最近，知行君迷上了看美剧，和其他西方电视，电影相比，美剧在语言方面更倾向于口语，可以在一部美剧中学到很多英语口语。

从知行君看过的几部美剧中，知行君发现英语和汉语在口语方面有这样一个共性，那就是同样一个词组，通过不同的语气和语境，所表达出来的意思完全不同。

就拿常听到的“You deserve it!”来说，通过用和颜悦色地口吻说出和用咬牙切齿地口吻说出，是两个完全不同的意思，今天知行君就好好说道说道。

“deserve”在词典里的意思是应得的，它既可以是褒义词，也可以是贬义词，做褒义词时，它表示实至名归，你值得拥有！，一般是别人指经过一番努力，在某一方面取得好成绩，或者赢得了奖励。

这时我们出于夸赞可以说“You deserve it!”，比如：You deserve to be with someone else better than me.（你值得比我更好的人在一起。

）当“deserve”用作贬义词时，跟现在的网络流行语“碧池！”差不多，再配上愤怒轻蔑的语气，意思就是活该，自找的，罪有应得。

比如：I hope they get the punishment they deserve.（我希望他们能够得到应有的惩罚）。

其实在英语里还有很多词都是褒贬兼有的，所以在日常使用中应当注意，不要因为表述不当而造成误会。

比如“aggressive”这个词，如果表达贬义的话，常常翻译成有侵略性的，比如：Men tend to be more aggressive than women（男人比起女人更有侵略性。

）这个词表达褒义时，常用于职场方面，比如老板找你闲谈时，希望你在工作上能够“aggressive”一些。

这里就不能翻译成有侵略性，可以翻译成有进取心，有干劲的。

由此可见，在外企上班更需要灵活。

最后，知行君再给大家说一下“invent”的褒贬用法，它的褒义意思是“发明，创造”，不过常用的是这个词的贬义意思，它的贬义是指创造一个原因，借口，故事，但并不是真的，用来欺骗别人的意思，可以翻译成“虚构”。
