Step1 Preparation
Revision and Lead in:
Show some phrases and ask the students to translate them into English:Then fill in the blanks according to 2b.
Step2 Presentation
Activity 3a
Read the instructions to the class. Focus attention on the chart. Image you are going on a short study vacation at a school in an English-speaking country. What would you like to know before you go? Write some polite , indirect questions about the topics in the charts.
Set a time limit of ten minute. Demonstrate how to fill in the information in the chart. Ask students to interview several students and fill in the chart. As they work, move around the room to make sure students interview in English and know how to fill in the information in the chart.

Activity3b
Read the instructions to the class. Ask students to look at the notes on how to write a polite letter to the school asking for the information you want to know using in3a. Elicit how to convert the notes into sentences in an article.
Ask students to complete the letter individually. Say, the order of information will vary but should contain all the points in the notes.
As students are doing this ,move around the room checking progress and offering help when necessary. Ask students to read their letters to a partner.
If there isn’t enough time for all the students to finish the letter, allow them to finish it after class.

Self Check
The activities in Self Check aim to consolidate the knowledge we’ve learned in this unit.
1. First let the students to read the short conversations and fill in the blanks with the words in the box in self-check.Then ask some of students read the short conversations and check the answers with class.
2. Let the students write questions and answers using the words given. The first is finished as an example.
Invite three students to finish each one on the blackboard and check them with class.
