英语作文周记高一As a high school freshman, I have found that writing weekly English compositions has been an invaluable part of my academic journey. This exercise not only helps me improve my English language skills but also allows me to reflect on my personal growth and experiences. Through this process, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the power of written expression and the importance of clear and effective communication. One of the key benefits of the weekly English composition is the opportunity it provides to practice and refine my writing skills. Each week, I am challenged to organize my thoughts, develop a coherent structure, and convey my ideas in a clear and concise manner. This regular practice has helped me to become more comfortable with the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to drafting and revising. Moreover, the weekly compositions have encouraged me to explore a diverse range of topics and perspectives. Whether it's reflecting on a personal experience, analyzing a current event, or delving into aliterary work, I am constantly exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking. This exposure has not only broadened my intellectual horizons but has also helped me to develop a more nuanced and critical approach to the world around me.One of the most rewarding aspects of the weekly English composition is the opportunity to engage in self-reflection. Each week, I am prompted to consider my own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to translate them into a written form. This process has been invaluable in helping me to better understand myself and the complex interplay of emotions, beliefs, and values that shape my identity. For example, in a recent composition, I explored the theme of resilience and how it has manifested in my own life. I reflected on the challenges I have faced, the obstacles I have overcome, and the lessons I have learned along the way. Through this process, I gained a deeper appreciation for my own inner strength and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. In addition to the personal benefits, the weekly English composition has also helped me to develop stronger communication skills that will be invaluable in my future academic and professional endeavors. By consistently practicing the art of written expression, I have become more adept at articulating my ideas, supporting myarguments, and engaging with diverse audiences. This skill set has already proven useful in my other classes, where I am often called upon to write essays, reports, and research papers. Moreover, as I look ahead to my future career, I know that the ability to communicate effectively in writing will be a crucial asset, whether I am drafting emails, preparing presentations, or collaborating on complex projects.Beyond the practical benefits, the weekly English composition has also sparked my intellectual curiosity and fostered a deeper appreciation for the power of language. As I delve into different topics and genres, I am constantly amazed by the richness and complexity of the written word, and the ways in which it can be used to convey emotion, persuade an audience, or illuminate the human experience. This newfound appreciation has led me to explore a wide range of literary works, from classic novels to contemporary poetry, and has inspired me to experiment with my own creative writing. I have found that the process of crafting a compelling narrative or articulating a thought-provoking idea can be both challenging and deeply rewarding, and I look forward to continuing to hone these skills in the years to come.In conclusion, the weekly English composition has been a transformative experience for me as a high school freshman. Through this exercise, I have not only improved my writing skills but have also gained a deeper understanding of myself, a greater appreciation for the power of language, and a stronger set of communication skills that will serve me well in my future academic and professional endeavors. As I continue on my educational journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in this weekly practice and to explore the endless possibilities of the written word.。

我一周的生活英语作文大一As a university freshman, my weekly routine has been a whirlwind of new experiences, challenging coursework, and exciting opportunities. Each day brings its own unique set of tasks, obligations, and moments of personal growth, shaping my overall college experience in profound ways.Mondays tend to be my busiest days, with a packed schedule of back-to-back classes spanning the entire day. I typically wake up around 6:30 AM to prepare for the day ahead, taking a few moments to enjoy a quick breakfast and review my daily agenda. My first class begins at 8 AM, a challenging yet fascinating introduction to macroeconomics, where I diligently take notes and engage in lively discussions with my classmates. This is followed by a brief break before my next course, a writing seminar focused on developing my academic research and argumentative skills. After a quick lunch, I head to the library to work on a group project for my sociology class. Collaborating with my peers, we dive deep into the social issues surrounding urban development and its impacton marginalized communities. As an aspiring urban planner, I find this project particularly meaningful and use the opportunity to further explore my interests and passions. The afternoon concludes with a laboratory session for my biology course, where I put my scientific knowledge into practice through hands-on experiments and observations.By the time my classes end around 5 PM, I'm often feeling mentally drained, but I still make an effort to attend a club meeting for the environmental organization on campus. Here, I connect with like-minded students who share my concerns for sustainability and climate action, brainstorming ideas for campus initiatives and community outreach. It's a refreshing change of pace from the rigors of academics, allowing me to engage in meaningful extracurricular activities that fuel my personal growth.Tuesdays offer a slightly more relaxed schedule, with only two classes to attend. In the morning, I have a seminar on the history of modern art, where I'm captivated by the diverse range of artistic movements and their sociopolitical influences. This is followed by an elective course on creative writing, where I have the opportunity to hone my storytelling skills and receive feedback from my talented peers. The rest of the day is usually reserved for independent study, allowing me to catch up on readings, work on assignments, and prepare for upcoming tests.Wednesdays are perhaps the most active day of my week, as I have a packed schedule of both academic and extracurricular commitments.I start my day with a lecture on the principles of public policy, delving into the complexities of government decision-making and the pursuit of the public good. After a brief break, I head to my next class, a hands-on workshop on urban design, where I collaborate with classmates to create innovative solutions for community development. In the afternoon, I make my way to the campus recreation center, where I participate in a weekly volleyball club practice. This not only allows me to stay physically active, but also provides an opportunity to socialize and build relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. After practice, I attend a meeting for the student government association, where I contribute my ideas and participate in discussions on campus initiatives and student welfare.Thursdays and Fridays tend to be a bit more relaxed, with fewer scheduled classes and more time for independent work and personal pursuits. On Thursdays, I have a single course on the history of Western civilization, where I delve into the rich tapestry of cultural, political, and social developments that have shaped the modern world. The rest of the day is typically reserved for catching up on readings, working on long-term projects, and meeting withprofessors during their office hours.Fridays are often my favorite days of the week, as they offer a welcome respite from the demanding academic schedule. I usually start my day with a leisurely brunch at the campus dining hall, taking the time to savor a delicious meal and catch up with friends. The afternoon is then dedicated to personal hobbies and leisure activities, such as exploring the local art galleries, visiting the campus bookstore, or simply relaxing in the quad with a good book.In the evenings, I sometimes attend campus events or social gatherings, such as guest lectures, movie screenings, or student organization meetups. These experiences not only provide a break from the academic grind but also allow me to expand my horizons, engage with diverse perspectives, and forge meaningful connections with my peers.Weekends, on the other hand, are a time for me to recharge and pursue my own interests. Saturdays are often reserved for catching up on sleep, running errands, and engaging in self-care activities, such as exercising, practicing mindfulness, or simply enjoying the great outdoors. Sundays, meanwhile, are dedicated to preparing for the upcoming week, reviewing my course materials, and planning out my schedule to ensure I'm staying on top of my responsibilities.Throughout this whirlwind of a week, I've come to appreciate the importance of time management, self-discipline, and the pursuit of a balanced lifestyle. While the academic demands can be challenging at times, I've found immense fulfillment in the opportunity to explore new subjects, engage with thought-provoking ideas, and collaborate with talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. My weekly routine has not only shaped my intellectual growth but has also contributed to my personal development, helping me to cultivate resilience, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. As I continue to navigate the exciting journey of university life, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and anticipation for the countless opportunities that lie ahead.。
难忘大一生活英语作文英文回答:My unforgettable experience in my freshman year of college was when I joined a club called "English Conversation Club". It was a club where students who were interested in improving their English skills could gather and practice speaking English together. I decided to join because I wanted to meet new friends and become more confident in speaking English. In the club, we had weekly meetings where we would discuss various topics in English. Sometimes we would have debates, other times we would play language games. It was a fun and relaxed environment where we could learn from each other and improve our language skills. One of the most memorable moments was when we had a storytelling competition. Each member had to tell a storyin English, and the best storyteller would win a prize. Iremember feeling nervous but excited at the same time. I chose to tell a funny story about a misunderstanding I had with a friend. I practiced my storytelling skills for days before the competition. On the day of the competition, I was amazed by the stories that my fellow club members shared. Some were funny, some were inspiring, and some were simply heartwarming. It was incredible to see how everyone had improved their English speaking abilities and how confident they were in sharing their stories. When it was my turn to tell my story, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. I started off a bit shaky, but as I continued, I could feel myself gaining confidence. The audience laughed at the funny parts and listenedattentively to the rest of the story. When I finished, I received a round of applause and even some compliments from my club members. It was such a rewarding experience.中文回答:我在大一时参加了一个叫做“英语会话俱乐部”的社团,这是一个让对提高英语技能感兴趣的学生聚集在一起练习英语口语的社团。

Some people are so afraid of making mistakes that they never open their mouths. And that’s the biggest mistake of all. Now if you have courage and are ready to make a few errors, what do you say?First of all, you have to open the conversation. Finding an appropriate topic is half the battle. Some topics, such as theweather and news, work well. But others, such as age, money or people’s appearance do not. The following are some good ways to open a conversation.Weather –It sure is cold today, isn’t it?News – Did you hear about that terrible forest fire?A conversation in a foreign language doesn’t always go smoothly. Sometimes your partner talks too fast and you find it difficult to follow. Not to worry, though. You can always ask your partner to repeat what he has said or to speak more slowly. For example, “Excuse me, but could you say that again? I didn’t catch it.” Or “Could you speak more slowly, please?”At the end of a conversation you need to find a way to close it in a polite way. “Well, I really need to be going,” or “It was nice talking to you” are frequently used by people to end a conversation.Exercise 1: 1. b c a 2. Can I help you?S: Yes, please. I’m a new student and I’d like to have some information about the…em…th e accommodation for students.R: Right. The university provides two types of accommodation, halls of residence and self-cateringaccommodation.S: How much does it cost for the self-catering accommodation?R: For a single room, thirty-seven pounds eighty-six per week, that’s about five forty-one a day. For a double room, it’s fifty-two seventy-eight per week. This will apply throughout this academic year.S: I’d like to stay in the self-catering accommodation. How far is that from the residence to the university?R: It all depends. The residences at 36 Elms Road and 110 Palm Road are about one and a half miles from the university main site and the Freeman’s Common House at William Road are half a mile.S: When do I need to apply?R: Are you an undergraduate or a postgraduate?S: Undergraduate.R: Then you should apply for it as soon as possible, since places in university-owned accommodation are limited and if you don’t apply before the end of the month, you are not likely to get a place.S: Could you possibly tell me what to do, if no vacancy isavailable?R: Yes, you may consider private accommodation. The university runs an Accommodation Information Office and its staff will help you.S: Where is the office?R: In the Students’ Union Building.S: Whom can I contact?R: Mr. Underwood. But college professors do much more than go to class. The average professor spends between six and fifteen hours in the classroom weekly. And that same college professor works from sixty to eighty hours a week.Because they must remain current in their fields, professors spend part of that time reading, reading, reading. That leads to additional hours during which they revise and update their class lecture notes. It takes far longer to prepare notes than to deliver them in class. Professors may spend time conducting experiments, working on college projects, or advising students. They may be writing books, articles, or papers for delivery at conventions. When not in the classroom or in the office, professors are still working, behind closed doors in committee sessions or at home grading papers and preparing for tomorrow’s classes. To accept this sort of schedule willingly, they must feel strongly about theimportance of the college experience.Exercise: 1. A busy life. 2. But I don't know her friends very well.B: So get to know them.A: But I’m no good at small talk.B: Small talk is easy. You can learn.A: By Friday?B: sure, I’ll coach you. You just have to remember a few simple sentences.A: I don't know. I have trouble remembering things. Especially when I meet people. I get nervous.B: Don’t worry, John. You can do it. You just need a few tips.A: But what if I say something stupid?B: Hey, you’re not giving a speech. You’re just having a conversation. So just talk about something you know they are interested in.A: That’s the problem. I don’t know what Carol’s friends are interested in.B: Let them tell you. If you let people talk about themselves, they’ll think you’re interesting.A: You mean something like, “So, tell me what you’re interested in.”B: Well, you don’t have to be that direct. For example, you can talk about the weather.A: You can’t be serious. The weather’s b oring.B: It’s a good excuse to find out what they like to do. On a rainy day, you say, “What do you do in such terrible weather?”A: What if they just stayed home and read a book?B: Then ask them about the book. You can ask if it was good. Ask if they liked it and why. Then talk about a book you really liked.A: So that’s what small talk is about, is it? Well, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the tips, Mike.B: You’re welcome. Have a good time at the party.Note:Small talk means light conversations on unimportant or non-serious subjects such as the weather or TV programs you saw last night, or little compliments on what people are wearing. But when she got home and examined the sheets, Mrs. White was shocked. One of them had a big hole in the middle, and another was badly stained. And two others were frayed at the edges. As you can imagine, Mrs. White was very angry and she went back immediately to complain. When she arrived, the store was closed and the two other angry ladies were waiting outside. One of them told Mrs. White that she had bought some towels that morning, and the other lady said that she had purchased a linen tablecloth. In both cases the goods were defective. A little later some other women joined them, and they all told the same story. Finally the storekeeper appeared and let them in. The poor man looked very worried. He became very nervous when the ladies threatened to call the police, but he denied trying to cheat them. Then he explained what had happened. In his absence, the driver of a delivery truck had mistaken his shop for a secondhand goods store and had delivered a load of used material from a nearby hotel. The sales clerk had not bothered to check the delivery and had started selling the defective goods right away. The storekeeper apologized for the mistake and promised to exchange the ladies’ purchases and to refund half the price. Needless to say he fired the careless assistant.Unit 7Part B: We Have an Opening NowMs. Campbell: Have a seat, Mr. Wells. The poor boy spoiled everything he did and for that reason could never keep a job. He’d had many jobs over the years but only for a few weeks at a time. For six months, Fred was out of employment. Finally, he got a job in a warehouse where many different types of home furnishings were stored. Fred’s job was to unpack the merchandise newly arrived from the factory and put each item in its assigned place. The work was only temporary, but after so long with no employment at all it was better than nothing. One morning Fred unpacked a large and quite fragile vase. He picked it up to carry across the warehouse. But he had onlywalked two steps and he tripped. There was a loud crash as the vase fell from Fred’s hands and shattered into a thousand pieces.Fred was called immediately to the manager’s office, and he was sure he would be fired. The young man’s spirits began to drop.“I’ll have to deduct something from your wages every week until the vase is paid for,” the manager said sternly.“How much is the vase worth?” Fred asked.“$350”A wide grin spread across the young man’s face. “That’s wonderful!” he shouted happily. “At last I have a steady job!”Exercise 1: c b cExercise 2: 1. he was clumsy and spoiled everything he did.1. He works on some of the busiest Motorways in Britain, the M1 and the M25.There are traffic police on duty twenty-four hours a day. There are three shifts, and each shift is eight hours. On average they have to deal with three to four accidents each shift. Here is Mark Hill talking about his job:“We deal with anyone in the accident who is injured. That’s the first thing. Then we have to clear the road and get the traffic moving again.”“Most accidents happen because people drive too fast—especially when the roads are wet. Sometimes we get accidents that occur because drivers don’t follow the rules. For example, I’ve seen a number of cases of drivers overtaking on the left. This is illegal in Britain. If you want to overtake, you have to go into the fast lane on the right.”“Not everyone can use a motorway in Britain. People that。

A Freshman's JourneyStepping onto the campus of the university for thefirst time, I felt a sense of excitement mixed with nervousness. As a freshman, I was embarking on a new chapter in my life, filled with both challenges and opportunities. The transition from high school to university was not an easy one. The freedom and independence that university life offered were both liberating and daunting. There were no more teachers micromanaging our every move, and no more set schedules dictating our daily routine. Instead, we were given the reins to shape our own academic and personal growth. One of the most significant challenges I faced as a freshman was managing my time effectively. With a more diverse range of courses and activities to choose from, it was easy to feel overwhelmed and stretched thin. However, I soon learned the importance of prioritizing and planning. By creating a weekly schedule and sticking to it, I was able to balance my studies, extracurricular activities, and social life.Another challenge was navigating the social landscape of university. Unlike high school, where friendships often formed naturally through shared classes and activities, university required a more proactive approach. I found myself having to put myself out there, introducing myself to new people and participating in campus events. Although it was initially intimidating, I quickly realized that everyone was in the same boat, and most people were eager to make new friends.Despite the challenges, I found that university life was also incredibly rewarding. The opportunity to explore new interests and passions, both academically and personally, was unlike anything I had experienced before. I was able to take courses that piqued my curiosity and participate in clubs and organizations that aligned with my values and goals. Moreover, the diversity of people and perspectives that I encountered broadened my horizons and challenged my own beliefs and assumptions. I learned to appreciate different cultures, backgrounds, and ways of thinking, which not onlyenriched my educational experience but also made me a more understanding and tolerant person. As a freshman, I also learned the importance of resilience and perseverance. The challenges and setbacksthat I faced taught me to persevere and never give up. I learned that success often comes from hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude.Looking back on my freshman year, I am grateful for the experiences and lessons it taught me. It was a year of growth and discovery, both academically and personally. I am excited to continue exploring and learning in the years ahead, and I am confident that the skills and insights I gained as a freshman will serve me well in the future.**大一新生的旅程**第一次踏入大学校园时,我内心充满了激动与紧张。

Lesson One: The Time MessageElwood N, Chapman 新的学习任务开始之际,千头万绪,最重要的是安排好时间,做时间的主人。
本文作者提出了7点具体建议,或许对你有所启迪。
1 Time is tricky. It is difficult to control and easy to waste. When you look ahead, you think you have more time than you need. For Example,at the beginning of a semester, you may feel that you have plenty of time on your hands, but toward the end of the term you may suddenly find that time is running out. You don't have enough time to cover all your duties (duty), so you get worried. What is the answer? Control!
2 Time is dangerous. If you don't control it, it will control you. I f you don't make it work fo r you, it will work against you. So you must become the master of time, not its servant. As a first-year college student, time management will be your number one Problem.译:时间是危险的,如果你控制不了时间,时间就会控制你,如果你不能让时间为你服务,它就会起反作用。
