Step 1 Lead-in
show a map of the USA and ask two questions.
1).What will come to your mind when you hear USA?
2).What do you know about USA?
Step 2 Warming up.
1. Show some pictures on the screen and ask the students to describe what they learn about the
USA.
2. Group work: look at the map of the USA with your group. Write on the map the names of as

1. Ask the students to describe what cloning is.
2. Show the students the definition of cloning.
3. In pairs, look at these pictures and discuss which ones are natural
clones and which ones are man-made. Think about how they differ.
Natural clone is one that occurs from the “parent ” in a natural form of
cloning without human help.

A device that can create water out of thin air even in dry environments has been
ing only the power of the sun and a special material with some unusual properties(特性),the device can produce 2.8 litres of water in 12 hours.And it can work in condition where
humidity(湿度) is as low as 20 percent.
Professor Omar Yaghi,a chemist at the University of California,Berkeley,who helped create
the device,said,“We wanted to show that if you are cut off somewhere in the desert,you could
survive because of this device.A person needs about a can (330ml) of water per day.That is
something one can collect in less than an hour with this system.This is a major breakthrough in the
long-standing challenge of getting water from the air at low humidity.”
