well proportioned. Imagination shall be provoked while you look at the mountains and then you will find that some mountains look like certain animals and others look like human beings.Look, there is a big whale swimming towards us. It has a high back, small tail and huge white teeth .How vivid! A large screen appears after you have watched the whale. However, the screen is not able to block the grandness and magnificence of the mountains behind it. What follows immediately is a snail crawling slowly withits shell. These independent mountains look like natural bonsais, delicate, cute, graceful and touching.“ZhongXingPengYue”In the middle of the filed there is an independent hilltop surrounded by huge mountains as the stars surround the moon. Therefore, the scenic spot is called ZhongXingPengYue, meaning all the stars bend towards the moon.“Sleeping Beauty”Well, let’s look, over there. In the distance we can see a village on the half mountain. Above it there is a mountain peak. On the right of it lies the “Sleeping Beauty” , who sleeps, facing and staring at the sky, as if she is also struck by the beautiful scenery.“Na Hui Village”There, we can see a village. People in this village are minorities. They have been living there for many years. As Chinese saying “Miao love mountains. Bu love water. Some live on the halfmountains. Others live at the foot of mountains. The village at the foot of the mountains is called “Na Hui village”. The president Hu Jin Tao came to spend the Spring Festival with the local people (Bu Yi) on February 8th, 2005.(Lunar calendar 30th). The family the president Hu Jin Tao had a meal with is now becoming a famous place which every visitor wants to visit. In this village you can have a wonderful meal and also stay. Oh, we have come to the first stop. Take photos if you like. Please, mind your step.“Bronze Drum Square”In order to better understand the culture of Bu Yi, local people built the small square called “The Bronze Drum Square” at the foot of the mountains. Its design looks like the surface of a bronze drum struck by Bu Yi. In the middle of it we can see a design like the sun which is adored as “Sun God” by the local people. At the same time we can also find five white round totempoles on each of which a totem of Han, Bu ,Yi, Mao, Hui, Yi was carved, making the culture of nationalities as a distant source and long stream.“RiYueTian MaTiTian”Now let’s enjoy the rural scenery at the foot of the mountain. From this position, we can see there are two beautiful fields. One is just under the big tree on the right side of the village. We call it RiYueTian, because it looks as if the sun and the moon are embracing each other. The village also looks like a crescent moon. The other field is on the left of the village, and it is just the shape of a horse’s ho of. It seems that the field has been trampled by a horse, so we call it MaTiTian.“BaGuaTian”Well, the field in front of us is seldom seen. The ridges between the fields are like strings. They join together, weaving a wonderful pattern. The field looks like a picture the Eight Diagrams in Chinese we call BaGuaTu. The photo of this field was ever chosen as the cover of Chinese National Geographical Magazine. It’s called ShenZhouBaGua. Several years ago, the National Travel Exposition was held in Nanjing. When the photo was exhibited, a business man from Taiwan became so astonished that he left his comments “Walk in the BaGua Field, and you will take in the spirit of nature; enjoy the scenery of Wanfeng Forest, and you will be lucky.” Now we are here to see the beautiful scenery, I hope every one can take in the spirit of nature andbe lucky forever.“TianYuanFengGuang GuRongShu”The different peoples in the Wanfeng Forest work together and create the beautiful scenery here. A human being is the spirit of all living things; she is also the spirit of the fascinating scenery here. The farmers’ houses, the fields and the trees consist of the scenery. It looks so nice, and you can enjoy the scenery every season of the year. In spring, you can enjoy peach blossom, green willow and yellow rape flowers. In summer, there are green trees. In autumn, you can appreciate the golden fields. In winter, you will be happy to see the green wheat in the fields covered by snow. After you have seen the most beautiful scenery, you will be impressed with it.It’s a habitant of Buyi People. Buyi People is a brave and hardworking people. In the village, there are three big trees aged a thousand years. They have witnessed the history of Buyi People and they have ever heard many moving stories of Buyi People.“DaShunFeng WuZhiShan DiYan”Looking casually around, you will find some surprising views, such as the “Liu Liu Da Shun” mountains behind us, which means good luck with the figure six. Six cone-shape mountains stand in lines, greeting the tourists and wishing us good luck. With the positions changing, the “Liu Liu Da Shun” mountains become “Wu Zhi Qin Tian”, like Buddha’s five fingers pointing upward to the sky.On this fairyland, there are still many other wonderful views passing by us without being noticed. Look, in front of us is a small funnel surrounded by a triangle pile of stones with some slender lines around it, which is like an eye in the earth, called “the Eye of the Land” showing the nimbus of the earth. The three piles of rocks around it look like three whales, guarding the eye day and night, so it is also called“Three Whales Protecting the Eye”.“FangKuaiTian Bu Bu Gao S heng”WanFengLin is a highland karst landscape. People living here work diligently and hard, making the southwestern wonder more and more beautiful. Now, the field looks like a carpet or Golf course. It is a small plain surrounded by beautiful mountains. The small conspicuous funnel in the field seems a hole in a Golf course. It is significantly special and a owl standing there with its wings embracing himself. Look, the parts of white v-shape seems its eyes and mouth. He is a patron saint here, watching and guarding hundreds and thousands of acres fields day and night, so that the crops here grow and thrive. Behind the owl are arranging mountains increasing by degrees, which means promoting to a higher position, in Chinese we call it “Bu Bu Gao S heng”. Now, I take this opportunities to hope you all will promote to a higher level in your lives and career and better off from now on.“ZhanHong Bridge”This is a local famous geomantic bridge over NaHui River. It is small and ordinary but winded. In 1973, people began to build this bridge and it took 2 years. At first, it was built straight, connecting to the road. But every time at half of the construction, the bridge would be destroyed by flood. This repeated several times, but no one knew why. People all thought that maybe the bridge collided some Gods. Then they had to ask a geomancer for help. After a survey of the location of the bridge, the geomancer told the villagers that the village on the opposite side of NaHui River, along the foot of the mountain, was semicircular like a bow. If the bridge was straight, it, together with the straightroad, would be like an arrow, which directly shot at the village on the other side of the river. This meant peace would break down, and people of the two villages would not harmonious with each other any longer. So, according to the geomancer’s sugge stion, the bridge then was built tortuous, meaning that the “arrow” got broken. After that, the construction of the bridge came to the end successfully, and people on both sides of the river kept peaceful and harmony. Later, the bridge was given a name “ZhanHong Bridge”, implying that people on both sides of Nahui River would join hands together to advance towards the future.“LuoShuiTianKeng”Along the way, the Nahui River underearth our feet is accompanying us. However, it eventually disappears at the f oot of the mountain. That’s because of the unique landscape here ----- the natural sinkhole, which looks like a leaker. Usually, at the end of rivers, there are several huge holes, through which water falls down to underground rivers when floods come, then flows into our Wanfeng Lake, Panjiang River, and finally Zhujiang River. Therefore, we can say Nahui River is one of the branch rivers for Zhujiang Water System. The holes of this Karst topography are the main accesse to the underground rivers for water, which lie on the bottom of the hollows, as well as on the slopes. They have different shapes, and are over 100 metres deep, whose diameter could be less than 10 meters. In China, they are often called “ bottomless holes” or “water releasing holes”.How time flies! It’s time to say goodbye. As the old saying goes “the beauty of mountains and rivers are always loved by wise men.” Hopefully, you can find your favourite sceneries. Discerning eyes can tell greatness from mediocrity. We can findthe beauty of these sceneries, too. Besides, we expect you to bring more friends to enjoy the fantastic place here! Hope you have a nice trip. And we look forward to your coming next time! Goodbye.。
