纯电动汽车按其用途来分，目前主要有电动公交车和
电动轿车两类。由于纯电动汽车的能量不富裕特点，它也
较适合于某些性能要求不高的特定车辆，如游览观光车、
高尔夫球场车、电动自行车、电动三轮车和残疾人自驾车
等，当然按定义来说该类特定车辆不应属于汽车。
它除了供给汽车驱动行驶所需的电能外，也是供应汽车上
各种辅助装置的工作电源。蓄电池在车上安装前需要通过
串并联的方式组合成所要求的电压等级，为满足要求，可以用多个12V或24V的蓄电池串联成96～384V高压直流电池组，再通过DC/DC转换器供给所需的不同电压。
