disneymirrorsamericanculture课文Disney mirrors American cultureDisney, with its vast empire of theme parks, movies, television shows, and merchandise, has become a dominant force in American popular culture. From the iconic Mickey Mouse to the beloved princesses, Disney characters are deeply ingrained in the collective consciousness of the American people. As a result, it is undeniable that Disney mirrors American culture in many ways. One of the ways in which Disney reflects American culture is through its portrayal of heroes and heroines. In many Disney films, the protagonist is an ordinary individual who overcomes challenges and obstacles to achieve their dreams. This emphasis on individualism and the pursuit of personal success is a core value in American society. The idea that anyone, regardless of their background, can become a hero resonates with the American dream of upward mobility and self-determination.In addition, Disney often presents narratives that celebrate traditional American values, such as family, love, and friendship. Films like "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King" teach moral lessons about the importance of compassion, forgiveness, and loyalty. These themes reflect the emphasis on strong family bonds and the value placed on personal relationships in American culture.Furthermore, Disney movies often depict the triumph of good over evil, reinforcing the American belief in justice and the fight against injustice. The villains in Disney films embody greed, power, andcruelty, which are traits that go against the American ideals of fairness and equality. The heroes and heroines, on the other hand, represent the values of honesty, bravery, and virtue, as they strive to make the world a better place. This narrative of overcoming adversity and standing up for what is right resonates with the American sense of justice and the desire to see good prevail.Disney also reflects the consumerist nature of American culture. The extensive merchandising of Disney characters and franchises perpetuates the culture of consumerism, as American consumers are eager to purchase themed products related to their favorite movies or characters. From toys and clothing to home decor and theme park tickets, Disney merchandise is a multi-billion-dollar industry that constantly keeps up with the latest trends and demands of the American consumer market. At the same time, Disney has been criticized for perpetuating stereotypes and reinforcing gender roles. Many Disney princesses, for instance, conform to traditional gender norms, with their focus on beauty, love, and waiting for a prince to sweep them off their feet. This has been seen as problematic by critics who argue that it limits the potential for young girls to see themselves as independent and empowered individuals. However, in recent years, Disney has made efforts to broaden the representation of diverse characters and challenges the traditional gender roles in films like "Moana" and "Frozen," reflecting the changing attitudes towards gender roles in American society. In conclusion, Disney's pervasive influence in American culture cannot be underestimated. Through its films, theme parks, andmerchandise, Disney reflects and reinforces many aspects of American culture, including individualism, traditional values, the pursuit of justice, consumerism, and even changing attitudes towards gender roles. While it is not without its criticisms, Disney continues to captivate and mirror the values and aspirations of the American people.。

While restating, integrating, and fabricating documents, these three long poems subversively deconstruct the three carrier forms: autobiography, journal, and collec-tion. The three works deal with photography, the relatively modern and documentary form, by taking the blankness, blur, and distortion of photographs as clues, which can explore the narrative徐露,张雯philosophy and strategies of documentary poems in the process of the reconstruction of genres, and can also glimpse the postmodernist diversified trend and exploration of contemporary Cana-dian literary creation.KeywordsCanada, English Poetry, Documentary Poems, Genre ReconstructionThis work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY 4.0)./licenses/by/4.0/1.

When introducing an ancient building in English, its essential to provide a rich description that captures the historical significance, architectural features, and cultural context of the structure.Heres an example of how you might write an essay to introduce an ancient building:Title:The Majestic Grandeur of the ColosseumThe Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, stands as a testament to the architectural prowess and cultural richness of ancient Rome.Located in the heart of Rome,Italy, this ancient structure is a prime example of Roman engineering and an iconic symbol of the Roman Empire.Historical ContextConstructed between7080AD under the reign of Emperor Vespasian, the Colosseum was completed by his successor and heir,Titus.Originally known as the Amphitheatrum Flavium,it was later renamed the Colosseum, possibly after the colossal statue of Nero that once stood nearby. The Colosseum was used for a variety of public spectacles, including gladiatorial contests, mock sea battles, animal hunts, and executions.Architectural FeaturesThe Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre with an original capacity of around60,000 spectators. It is a marvel of ancient engineering, featuring a complex system of vaults and arches that supported the structure without the need for internal supports. This allowed for unobstructed views of the arena from any seat in the house. The exterior facade was once adorned with travertine limestone, and the interior was lavishly decorated with marble and intricate mosaics. The Colosseums design is a threetiered structure, with each level featuring a different architectural style:the Doric,Ionic, and Corinthian orders. This progression of styles from the bottom to the top tiers is a clear demonstration of the Romans understanding and application of architectural principles.Cultural SignificanceThe Colosseum was not just a venue for entertainment it was a symbol of Romes power and a place where the emperors could demonstrate their authority and generosity.Thegames held within its walls were a form of social control,as well as a means of entertainment. The Colosseum also served as a place for the public to gather, fostering a sense of community and shared experience among the citizens of Rome.Preservation and Modern DayToday, the Colosseum is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.Despite the ravages of time, earthquakes, and stone robbers, the Colosseum still stands as a symbol of Romes past glory.Efforts are ongoing to preserve and restore this ancient monument, ensuring that its legacy continues to inspire future generations. In conclusion, the Colosseum is more than just a building it is a living piece of history that continues to captivate the imagination of millions. Its grandeur, resilience, and the stories it holds make it an indispensable part of the human cultural heritage.Remember to adjust the content to fit the specific ancient building you are tasked to introduce, and ensure that your essay is wellstructured, informative, and engaging.。

All three types of waves are recorded on an instrument called a seismograph.②Primary waves,or P-waves,are the speediest of the three kinds of waves and therefore the first to arrive at a seismograph station after there has been an earthquake. They travel through the upper crust of Earth at speeds of4to5kilometers per second, but near the base of the crust they speed along at6or7kilometers per second. In these primary waves, pulses of energy are transmitted as a succession of compressions and expansions that parallel the direction of propagation of the wave itself. Thus,a given segment of rock set in motion during an earthquake is driven into its neighbor and bounces back. The neighbor strikes the next particle and rebounds and subsequent particles continue the motion.Vibrational energy is an accordion-like push-pull movement that can be transmitted through solids, liquids and gases.Of course, the speed of Pwave transmission will differ in materials of different density and elastic properties.③Secondary waves,or S-waves,travel1to2kilometers per second slower than do P-waves.Unlike the movement of P-waves,rock vibration in secondary waves is at right angles to the direction of propagation of the energy. This type of wave is easily demonstrated by tying a length of rope to a hook and then shaking the free end.A series of undulations will develop in the rope and move toward the hook-thatis,in the direction of propagation.Any given particle along the rope, however, will move up and down in a direction perpendicular to the direction of propagation. It is because of their more complex motion that S-waves travel more slowly than Pwaves. They are the second group of oscillations to arrive at a seismograph station.Unlike Pwaves, secondary waves will not pass through liquids or gases.④Both P-and S-waves are sometimes also termed body waves because they are able to penetrate deep into the interior or body of our planet.Body waves travel faster in rocks of greater elasticity, and their speeds therefore increase steadily as they move downward into more elastic zones of Earth's interior and then decrease as they begin to make their ascent toward Earth's surface. The change in velocity that occurs as body waves invade rocks of different elasticity results in a bending or refraction of the wave. The many small refractions cause the body waves to assume a curved travel path through Earth.⑤Not only are body waves subjected to refraction, but they may also be partially reflected off the surface of a dense rock layer in much the same way as light is reflected off a polished surface. Many factorsinfluence the behavior of body waves. An increase in the temperature of rocks through which body waves are traveling will cause a decrease in velocity, whereas an increase in confining pressure will cause a corresponding increase in wave velocity. In a fluid where no rigidity exists,S-waves cannot propagate and P-waves are markedly slowed.⑥Surface waves are large-motion waves that travel through the outer crust of Earth.Their pattern of movement resembles that of waves caused when a pebble is tossed into the center of a pond. They develop whenever P-or S-waves disturb the surface of Earth as they emerge from the interior.Surface waves are the last to arrive at a seismograph station. They are usually the primary cause of the destruction that can result from earthquakes affecting densely populated areas. This destruction results because surface waves are channeled through the thin outer region of Earth, and their energy is less rapidly scattered into the large volumes of rock traversed by body waves.译文地震波①地震波是由地震产生的能量波,它们使科学家能够确定地球内部区域的位置、厚度和性质。
