名词
一、英语名词可分专有名词和普通名词两大类：
1、专有名词是个别的人、地、物、团体、机构等的专用名称。

专有名词中实词的第一个字母要大写。

如：Beijing, Tom, the People’s Republic of China(中华人民共和国) 专有名词如果是含有普通名词的短语,则必须使用定冠词the。

如：the Great Wall(长城)
姓氏名如果采用复数形式,则表示该姓氏一家人(复数含义),如：the Greens( 格林一家人)。

2、普通名词是许多人或事物的共有名称。

如：pupil, family, man, foot.
普通名词又分为可数名词和不可数名词。

▲可数名词是可以用简单的数词进行计数的名词,如：box, child, orange；
▲不可数名词是不可以用简单的数词进行计数的名词。

如：water, news, oil, population, information .
二、英语可数名词的单复数：
1、名词由单数变复数的基本方法如下：
①一般情况，在词尾加-s.
desk---desks 书桌girl---girls 女孩
boy---boys pen---pens
②以-s,-x,-ch,-sh 结尾的词，在词尾加--es
bus---buses box--boxes
brush--brushes watch--watch
③以辅音字母加-y结尾的词，变y为i，加-es
baby-babies 婴儿family--families家庭
④以-f或-fe结尾的词，变f或fe为v，再加-es
knife---knives刀leaf---leaves树叶
⑤以-o结尾的词，一般情况下，在词尾加-s，黑人英雄吃西红柿土豆除外。

photo---photos piano---pianos
negro---negroes 黑人hero---heroes 英雄
tomato---tomatoes西红柿potato--potatoes马铃薯
2、不规则变化：
man→men, woman→women, sheep→sheep, tooth→teeth, fish→fish, chil d→chil dren, ox→oxen, goose→geese
三、不可数名词一般没有复数形式,说明其数量时,要用有关计量名词。

如：a bag of rice→two bags of rice, a piece of paper→three pieces of paper, a bottle of milk→five bottles of milk.

名词单数变复数规则名词是表示人、事物、地方、现象及其他抽象概念名称的词。

1.名词分为专有名词和普通名词。

如：Guangzhou，Mike，UNESCO等。

专有名词一般情况下第一个字母要大写，前面不加定冠词the。

如：police，eggs，rice等。

普通名词又可分为个体名词、集体名词、物质名词和抽象名词。

个体名词：表示某一类人或某一类东西中的个体。

如：monkey，panda，ruler，boy等。

集体名词：表示一群人或一些事物的总称。

如：family，police，class，people等。

物质名词：表示无法分为个体或不具备确定形状和大小的实物。

如：Water，air，milk等。

抽象名词：表示抽象概念词。

如：hope，love，spirit。

在讨论名词的数之前，必须了解英语的名词有可数名词和不可数名词两种。

一般来说，个体名词和集体名词多为可数名词，物质名词和抽象名词多为不可数名词。

不可数名词：不可数名词意味着这些名词只能是单数，没有复数形式，不能与数目字如one, two等连用，也不能加不定冠词a(n)。

不可数名词没有单数、复数之分，但我们在生活中有时候又必需给这些词计量，我们于是采用这种方法：如：a cup of tea，a box of milk，a piece of paper等。

如果为了表示多个的概念，我们就将表示这些东西的单位变成复数即可。

如：a cup of tea---3 cups of tea，a box of milk---12 boxes of milk，A piece of paper---100 pieces of paper*需要注意的是，a. 当物质名词转化为个体名词时为可数。

比较：Cake is a kind of food.蛋糕是一种食物。

（不可数） These cakes are sweet.这些蛋糕很好吃。

（可数） b. 当物质名词表示该物质的种类时，可数。
