Third, it is more accessible and cheaper than printed books. Besides, more and more unknown authors have turned to e-books to get their books published. With the rapid development of electronic technology, e-books, which can be read through the computer, have been widely accepted over the years. Traditional books seem to be fading away in an alarming rate. Therefore, many people predict that e-books will absolutely replace traditional books considering the great convenience brought by them. However, I don’t think so.There is no doubt that e-books are convenient and accessible. And you can easily get them on the internet with a cheaper price instead of spending a lot of money by traditional books. Moreover, it is environment friendly to read on line as forests can be protected from being cut down to make paper. However, traditional books will win their values and will not be replaced by e-books completely. First of all, it’s an enjoyab le time wondering in the book store choosing your favorite books from books shelves. And you can read as long as you like. You will get a tranquil and content feeling when your fingers touch the real paper and your mind goes deeper into the page. Second, digital devices are bad for our health for their radioactivity. It is not good for your health if you stare at your computer for a long time without rest. You may feel headache and eye strain. E-books are really bad for eyes when one is reading. Besides, digital devices are not accessible to everyone. You cannot read e-books without digital devices at hand, but you can bring a book and read it everywhere.Traditional books still win their own values in the e-age time. In conclusion, convenient as e-books may be, it cannot completely replace traditional books. Just as the invention of the digital camera does not put an end to the history of Chinese brush painting, traditional books are, and will still be close friends of us.。

In America, there was once a town where all living things seemed to in a harmonious relationship with their surroundings. In spring, flowers bloomed in the green field while in autumn the leaves flamed with fiery color. The town was known/famous for its bird life and migrants and fish. But one day, everything changed. The town was silent and still. It was deserted and covered with the shadow of death which was caused by no one else but men.
Although this town doesn’t exist and no community has suffered/experienced all the above disasters, it is a harsh/cruel reality that many communities are experiencing some of the misfortunes brought by men’s power to alter the nature. Ever since we have the power, we have been assaulting/encroaching the environment. W e cause severe pollution and abuse chemicals and pesticides.
Each year hundreds of new chemicals come to actual use. They were applied universally/widely to farms, gardens, forests and so on. Do we really need so many chemicals to control the pest? To answer it, we must have the basic knowledge of animal populations and their relations to their surroundings. Then we find that insect problems appeared with the intensification of agriculture and the movement of the insects into new territories.
In short, I don’t mean we could never use chemical insecticides.
I mean that before we use them, we should distinguish poisonous
and biologically potent chemicals. Besides, we should inform people of the harm and make more investigations of the effect on soil, water and wildlife.。
