Chenghang:Bailu:hello, everyone i am bailu.Lvning:Hello, everyone! My name is lvning, majoring in machenical engineering.Limeng:My name is Limeng. My major is Environmental Science and Engineering.Lihaibo:Hello everyone!my name is Li Hai Bo ,from mechanical engineering academy.Chenghang:Bailu:As for me,i find i am busy most of the day,but do not accomplish the things that really matter to me. first,i may be spending too much on low priority busywork.i have no enough time to do everything on my schedule and make progress on important goals.i am feeling overwhelmed and out of control.Second,i am always doing very efficiently the things which need not be done at all.this is one of the worst ways of time management.i can waste my time, particularly when i do not even realize i am doing it.Second,i would like to persue perfection.perfectionism tricks me into spending too much time perfecting tasksthat should already be done.So i think i am absolutely unproductive.that is all. Lvning:I don't think I am a productive person. For me,when under the supervision of other person,I will be more productive.Because I always stop what i'm doing now to do other things that I am interested in.It is not easy for me to focus on one thing for a block of time.So if someone reminds me of my work,I think I will be more productive.Limeng: I always wait until the last minute to do my work. Actually I really don’t want to be like that, but it’s hard for me to concentrate on doing things if I’m not under a deadline. Although I’m used to having a very tight schedule to meet the deadline, time seemed to be not enough for me. When I get to the end of a busy day, I don’t have a strong sense of accomplishment.I also feel stressed and overwhelmed. So I thing I’m not a very productive people, to some extents.I’m studying time management and productivity from books, articles and reports recently. And I foundseveral secrets of very productive people and what they do differently from unproductive and ineffective people. Now I’m going to share with you.Lihaibo:En, I think that compare with the students around me I'm a productive person. That because when I was a child i learn from my father that time is very important for our everyone.my father also told me we couldn't have the ability to retain today but we have chooses not to spoil today. So as I grow up,I gradually formed my own style of time management .I used to take my tasks into categories using the ABCD prioritization.this method helps me focus and spend more of my time on the things that really matter to me ,I think this is one of the main reason why I more productive than my classmate. That's all!Chenghang:Limeng:I think the first secret is “The mindset”. Your mindset is critical. Let me give you an example of two different productivity mindsets. The first mindset is trying to find time for an important project in an already busy and overcrowdedschedule. With this mindset, you start your day and do whatever task grabs your attention first. Maybe it’s email, maybe it’s surfing the web, or some other distraction. After a while, you start with your project, but then remember that you need to do your experiments, so you drop your project and work on that instead. As you go through the day, you hope that you’ll be able to find some time for your important project latter on when things settle down a bit. But unfortunately, they never do. You jump from one thing to the next, and get to the end of the day feeling like you had a busy day, but realizing that you actually accomplished very little. The second mindset is the opposite one. Instead of starting the day with whatever task grabs your attention first; you consciously make time for your important project and work on it for several hours, without getting sidetracked by anything else.Do you see how that small shift in your mindset can make a huge difference in your productivity? So effective productivity mindset help you accomplish more in less time and with less stress. The second secret of very productive people is “Value your time”.You probably know that time waits for no one. Once an hour is gone, you will never get it back. So your time is too precious to waste!People that don’t value their time usually don’t care whether they are productive or not. Perhaps they feel that no matter how much they waste their time today, they’ll just get more tomorrow. They see an endless river of time flowing their way on day after the next. But you and I know that while this “river of time”may seem endless, it’s really not. Time will run out for all of us.So it’s really important for us to rethink about how to spend our time right now? How much value have we placed on our time in the past?OK, that’s all. Thank you!Lihaibo:Ok!I would like to emphasize on 1 more point .I once read a book The Effective Executive the author says that effectiveness is the critical quality that distinguishes great achievers from everyone else. That's because true productivity and achievementare not just about getting things done.Much more important than how much "stuff" you get done is weather your actions are helping you create the results you truly want in your business and your life;In other words, true productivity and achievement are about effectiveness;about getting the right things done.Once you've developed your productive system and can execute consistently, focusing on getting the right things done will take your productivity to a whole new level.I know a story about an executive who was very busy and spend years climbing up the corporate ladder. After many years of struggle and sacrifice,he finally made it to the top only to realize that it was leaning against the wrong wall! The best way to avoid this common scenario is to integrate your purpose values and goals along with your projects and tasks. That's how you get things done. Chenghang:Lvning: For the first problem,in my opinion,as an average person, the best way to stop using our head to keep track of things is to write them down.By this method,we can handle a lot of information and details without getting overloaded. So we can work according tothe plan we have already made and concentrate our energy on the more inportant things. For the second problem,it is often a waste of time ,because the things that grab your attention are usually not important. In order to overcome this problem,I think we need to use a to--do list that works, propritize it based on impritance and urgency. So we can decide whether the things grap our attention is improtant or not and we can put off the distraction to a more approprite time. That's all.Bailu:As far as i am concerned,i hold the idea that there are three common time management mistakes. First of all,it is not prioritizing your to do list.how can you spend your time on your top priorities if you do not even know what they are?Secondly,it is trying to find time for the important stuff.the fact is that you already have all the time you are ever going to get,you will never find time for anything,if you want time, you must make it.if you feel like you do not have enough time to do something important you want to do,you have to learn how to maketime for it,even if that means delaying or eliminating other less important items from your schedule, you can not find more time, but you can always chang the way you use the time you already have.Thirdly,it is drifting into trivia,if you find yourself routinely working on unimportant things ,you may be drifting into trivia more often than you think.drifting into trivia is an easy way to escape doing an important but unpleasant task by jumping at the first chance to do something else, even when that something else is not at all important. So i think prioritization and planning are essential to make sure you spend enough of your time on your top priorities.that is all.Chenghang:Lihaibo:Ok!I'm very glad to have the chance to share some good habit about time management with our audience!I will give all of you four tips! The first point is: plan your weekSpend some time at the beginning of each week to plan your schedule.taking the extra time to do this will helpincrease your productivity and balance your important long-term projects with your more urgent tasks.all you need is fifteen to thirty minutes each week for your planning sessionThe second point is:learn to say noMany people become overloaded with too much work because they overcommit;they say yes when they really should be saying no.Learn to say no to low priority requests and you will free up time to spend on things that are more important. The third point is:Avoid attempting to do too much While it is good to balance important long-term projects with urgent tasks, you can take this too far.If you spread your time and energy over too many different projects, you may not be able to make meaningful progress on any of them.Good time management trequires that you focus your time on a smaller set of objectives. The last point but I think is also most important is have funWhat is life without a little fun?Make time to spend with your friends and loved ones.Having fun will help you feel more satisfied with both life and your job.that's all。
