According to many scholars, strongly believe that linear ship industry should not get rid of the competition. That is because the higher fixed cost exists in this industry compared with variable cost. The fact is that the shift cost stay high because linear service is in competitive market. ( Davies, 1986 ; Goss,1982)

－linear supply chain developed 2 types of agreements.
The first one is the slot sharing agreement. Which include the percentage capacity for exchange between members of agreements for a fixed set of time. This type of form is suitable for the linear shipping companies which operate on the same routes with
different time schedule.
The second agreement is the vessel share agreement, this is used to achieve optimization on time and cost by fulfill the trade routes. (Heaver, 2011)
好处
1.From the innovation side, alliance mutually share the benefit of inter-organizational
leaning. (Berger, 1996)
2.Geographical proximity to exemplify the cluster, so in the case of linear, strategic
alliance share the vessels, routes, capacity, terminals and information flow.
