There is an old saying that "Good fences make good neighbours."

However, I believe that it is not the physical distance between neighbours

I am fortunate to have neighbours who embody the ideal of

neighbourly friendship.They are a warm and friendly family of four.The

parents, Mr and Mrs Lim, are both kind and helpful.They always have a

smile on their faces and never hesitate to lend a hand when needed.Their

children, Sarah and Michael, are my age and we have grown up together

as best friends.

One memorable experience I had with my neighbours was during the

recent COVID-19 pandemic.When the entire country was placed under

lockdown, my family and I were concerned about how we would manage

with the limited supplies.However, our neighbours came to our

rescue.They shared their groceries and essentials with us, ensuring that

we had enough to last us through the crisis.In return, we also helped them

with their errands and shared our home-cooked meals with them.This

experience not only strengthened our bond as neighbours but also taught us the importance of community and unity.

Apart from their kindness and helpfulness, my neighbours also have

a strong sense of responsibility towards the community.They are actively

involved in the neighbourhood watch programme and always ensure that

our street is safe and secure.They also organise regular clean-up drives

to keep our neighbourhood clean and litter-free.

In conclusion, having good neighbours is a blessing.They not only

provide a sense of security and comfort but also become an extended

family.The relationship between neighbours is not just about living in

close proximity but about building meaningful connections and

supporting each other through thick and thin.I am grateful to have

neighbours like the Lim family, and I believe that their example sets a

standard for neighbourly relations that others should strive to emulate.。
